I had my garage attic and walls filled by GNI. I requested they drill the holes in the walls all on the same level so I could cover the holes with trim from one end to the other. The walls are textured and would be difficult to repair. They drilled the holes with a 10 inch difference from one end to the other. I suppose they don't carry a tape measure. Another issue I have is they emptied the hopper of fiberglass into the attic before refilling with cellulose. I ordered cellulose for a reason and didn't particularly appreciate having fiberglass blown in. I read after the fact that you shouldn't put cellulose on top of fiberglass because it is heavier. They explained it is ok because they top it with extra to ensure the r value but they can't tell me how much they topped it to ensure the appropriate r value. One 2 foot section of wall had 4 holes drilled and left open without filling. They can't explain why. I had to spray some foam in to fill the holes to stop the wind from blowing in. I last spoke to Bernie who said he would call midweek (last week) to setup a time to come and look at the walls. He never called. I left him 2 messages at the end of the week and he never called back. I called yesterday and he didn't answer but sent me a text saying "please text me". I did but he never responded. I called the office and expressed my dismay and requested someone call me but no one has called. I hired GNI because I had another house entirely insulated (drill and fill and attic) years ago with good results. I will never recommend or hire GNI again.

The technicians did a very good job. They were very polite and cleaned up after themselves. They were quick and efficient. I'd be happy to recommend them to friends and family.

Called GNI, they were very professional and answered all my questions. I was very impressed by the installation specialist Daniel. He advised me on all necessary measures I needed to do before foaming. Thoroughly impressed with the before and after care once the job was completed.

Absolutely amazing service!! Henry and Sean were very friendly and professional and did amazing work! We couldn't be happier with the service we received and noticed a difference in our additions warmth within the first 2 days. We are looking forward to having a steady temperature in our house thanks to the spray foam insulation and could not recommend Great Northern enough!

I had insulation installed in my basement by GNI and draft proofing. The two young fellows, were so good at their job and obviously had lots of experience. They worked together extremely well and I found them to be very professional in all aspects of the work they were doing. Great Job. I would highly recommend Great Northern Insulation. They cleaned up and I have no complaints whatsoever.

the two guys showed up on time. they were polite and knew what they were doing. they took their boots off in the house! they finished about when they said they would. completely cleaned up any debris and swept the floor. the attic looks great. they caulked the doors and windows wherever necessary. great job all in all. definitely recommend GNI!

We had no idea that our condo in the upper two bedrooms could feel this warm and comfortable. From the moment we met Gary and the two insulation installers our life changed. Recently topped up my attic with blown in fiber glass insulation. The sales person was patient, answered all my questions and I thought I got a reasonable quote for the job of adding baffles and insulation, and the work was scheduled soon after. Two guys came in, on time, covered the floor area, did the job nicely; everything appeared professional and well done, I thought. Over the next weekend I crawled in to inspect my newly insulated attic. Only then I realized they just added baffles and covered the attic with insulation. A very basic blown-in insulation task is to block the rafter area where the baffles are inserted so that loose insulation won’t fall out and cover the soffit vents. Without it, airflow to attic would be blocked, moisture cannot get out, and very soon the attic will be likely get moldy. I called them explaining my findings; again the staff was very nice and sent the guys to take care of my issue. They did not make me wait long, guys came and put blockers where they had put in baffles. I still think they should have blocked all rafter spaces where attic-wall meets the roof. Without it, I still see the possibility of blown-in loose fill falling and covering the soffit vents. From what I know, this has to be the basics of insulation. I think company overall is professional, customer focused and intent to do a good job, but staff in my case were definitely under trained. This is a difficult area for home owner's inspection and you are rely on 'professionals', but I don’t think that was done in my case.

Requested spray foam insulation for a bonus room above the garage. Small hi-cup and a second visit - promptly addressed and resolved. Crews were polite, communicative, careful. Job was performed above expectations.

I received an estimate to have insulation added to the attic. Current R value was only R10/12. Vermiculite was discovered and it was recommended that a sample be tested for asbestos before moving forward; for the protection of the workers and for those in the household. I received an estimate to bring the R value up to the new build standard of R60 with blown cellulose. He provided information on rebate programs as well. After receiving the ‘all clear’ results from the lab, GNI came within the week to install the insulation. They did a great job. GNI was also the most economical of the 3 companies that had provided me with an estimate. Even though the discovery of potential asbestos was not what I wanted to hear, I appreciated John’s honesty about finding the vermiculite. The representatives from the other two companies never mentioned the vermiculite. I fully recommend GNI for your insulation needs.
