Review from HomeOwner Review left on 20 Mar 2013Rating: 5 out of 5This is a message from a happy person who was effectively and efficiently helped by Tony over the past week. I have no previous experience with animal invasion and Tony knowledgably and calmly rsponded to my situation. Initially it was one determined little squirrel and then it expanded to include a very noisy racoon. Tony arrived promptly, assessed thoroughly, and quickly set up the first line of defense. When further action was needed, again the response was fast and the second line of defense worked too! I felt confident that my home invasion would be taken care of (and it was) and I liked that Tony cared about these inconvenient squatters as much as I did. Many thanks for your services, and in particular, I would like you to know what outstanding work Tony did on your behalf. I will recommend you to others!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 17 Mar 2013Rating: 5 out of 5block raccoon's entry point
A family of raccoons took up residency on my roof after my neighbor screened off their home. A call to Gates resulted in a reasonable estimate and a quick appointment. At first I had a call back to say that the technician wasn't coming because there was an emergency at another client's site, but, to my relief, he pulled up less than 30 minutes after I was told he wasn't coming. The technician was polite, helpful and reassuring, and I felt quite confident having him screen off the entry point the raccoons were using. It's been 7 months and so far, even with the spring season, no sign of their return. Good job, well done.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Technician Tony was very thorough and professional as he analyzed, explained and successfully executed the humane removal of a raccoon from my attic. The time and effort he took to ensure that all points of entry were sealed has given me confidence and the peace of mind that I won't have to encounter a similar problem anytime soon.Review from Lydia Kiselyk Lydia Kiselyk

Friendly, punctual and very willing to explain details of the problem and solution; assessment and repair done quickly, thoroughly and expertly. One-year work guarantee. Came highly recommended on a list of contractors provided by our home inspector when we bought the house. Have had two separate visits so far from this company and both times the service was impeccable. Company known for its humane wildlife removal and that is very important to us.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 21 Feb 2013Rating: 5 out of 5Animal removal
I had a squirrel in my attic, and a raccoon in my shed. Having used Gates Wildlife in the past - it was an easy call to make. They were on site the following day, and removed the animals. Everything was closed up to prevent the animals from returning - and the price was just what they quoted over the phone. I am a happy customer, and now critter free......Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner
Review left on 20 Feb 2013Rating: 1 out of 5Bat protection
The service was not very professional, and left me cleaning up the mess more than 1/2 a year later. The individual who came out refused to inspect the attic for any bat presence (which is what scared me the most, having little kids at home. The mesh installed was not removed a week later, like promised. And worst of all - the caulking used by this person is still found in lumps hanging off of my exterior brick walls, on my landscape rocks, on windows and more. I regret paying this company this kind of money at the end of the day. Should have called around first.Answer from pro:
Hi Julie, Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I am deeply concerned that you are not at all happy with our service as this is not characteristic of my company. Being committed to total customer satisfaction, a call to my office would have given us the opportunity to solve the situation prior to now, 7 months later. To immediately address your concerns I would personally like to come to your house and correct the situation to your satisfaction. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

We saw a review of Gates Wildlife Control that mentioned that their home had cedar shingles. Our home has cedar shingles. We had been trying to get rid of squirrels whom had chewed their way through our shingles at the corner and was nesting in our roof for several weeks last spring. Gates' service both on the phone and in person was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They even recognized the address and said they had been to our house when the previous owners had squirrel issues. the previous summer we had had some work done to the sofits and eaves. The people doing the work had removed all the protection that had previously put in place to stop the squirrels from entering. Gates visited our property and performed a complete inspection before providing us with an estimate to solve the problem. In the end a oneway trap was installed and all other possible entry points were sealed. Gates returned the following week and the oneway trap door was removed and we haven't had any squirrels since.Answer from pro:
Hi Sheryle, thank you for your excellent review of my company. We do come across situations where homeowners replace eavestroughs or shingles and in the process previously installed protective screening is removed. Therefore, in time the animals will discover the openings and get back in. Thank you for allowing us to humanely solve your wildlife problem. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

Service guy was courteous and quick in dealing with our problem (a pregnant squirrel that had chewed through a roof vent). He covered up our vents with metal grilles and used some sort of spray that was supposed to deter the squirrel. This turned out to be inadequate, as the squirrel came back and, even though it couldn't gain access, proceeded to chew the vent (through the grill) until it was seriously damaged. That was disappointing, but the company came back and fixed the problem (with bigger grills) free of charge. They also gave us cute raccoon keychains for our kids.Answer from pro:
Hi Mathew, it is a rare case that a squirrel is as persistent as the one you described. We always stand behind our initial quote particularily because of the occasional, unpredictable nature of animals. Thank you for taking the time to review my company. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President

Prompt and friendly service. We have a high, steep roof with difficult access, but he did a great job with no complaints. He installed mesh over the pigeon roost entrance, and one-way doors for the squirrels. After a few days, we didn't have animal troubles any more.Answer from pro:
Hi Craig, thank you for your great review. All of our technicians are fully health and safety trained, with particular attention paid to fall protection. Therefore working safely at heights and on steep roofs is something that we are accustomed to. Brad Gates, B.Sc. Owner / President
