    Racoons in attic

My wife and I experienced racoons in our attic last year we were new to this problem and hired a local company to deal with the problem. The company owner came put cages on our roof trapped the racoons and left with hardly any information for us. This is not the proper way to deal with wildlife. This year we had the same problem and after that experience I decided to do some research and chose AAA Gates Wildlife control. Nick our technician was very informative and answered all our questions, went into our attic, did a thorough search and suggested we close all entries to our attic for more protection. Nick put a one-way door so whatever was in our attic left and could not get back in. These procedures are the proper ways to control wildlife not the way the other company we hired did the job. Out of courtesy I will not mention their names. I recommend AAA Gates Wildlife they did the job right, were punctual and answered all our questions.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Fayaz, thank you for explaining the right and wrong way to perform wildlife removal. Not many homeowners know that trapping is no longer an acceptable practice for wildlife control. Thank you for the confidence you showed in my company. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner/President

    Raccoon removal

Arrived right on time to check attic for a recent raccoon invasion, critter had left, diagnosed problem area, inspected the attic and put back in order while sanitizing it, sealed all possible entry points with heavy duty wire mesh. Technician was very professional and informative as well as being proactive in identifying possible problem areas and sealing those.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Peter, the raccoon must have known we were coming and high tailed it out of there. lol Thanks for writing such a complimentary review! Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner/President

    Racoon damage

Nick was punctual, efficient, friendly:: replaced mats and installed screens to racoon-proof roof. Invoice was printed, clear and detailed. Will definitelty use again but hope that's not necessary. Highly recommended.

Hi Chandra, thank you for your great review and for complimenting Nick. I have one question, would it be possible to have you change your review from an 8 to a 10. Ratings are very important to my customers that find us on Homestars and I want to remain competitive. If not, could you please tell me what Nick could have done differently to have achieved a 10. I am always looking to train my staff to be better at what they do. Thanks again.Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner/President

    Skunk removal

Extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with! Chris did an excellent job, was very informative and thorough. Mr. skunk under the shed is no longer an uninvited guest! I had another company (recommended by the Oakville Humane Society), tell me over the phone they would remove/relocate the skunk which turned out not to be true + they were significantly more expensive. Gates have my future business (perhaps I should rephrase that!). Thanks again Chris.

    Critter fencing

Peter at AAA Gates Wildlife Control was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We had a squirrel in our living room ceiling, and he was able to determine where it was getting in and advise us on how to keep it out. We went ahead with the fencing and are very pleased with the work. Highly recommend.

    Raccoons in the garage

We recently discovered raccoons living in our garage. Gates was extremely responsive and was able to book an estimate within days of my initial phone call. The technician they sent was very polite, friendly and efficient in identifying and solving the problem. He also gave us suggestions how to avoid similar problems in the future. Thank you for the great service, we're very relieved to have the raccoons out!

    Bats In Attic

Called regarding bats flying around in the basement. AAA Gates patched up the house and installed an exit door. Although this did not solve the problem Brian has stood behind his work and I am confident that in the end they will get the bats out. To be continued. Brian thanks for your continued efforts.

    Answer from pro:

Hi John, as discussed I was at your house on July 14, 2014 and discovered a new entry hole. We will be removing the bats and sealing the entry hole at no charge to you. An additional $200 of work will be done on the ridge vents at our expense. If in the future you should have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact my office. Thanks, Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner/President

    Wildlife removal

My two experiences with AAA Gates’ Wildlife Control have both been positive. In the 1980s I thought we had raccoons in the attic. Mr. Gates (I think it was) inspected the roofline and assured me there was no sign of entry. However, he said raccoons were using the flat roof of a nearby house as a latrine and accessing it from ours. He didn’t charge for the visit and I made a mental note that if I ever needed wildlife removed, I would call AAA. Two weeks ago I did. Squirrels were living under our front porch and gnawing on the wires running from the outdoor outlet to the garage. I found AAA online and was glad--though not surprised, given my previous experience--to see all the positive reviews. The pleasant receptionist scheduled an appointment and Peter came on time to inspect. He confirmed the presence of squirrels and located all the possible entries. He outlined a plan to squirrel-proof the porch, leaving a temporary one-way door to allow any animals inside to escape. I accepted his reasonable estimate and he started work right away. He attached a very sturdy metal grid over every part of the porch foundation where a squirrel might be able to squeeze through. He removed a tree branch that had been weighed down by the ice storm and was screening the squirrels’ main entry point. He wrapped electrical tape where they had chewed the rubber off the wires. In other words, he did a very thorough job to ensure there would be no more damage. Before leaving he explained about the one-way door and told me clearly what to expect. Squirrels looking to get back in was normal, but one squirrel in a frenzy meant babies were trapped. He said to call if I saw that and someone would come to help. Thankfully, I didn’t have to. By the following week when Peter returned to remove the one-way door and seal up the exit point, all was quiet. I’m pleased to recommend the ethical, highly professional AAA Gates Wildlife Control to anyone who finds animals living just a little too close for comfort.

    insulation between houses

I called regarding insulation between the houses. Boris came to inspect the property. He didn't find any problem or entry of any animals and he placed a wire mesh over the stove exhaust all at no cost to me. I found the service to be impeccable. Boris was very polite and thorough in explaining the situation. I would definitely use the company again as well as give their name and number as a referral. Thank you Boris

    Answer from pro:

Susan, one of the first signs of a wildlife intrusion is finding insulation on the ground beside the house. Fortunately for you the insulation is probably from a neighbours attic. Thank you for your kind words regarding Boris. I will be reading your review at our next meeting. Brad Gates, B.Sc., Owner/President
