    annual lawn care

    10 yr customer. One minor issue in that time which was prompty resolved. I had one of the best lawns in the neighbourhood in 2012 despite the drought like conditions. Sorry to be moving out of area. I have recommended to the person buying my house to continue to use Hometurf.

    Complete program

    I have used Hometurf for since 2005 and feel they provide excellent value. It is nice to have our lawn managed effectiviely throughout the year and somewhat on "auto pilot" with no worries or concerns. It just gets done! I would recommend them.

    Lawn service

    We have used hometurf for a couple of years and have always been happy with the state of our grass. We just had our last fertilizer yesterday and I saw Ryan the man who was doing it. I stopped and talked to him for a bit and he was very pleasant. After all the rain recently our lawn looks really nice. I hope to be using them again next year.

    Lawn Care Serice

    I am very unhappy with the "service" received from Hometurf Lawn Care Service. My lawn has never looked worse. My backyard has more brown spots, moss,and weeds than green grass. When I asked the technician about the brown spots when he was here back in June, he shrugged and moved on. When I called the office about the brown spots a couple weeks later, they said that I would be receiving another application in a couple weeks and would ask the technician to diagnose the problem. I have called twice since then. It is now the last week of September and they have still not been here. I have prepaid for 2 more applications, but I'm not sure if and when I will get them and I still don't know what is causing the brown spots and what can be done about them.

    Hello, I am sorry to hear that your lawn has some patching, unfortunately minor patching is very common in Southern Ontario this season because of the extreme weather that we have received. If you have not received your next application with advice on what caused the problem and how to resolve it please let us know. With such a large customer base we do many field visits for customers that are having issues with the lawn, as a living thing there are many problems that occur naturally such as fungus, etc. that are easily rectified. I assure you that you will be receiving your last two treatments if you have not already received one already. Unfortunately, I can not help you more without knowing who you are.     Lawn care? See before and after photos -- buyer beware!

    We decided to try Hometurf as their early bird offer seemed like a good deal, and about the same cost as we would normally pay for fertilizer and aeration. The initial treatments (early and late spring fertilizer and first Fiesta application) were fine, and the lawn looked good in March and April. However, by mid-June it was starting to go downhill. I saw other neighbours' lawns with signs saying they had been treated with Fiesta in early July. By the end of July we still hadn't received a second weed treatment. I had called their customer service line in mid July to ask when I might expect the second treatment, as well as the summer fertilizer, and was told to expect it the following week. When they came the following week, they peformed aeration and overseeding -- something that should normally be done in the spring or fall. The overseeding came with a warning that germination was not guaranteed. No kidding! Who overseeds their lawn during the hottest part of the summer, and expects it to germinate? Two weeks later, we placed a second call to ask again about the second weed treatment and summer fertilizer. Our call was met with a very indifferent customer service person, who said that the second weed treatment was scheduled for later that week -- when rain was clearly forecasted! As of September 24th, we are still awaiting one application of Fiesta weed control, and TWO fertilizer applications. Based on their performance thus far, I expect we'll receive them sometime after the first major snowfall of the year. When we said that we would be cancelling at the end of the contract, there was no attempt to ask why we were unhappy, or do anything to convince us otherwise. This leads me to believe that this company is very accustomed to unsatisfied customers. My lawn has never looked worse. I've never hired a company to fertilize it, because I've never been confident that the lawn would be looked after to my standards, or even as promised. Save your money. Or do your own research and hire a reputable company.

We have seen a severe drought in Ontario since late May which has caused lawns to go dormant which makes them more susceptible to stress and disease. Your summer application would have been completed this week, not in the rain as we do not perform weed control applications when it is raining. We make it policy to not disturb our customers when cancelling as people cancel yearly service for many reasons such as moving, finances, etc. I would be happy to discuss the service with you and resolve any issues but unfortunately I can not identify you without knowing your name or address. Hi again Ripped Off, I appreciate the fact that you have been adding to your review but that does not allow us to resolve any issues you may have. Your photos do show a lawn that has seen significant damage but is nothing that we caused. Our fertilizer is a slow release granular fertilizer that does not burn and if the lawn was burnt it would be a bright yellow/orange not brown. It was most likely affected by insects that we have not been able to control since the provincial by-law in 2009, nor have we ever claimed that we can treat for such insects. There are some factors that are beyond our control unfortunately. Regardless, I would love to rectify things with you but again I do not know who you are.     Premium Lawn care package

    I am very happy with service I received from Hometurf and this is my first time using their service. I especially appreciate that they spayed for weeds around my pool which none of my previous lawn care companies did. They always call the day before they come to look after the lawn. I will definitely use them again!

    BROWNING OF MY ALWN

    Last Sunday i sent a message to Hometurf regarding brown spots that are appearing on my lawn. I gota reply back early on Monday morning stating that it is too early in the season to have "GRUBS" and that they will check my lawn. I sent a message indicating the problem areas. When i got back from work on Monday i saw a notification from Hometurf that they cheked the lawn and determine it was chinch bugs and they have treated and reseeded the areas . They me to water daily to help seeds germinate I was very impressed with such a quick response to my problem Thank you Hometurf

    Garbage, I've never had so many weeds on my lawn as i did using this company.

    I cancelled this service at the end of last season because to be quite frank, my lawn looked worse at the end of the year, than it did the year before. The weeds were growing out of control. The workers who sprayed my lawn were about as knowledgeable as my baby finger. At one point, my lawn was so full of weeds, we tore half of it up and reseeded. A few days later Hometurf showed up and said we had a grub problem!! At the end of the season i had had enough so I cancelled. A few months later I got the notice of the early bird special. I called and cancelled again. I came home a few weeks ago and found that my lawn had been sprayed against my wishes. After two cancellation phone calls, they came to my house, without calling in advance and sprayed my lawn. I had just put down a good strong fertilizer a few days previous. Now I have a bill for a service i cancelled twice. And a lawn that could have been burnt due to Hometurfs negligence. Save yourself the hassle, don;t deal with these people

    Hello, We are always happy to help if you have any questions throughout the season, however, we never heard anything from you through all of 2011, if you had let us know that you were not satisfied with the weed control we would have gladly re-sprayed any remaining weeds for you. Unfortunately, the program was never cancelled and that is why we returned in the spring of 2012. The situation however, was rectified by our customer service staff to your satisfaction on June 11th after you spent ample time directing profanity towards them.

    Lawn Care

    I have been very pleased with the services that I have received from Hometurf over the last two years. My lawn really has really improved since your company started working on it. I appreciate the advance phone calls letting me know when I can expect your team to arrive and the professional-looking follow-up literature with helpful hints that you leave in my doorway.     Great service

    When I first moved in two years ago my lawn was the worst looking on the street. The previous owners did not do any thing to control weeds or encourage grass growth. I called up Hometurf and ordered there Complete Program. Within our first summer with them our lawn became full of grass and not weeds. Now our lawn is the greenest and fullest lawn on the street. Even after this on and off winter my lawn already looks deep green and full. I am very pleased with the level of expertise that is displayed by the Hometurf staff, I never have any burn spots or damaged flowers and my applications are applied when they said they would be. I also appreciate that they do not send someone to my door, during dinner, trying to push there service like some other companies. Also they do not bombard my mailbox with flyers and other promo stuff. They provide me with a report card that lets me know if I am watering enough or not enough, and other tips for maintaining a healthy lawn in between their visits. All of which is placed in a bio-degradable bag on my front step when I get home. I have recommended Hometurf to all my neighbours and anybody else that wants an honest lawn care company to provide you with great service and great results.
