    Moving

Great service. We had 4 movers and one large truck, and the movers were all great. Very professional, hard working, and careful with all our stuff. They wrapped all the furniture in blankets and protected the couches in plastic, and they were pleasant and easy to work with. I highly recommend this company!

    Moving

We were delighted by the service provided by Rent-a-Son. Staff were courteous and professional. From the beginning, our moving coordinator Erika helped us navigate all the many challenges to our move from Toronto to Barrie, including helping to figure out an estimate (which very accurately reflected our final cost), as well as coordinating directly with building staff in both locations so as to secure space for loading and time for elevators. Our belongings were packed, transported and unpacked with not a single broken item, including a very special six-foot oil painting by my father. I would have no reservation in recommending Rent-a-Son to friends and family, and would gladly use their services in future. Thanks to Robert, Frieda, Houston, and all the others at Rent-a-Son for doing such a great job.

    Internal move

All our furniture and boxes got moved out of basement storage and into the right rooms in perfect condition and record time. This was our second time hiring Rent-a-son and the service from end-to-end was just as good as the first time: amazing! The co-ordinator (Hussein) made it easy to fit our budget and timing, and the team showed up right on time, worked like (really careful) slaves, got waaay more done than I thought possible in the time, AND they were really cheerful, easy-going guys. Great service, good value, and super people.

    Move

I had a good experience in general with Rent-A-Son for my within Toronto move on October 1, 2013. The move coordinator Hussain was very professional and courteous and sent me an in house estimator to come and visually estimate the amount of time, people and boxes required. The estimator was also very courteous, however in the end both the movers and myself realized that he underestimated the number of boxes required for the move. This resulted in the movers getting delayed as they had to hand carry small items. Hence a friend and myself had to scurry to get some bags and then help the movers stuff things in the bags, else we would be way over the stipulated time. Besides the usual furniture, I had some antique clocks. It is sad that one of the original bone hands was broken. In addition, one lamp shade and one plastic storage box was broken as well. However, in general the move was less stressful owing to these guys. Hussain even phoned me to find out how the move went. In general I would use this company again but would request more boxes than what the estimator says are needed.

    Moving

Found this great company here on homestars. Really well organized from the quote to the move coordinator to the move crew. All well coordinated and good communication. They moved all my goods quickly and leaving zero damage which was so important. I will be taking them again to move to my new home ready. Only 1 tiny snag , when the estimate and final invoice differed, I was not informed prior to finally being billed. I was very happy overall.

    Moving

These guys were amazing. The price was fair and they were very organized. They came with LOTS of blankets and covers and were very careful with all the breakables that we had. Highly recommended and will definitely use them the next time I need to move.

    Residential Move

I couldn't be happier with the service I received from the Rent a Son team. The boys showed up on time, were respectful of our property and most importantly they took great care of our furniture. I was a little nervous heading into the move based on the poor reputation of some moving companies, but after extensive research I decided to hire Rent-a-Son and I'm glad I did. I couldn't recommend them more. Great job!

Moving furniture to a different city

I had some furniture and boxes moved out of a house in Toronto, into another home near London Ontario. I had a great experience with the "Rent a Son" team. The movers were very helpful and fast. I felt very safe working with the moving team. They were young, very kind and helpful. It took me some time to work out my moving date over a three month period, based on work commitments. My contact at the office revised the quote for me several times very quickly and professionally. I was also given some options to make the quote less expensive. I was very happy with my overall experience with this company.

    Moving

We chose Rent-A-Son for our move from a 2-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom home in East York. They were definitely more expensive than some other movers, but their reviews were great and we didn't want to deal with any headaches, as we were in the middle of renovations on the house and had a new baby to care for. Jeff and Nick showed up on time, but accidentally parked at the rear of our apartment building instead of the front where the loading area was, so we didn't start exactly on time. They were young guys (really, like sons!), but they knew what they were doing. Once they were set up, they quickly wrapped up and moved our stuff down and into the truck with the help of my husband. They had more than enough wraps, tape and dollies to help and despite the size of some of our furniture, they were able to lift and move it all. They packed the truck efficiently and all of our stuff fit (this may have been because my husband specifically requested a 24' vs. 16' truck). Once at our house, they rolled out some carpets so they wouldn't ruin our floors and then unloaded the truck. They were accommodating when I asked them to move the truck so our neighbour could get their car out of their driveway. When our queen-sized mattress didn't quite fit up the stairs, they asked for permission before using some force to squish it up the stairwell. All in all, everything made it into the house and into the right room. One piece (that we wrapped, not them) got slightly nicked and there was a small mark on our basement ceiling, but other than those minor things, there was no other damage. Erika, the booker was helpful when we needed to re-schedule our move. She also worked with my husband to estimate how much time and how many sons we'd need; after some discussion about 2 vs. 3 sons, the amount of time she estimated was exactly correct. My husband did complain that the office tried to upsell us with things like mattress covers, art protectors, etc., but I can also imagine that for some, those products might be helpful. Unfortunately, in the end, they billed us for the extra 15 minutes at the beginning of the move, where the guys parked at the wrong end of our building, even though we had discussed not doing that. All in all, they were good and we were happy with our move, and Nick and Jeff's personalities helped make a trying day a bit easier, but I felt that the price was a bit high.
