    Lawnservice

    Have dealt with Hometurf for serval years their prices are comparable to other similar services,the staff is friendly,knowledgeable and professional. The grass is green, and we would recommend them to neighbours.

    TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - DO NOT USE HOMETURF!

    Firstly, their service is mediocre at best. Working from home, I have viewed the employees that are applying the weed control and they pay no attention to where they are applying the product. Weeds gather around the edges of hardscaping but they ignore those spots altogether! Secondly, I have an ongoing dispute with the company because they wont send me the invoice so I can pay their bill. I have an outstanding balance because they delivered my invoice to my rental property's address instead of by home billing address. I called their customer service NUMEROUS TIMES to request invoices but they will not send me copies of the original invoices, which I need for my tax purposes (i.e. rental property). I believe this is because they want me to pay their excessive late charges! MY ADVICE IS GO ELSEWHERE!!! STEER CLEAR OF HOMETURF!!!

    Lawn Care in Scarborough, Servicing New Homeowner and Billing ex-owner under “Auto-Renew” service agreement.

    In my opinion, Hometurf seems to have created their own terms of contract law that states if you sign on once for prepayment, they will continue to service your property even after you have died or sold the property. This includes when you have stopped paying or responding to the requests dropped in the mailbox. Here’s the details… person who started with Hometurf died in May 2010, and widow continues service for the home for another 10 years. In April 2020, house has been sold and closed as widow has had reduced cognitive abilities and needs to move. Widow has no clue of any obligation that there is a “contract” and informs no family member. What contract? – Implied? - On the basis of expectation? The bill was going to a man who had been dead for 10 years and the widow had been paying it early in the spring. New homeowner takes possession April 15th, 2020 and while they are apparently receiving mailbox notices (bills) and flags about servicing, fails to inform Hometurf, real estate agent or ex-homeowner that servicing is still occurring – they did not order it, but are apparently receiving the service and are the homeowners. Despite not receiving cheques as pre-payment as had been done for so many years in the past, Hometurf continues to service the property even though they have not been given any consent to do so. In fact, my conversation with Hometurf – customer service on Feb. 3/21, they never even tried to contact the homeowner until November 2020, after a complete season of service had been done. No mail had been sent, as Canada Post would have forwarded it to ex –homeowner by service paid for. As a relative of this family who has been asked to assist in many areas of changes of life, Hometurf called me as if I was responsible for their continued service without authorization. While I tried to explain neither that I, nor ex –owner, in our opinion, had any legal obligation beyond our ownership to some form of work that “auto-renewed” I would try to see if the new owners would pay for some of the costs. On February 3rd, 2021 the customer service manager was being increasingly aggressive and increasingly talking over me. Since it was not possible to communicate rationally, I asked to speak to someone else, but agent refused. The aggressive tone of the Hometurf agents suggests that bullying people is the most effective way of getting people to pay, while she was threatening a COLLECTION agency against someone who has no obligation to the contract or property – recall person who set up program has been dead for 10 years. When the new homeowner chooses to disregard the mailbox notices, including service flags on lawn and fails to advise Hometurf they are the new homeowners, thinking they are getting a “free” service as it is in the “old lady’s name” there is fundamentally wrong. The new homeowners think they are getting a free service and Hometurf assumes the service is still desired, and goes after the loyal customer for one more final “billing hit”. As of the evening of Feb, 3/21, the new owners have stated that the property has not received any maintence service from Hometurf and are willing to attest to that, according to their real estate agent. Five months later, Hometurf assumes that an 82-year-old widowed woman should assume the cost of lawn service for a property she no longer owned as of April 15, 2020. I have a hard time understanding what planet you are operating on, Hometurf. Keep in mind that neither my relative nor I owned this property while you continued to service. The bill was in a deceased person’s name. Note this is a recurring complaint filed on the Better Business Bureau for central Ontario with this company.

    Lawn Care

    Very professional and reliable. Also when I called to ask about aeration, they were really helpful and explained in detail. Our lawn looks great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hometurf to friends and neighbours.

    Lawn Care in Markham, ruined by horrible customer service

    I learned this year what an "auto-renew" agreement is. Note that when you sign-up for Hometurf you are entering into a contract (without any binding documentation) to secure their services forever until you cancel. I believe 2017 was my first year with Hometurf. Before this year I would have given this company 8/10. The treatment program kept our lawn in good shape for several seasons and weed control was quite good. I would call each year in March to take advantage of an early discount offer and pre-pay for the year ahead. In my view, this is a how you order any service for your property. When March 2020 arrived and COVID hit, I had to move out of town for work. Lawn care was the last thing on my mind and I did not call to order service for 2020. I came home a few times over the summer & fall and in late September I opened a letter from HomeTurf that informed me I was past due the payment for 2020. It seems they had serviced my lawn all season, despite the fact I did not call to order. I called their office in early November to discuss and resolve the issue. After a few calls & speaking with their employees I offered to pay the early bird fee for 2020 season, since they had serviced my lawn all year after all. I thought this was VERY fair however a supervisor had a different point of view : either pay up the full regular fee or they would send my bill to COLLECTIONS! She was so rude and stated at length that by signing up for HomeTurf I had obligated myself to an AUTO-RENEW agreement and was responsible for charges every season until I opted-out and cancelled. She also did not believe it possible that I could be unaware HomeTurf had been providing service all summer. In the end, collecting an extra $60 (the difference between early bird and regular fee) was more important than reaching agreement with me, after which I would likely sign-up again the following year. I would never do so now. AVOID this company. You can get good lawn care from many places who value their customers.

    Yard and lawn service

    I have been a customer for about 10 years. I am very pleased with the service provided by Hometurf over the years. When I purchased my home the lawns were pretty rough, but with the annual yard services provided by Hometurf, I no longer worry about annual weed control, grass seed, or aeration, they take care of that, I only need to cut and water my lawns. I would highly recommend this company.

    Lawn care service

    I was very satisfied with my lawn care. My grass was greener, thicker and looked fantastic. I will be using them again for 2021. You will not be disappointed with Hometurf Lawn Care services.

    Service Review

    My lawn was bad (bald spots, weeds, hard soil) before I called for their service. I want to try and see if they can bring new life to my lawn. After one season, I can see the difference. I neither stop nor look for other lawn companies. Every season my lawn gets better than the previous one. I am quite happy with Hometurf.

    Great service

    Great service and lawn is starting to look thick over the year. Will definitely continue to use this service. I like that they email you the day before to let you know someone will be by to service your lawn. Definitely worth the money!
