Hi ..recently had my shop / barn insulated , blown in .. The guys did a great job . very professional !!! Had a little misunderstanding , with what was being used to form the crib , i think they called it , had a discussion with Gary and resolved the issue, with NO PROBLEMS ...Thank you ...Great Job to all ...Dan

Everyone at GNI has been great. The team is very professional and took the time to answer all my questions. They showed up on time and were very efficient in getting to job completed. The people at GNI were friendly and a pleasure to work with, from calling in to set up a quote, to the estimator, and the install team. I found that their prices were fair and the team cleaned up when the job was completed. No mess left behind. i would recommend them and would definitely use them again in the future.

My old furnace broke down during the cold snap in January. My HVAC guy sold me a new furnace and mentioned an enbridge rebate, which required 1 other energy upgrade. I needed to get a top up on my attic insulation so I choose that to get a total rebate of $1,000 for both the furnace and attic updates. I asked an energy auditor for the company Barrie locals tend to use and are satisfied with. The auditor suggested another company. I had one of their reps come out, very friendly guy, and he gave me a quote. I felt it was about $200 too high, which is fine if they are delivering higher value. So I thought I would check homestars to see if they were worth the extra cost. They appeared to have 4 reviews, two of which were negative and two others which, I don't know, felt fake to me. At any rate, I spotted Great Northern Insulation. They seemed to be very active in Barrie and had a ton of reviews which were mostly excellent. So, I gave them a shot. Here's the important points: 1. I was quoted at $1.50 per sq ft + HST, which included installation of moore vents - the competition unnecessarily added the vents at an extra cost 2. Great Northern was available to do the work within two days of acceptance of the contract 3. I was sent a proper, clearly itemized quote and contract so I would know what to expect and what to do 4. There was a bit of confusion, but there were multiple staff available to answer me right away by phone and email 5. When they arrived, Tom was super polite, transparent, friendly, enthusiastic and efficient. Brian and Drew were also on site to move things along quickly and were happy to take before and after photos for me. They too, were very friendly and efficient. Best of all, these guys CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND LEFT THE WORK SPACE IN BETTER SHAPE THAN I DID BEFORE THEY GOT THERE. So here's the bottom line: the leadership and high standards are clearly evident in the systems and staff. This is a business that works very hard to deliver quality service at competitive pricing. It is no small matter that the staff are friendly, the job is done right and the pricing is competitive. Real estate is wrought with people trying to be sneaky, dishonest, work quickly but inefficient and sacrificing quality, many labourers do not need social skills to get paid, and so on. So look, I would recommend this company to anyone because they just tick all the boxes. Great job and thank you for bringing me VALUE. My one and only suggestion, is to include the date of work to be completed in the contract itself, not afterward. My thinking was, yeah I agree with all of this but there's no date! Why should I commit to this if I don't know when and how long the work will be? Again, 10/10. Thank you for making it easy and doing what you said you would.

This is the second job they have done for me. They are professional-organized-knowledgeable . They came on the time and cleaned up when they were finished. 5 star service. They took pictures for me and emailed them to me when they were finished.

What an experience!! I have be doing renovations to my home since july of last year. Insulation was top of mind as of late. I went to my local Costco and got information for Great Northern Insulation!!! What a team...from Glen sqeezing me in late night instead of going home to his family from y free in home consultation to Tom and Brian at the Barrie branch. Amazing services, great education of what was done. They left the place clean and work professionally. It's always great as a homeowner when you make a great decision on the products, services and the contractors used. The price was right, the service was right and the product was right. And did I mention the cost was right too???? I even get a $120.00 gift card from Costco. All work completed in under 3 hours!!! wow...so happy. One happy guy.

I had initially noticed about a 4-5 degree temp difference (colder in the winter and hotter in the summer) on the second floor compared to the main floor. After further investigating the result was that my attic insulation needed a top up as well as some light fixtures that needed to be air sealed. My insulation was sitting at a R-20 value. I had the team at Great Northern Insulation top it up to R-50 value with blown in fiberglass. Everyone involved from calling in to set up a quote, to the estimator, and the install team were great. I found that their prices were fair, the team was on time and cleaned up once completed. They took the time to show me pictures of the completion stages of air sealing the light fixtures, plumbing and air vents. It has been about a month now since the insulation has been completed. I have noticed a significant difference, the temperature is more consistent throughout the house and my furnace is running less during the colder days. I would recommend and use them again for any future work.

We had insulation put in our roof. We did have a few issues ; for example, not enough insulation was put in and we ended up with some cold drafts. Our house felt colder than before the insulation was added. A extremely competent and very nice man called Sammie came to our house and fixed things. He added 4 more inches of insulation that was missing and that we had already paid for. He also insulated an area, that should of been insulated by GNI, that has corrected the cold draft problem. Pros: they corrected their mistakes. Cons: the mistakes should never had been made in the first place. Always check any companies work to see if you get the insulation you paid for.

The sales rep Bill was very professional and knowledgeable. Henry and Dave arrived at the scheduled time and were very professional in explaining to me exactly what they were going to do. They also answered all my questions as they proceeded through the process of increasing the level of insulation in the attic. Contrary to what I expected they were very neat and tidy. Nothing for me to clean up. When they had finished the job I mentioned to Dave that i was going to have the existing soffits removed and new ventilation holes installed. He told me it wasn't necessary because they had uncovered them during this process and all was good. An instant savings of a couple of thousand dollars. Very, very satisfied with GNI and Henry and Dave especially!
