    New Sanitary Line

My initial sanitary line blockage turned into a full replacement. After the blockage was cleared, the sewer camera showed me how my clay sanitary pipe had collapsed in multiple sections. Issac and Victor replaced 20' of my sanitary line outside the house and 40' inside the basement. Most professional and always thinking of how my house is being turned upside down, made the unfortunate issue for me, very much tolerable. 100% recommendation.

    New drains, stack, backflow preventer

I hired New Canadian Drain & Plumbimg to install a back flow preventer but as it turned out my drains and stack really needed to be replaced as well. This company is very knowledagble and trustworthy. You wouldn't want just anybody doing a job like this. This company is very lucky to have Shendon Brown as their plumbing technician and site manager. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was done perfectly despite all the challenges my older house presented. He was extremely polite and helpful. I wish all trades could be like Shendon. Thanks so much!

We got a plumbing issue that was resolved within minutes upon the arrival of Ozan Kaya, the Plumbing Technician sent by New Canadian Drain and Plumbing. He was very professional and more importantly, honest. He showed us what the problem was and he fixed it immediately. Highly recommend the company and Ozan.

on/off valve for water and new line leading to city water line

The homebuilders in 1952 somehow built the off valve underground. I now have a proper on/off valve I can reach. The job was done in a timely manner. Friendly, professional, very satisfied.

    Main Drain

If it`s not written on the contract, it doesn't matter what they have told you verbally. If there is work that you need done, make sure it is in writing and written in a way that guarantees you haven't misunderstood or been mislead about what they are doing. Approximately 3 1/2 years ago, after already having had my main drain snaked by the same company, I understood that I was contracting to have residential portion of my main drain replaced. The entire residential portion. I didn't live there any more, so rather than snaking repeatedly, I wanted the problem resolved so that I wouldn't have any tenant emergencies. When they did the work, they told me that they were not responsible for the city portion but assured me that if something went wrong with that, I just needed to contact the city. They told me that their work was warrantied for 25yrs. Both of these things are true. But the misleading part is that while I understood they were replacing the entire residential portion, they replaced all but 1-3 feet, and since the contract says "approximately 5 feet" and doesn't specify "to property line" or "connect to city portion", I had no recourse when their camera inspection last month (for which I paid $190 plus tax) showed that the remaining residential portion failed. They quoted me an additional $3400 to do that work (but if I'd agreed to it, would have made the camera work of $190 free). Now, years later, they don't remember the conversations about the original work. They don't remember me. I've never previously had a main drain replaced and in fact I've never previously owned a rental home so I remember the decision making-process very well. I know that when I agreed to have them dig up my front yard garden, it was with the understanding that this was going to be the end of my main drain worries failing some kind of natural disaster. Do you know how long your main drain is? If you wanted your main drain replaced and they wrote "approx. 5ft", would you think to ask whether it's possible that it might not in fact be 6-8ft long? Of course not. Would you know that if it's not stated that they are connecting to the city drain, they aren't responsible to do so? When I asked what they could do to remedy the situation, they offered me $20 off snaking the drain. I ended up getting that work done by another drain and plumbing company for $1400 plus HST (note that that's $2000 less than this company). This time I made sure that the job description stated that it would be done all the way to the property line. The initial snaking and camera work done the summer prior to the main drain replacement fine. And the part that WAS replaced is probably fine too.

Hi Lisa, Let us start off by saying that New Canadian Drain & Plumbing is a very reputable company that is best known for our efficient workmanship, integrity and top of the line customer service and we have been in business for a very long time. As you have acknowledged in your review, when our technician came to your property in 2013 due to a re-occurring issue with your drain, he advised you that it would be feasible to replace a portion of your residential drain, approximately 5 feet. You agreed to the work as transparently outlined in our contract with you. Our technician also offered to replace your full drain at an additional cost as we always do with our customers who replace only a portion of the drain. There was no motive of misleading you in any aspect. If we had agreed with you to change your full drain line, then our contract would have stated “To change full line…” Prior to signing the contract, you had the opportunity to carefully review the contract and clarify any concerns or questions that you had with our technician. You accepted the contract terms and description and proceeded with the work. When you contacted our office again three years later, you stated, to our office, that you were under the impression that we replaced your full drain line. Our office transferred your call to the same technician who was initially at your property in 2013 and he remembered you. He explained to you that we replaced a portion of your drain and that he did not inform you or mislead you to believe that we would be replacing your full drain line.

    Plumbing, drain, sewer line repair

For months I had this bad odor coming from the basement. I have suspected the kitchen drain line and tried to open it up. Unfortunately, my little Home Depot snake was no match for whatever plugged the drain. So, like most of the people in need, I went into internet to look for a plumber and found this company. It appeared to me that this is a serious company: they have 24 hours emergency call service, and the reviews looked good. In about one hour, the technician was at my door. With some high-tech equipment (digital camera) he found that the main sewer line was plugged with roots and other (bad, smelly) stuff. Even with their heavy-duty motorized snake he couldn’t get through the plug. Solution was to dig and replace the broken section of the pipe. And this is very expensive. I was not at all prepared for such a thing, but I realized that there are no other options, and, reluctantly I’ve accepted. The work started right next morning with a team of four people. They dug and got to the damaged pipe. It appeared that the pipe has been negligently cracked by another plumbing company who installed the back-flow valve about three years ago. It is amazing how fast the roots slipped through the cracks and filled up the pipe … All they need is a plentiful supply of water, no matter how dirty it is. The team replaced the cracked section, scoped the whole drain system with the digital camera in order to make sure there are no other signs that might play bad in the future. After that, they filled up the trench, compacted the soil, and poured 3 inch thick concrete on top of a gravel layer (I remember, the team who installed my back-flow valve years ago just dumped the soil without any compacting and they laid down a ridiculously thin layer of concrete that cracked all over, and had to be re-done (by me, obviously)). At the end, floor was cleaned up and the workers were good to go! From the time I called the company until the job was done, it was only one day. I have to admit that is was worth paying the money: the repair was professionally and quickly solved, and the warranty is 25 years. Many thanks to the hard working team: Iman, Shendon, Lino and Danny, thank you for your great work! It was a pleasure meeting people like you.

    Clogged drain

What a quick and efficient service. How great was Shendon to explain the options and clear the drain in less than one hour. From the initial phone call to him leaving - only one and a half hours at 9pm on a Saturday night. Thank you very much!
