Toilet Bowl Leak and Vanity Installation

I was impressed with the speed of service and the quality of the job. Initially I thought the prices (even the value prices) were high, when I reflected on the promptness and competence of the overall experience the final price was justified.

    Drain pipe replacement

I required emergency drain work done and Priority Plumbing was recommended by another contractor. I contacted them and they responded immediately. They came when they said they were going to, were friendly, knowledgeable and explained exactly what needed to be done. We arranged for the work to be done the following day and it was completed professionally and on time. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work. Thanks guys. Great job.

    Back up of sewage

Our sewage backed up last weekend. A nightmare! Everything eventually had to be torn out and we'll be renovating. We really appreciated the speedy and very efficient service we got from Priority. Not only that, they recommended an awesome restoration service to us and the whole experience has been great. The follow up phone calls have been appreciated too. All around a perfect outcome to what could have been a very difficult situation. Thanks! You're staying on file with us!

I needed a faucet replaced in my kitchen sink, my toilet flapper properly installed and an estimate for a back-water valve.

I needed a faucet replaced in my kitchen sink. I called Priority Plumbing, which had been recommended to me by a friend. The polite and cheerful receptionist, Carrie Anne, gave me a prompt appointment, and the plumber who arrived was a polite, respectful, friendly man, Kostis, who assisted me with another small problem - the proper installation of a flapper in the toilet tank (I had purchased it but could not get it into place by myself) then he did the faucet replacement for me. I asked about a backwater valve and he checked the route for that project as well and gave me the information I needed. He was very clean, tidy, clear in his explanations, cheerful, and helpful. I was very pleased with my service, and recommend this company highly.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for trusting us in your home. Kostis is a quality individual who truly loves what he does. When considering a home service company, so much more than just the technical aspect needs to be considered. you expect it to be done properly, but when the plumber is genuinely a smart, caring and courteous person, that just makes the experience exceptional. - Thank you for choosing Priority Plumbing - The Priority Team.

    Plumbing repair

I was hesitant to commit to paying $50 up-front to have them assess the situation when they wouldn't give me an approximate estimate over the phone, or even an indication of their hourly rate. My instinct on this was right. I needed a leaky pipe fixed under the kitchen counter - the quote, for which I paid a $50 home visit fee - was over $1,300. When I asked how long they thought the work (removing the pvc trap and installing a new one) would take, I was told "at least an hour". So, for those of you counting at home - the going rate at this place (give or take the $20-$30 in supplies that were included in the price) is over $1,000 per hour for plumbing services. Plus another $50 to let you know that in person. *Update* In response to the response: The job quoted was *not* for 3 things. I did ask a question about an outdoor tap (which the plumber answered). No work was/is required. The $1,300 quote was for replacing the trap and sink baskets (the pipe was leaking) under the sink and to fix a toilet that was hard to flush - it also included two upsell scenarios in which the plumber tried to get me to buy an entirely new toilet. After getting the quote, I asked for a price for only the sink fix and was told the price would be the same - $1,300. Again, I asked him how long he thought the repair would take and he said "at least an hour". I asked him if his hourly rate was *really* over $1,000 an hour and he began to tell me about the training that goes into being a licensed plumber. It was a friendly talk the entire time (he was very courteous). I told him I would think about it, and left it at that. I suppose the only real response I have is this: I called another company to come in, which they did for free (see my other review), and my sink was fixed for $250. As for the toilet: Did I need a new toilet? No. Did I need to have the inner parts replaced? No. The other guy just looked in, bent the wire coming off the handle, and it now works perfectly. No charge.

    Answer from pro:

It is impossible to diagnose any job over the phone. The quote was for 3 jobs not 1. 1. repipe the entire drain, 2.replace all the components in your toilet tank, 3. install new valves for your outside hose tap, it included the service call and HST. You also recieved one hour service, a licensed technician, a fully stocked service truck, he wore shoe covers, he was courteous and professional, he diagnosed your problem, and he gave you a price upfront. That level of service still warrants a zero? We do not charge $1350 to replace a P-Trap. Our prices are fair and our service is exceptional. Thank you. - The Priority Team.

    Fixed two running toilets

I had two toilets that had issues. One kept running and the other was so bad it would not even fill up the tank. Kostis gave me a few options and fixed things in a short amount of time. He even mentioned some maintenance tips to prevent recurrence.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Jerry, thanks for trusting us with your home plumbing system. Relevant options that put our customer in control, is something we try to do on every call. This is one of the things that seperates us from the competiton. We thank you for your business and wish you the best in 2012. From the Priority team.

    Plumbing

I found Priority Plumbing & Drains and Greg the plumber to be very knowledgeable and he did an excellent work. The price of the repair was well explained before the work was done. Excellent work.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Carlos, Greg is the best service plumbing in Toronto hands down. It takes years of experience to handle service properly and they can't teach you 80% of the knowledge necessary in trade school. This is why we only do service work and hire only plumbers with extensive service experience. - Thank you for choosing Priority Plumbing - From the Priority Team.
