I signed for a brick to brick window replacement job, and 16 days later the company installer took measurements. He said that the job could not be done as quoted due to the age of our house, and the only way to do it was with window inserts. Please note that by the time the installer showed up, the 10 day Consumer Protection Act cancellation period had expired. I tried numerous times to contact their salesman Mike Lesche to discuss my options, and not once did he return my calls. As a result, 9 days later I sent a registered letter cancelling the contract. My letter was ignored and 15 days later I was called by Aaron to schedule an installation date. This despite the fact that I had not been given a quote for window inserts. After explaining all this to Aaron, I finally did get a quote from Mike Lesche, but I found it to be unacceptable. So Aaron agreed to cancel the contract, but refused to refund my $200 deposit, because I was not cancelling it within the 10 day period! This despite the fact that the company took 16 days to show up and tell me that the job couldn't be done as they quoted. In my opinion, Canadian Choice Windows has managed this transaction very unprofessionally and should not be retaining my deposit.
