Garage Ceiling Finally Insulated Right!
It's December and we booked sprayfoam to finally deal with the cold bedroom over the double garage. A competitor was able to book us a few weeks earlier so we went with them. It was cold and getting colder. The day before the install, the drywall and insulation had to be removed. Done! This revealed all the gaps and explained why we had been leaking energy for 17 years. But, the next day, the other guys had a truck issue and offered to rebook us two more days later.......with temps of minus 14 and minus 17 in the forecast and no insulation in 450 sq feet of my house! I told them they needed to do better but they had no urgency. My furnace was running constantly. I called Alex at Great Northern and asked if they could possibly come. The next morning I got a call, wow, they had a cancellation and came that afternoon, at minus 9 degrees, they saved us from the minus 21 wind chill that night. With satisfaction I got to cancel the competitor! Tyrone and Adam did a fantastic job! They also sympathized and said if their truck had a problem, they would have come after hours to sort this out and not leave us in that predicament! Thank you Great Northern! That is how it’s done! Word to the wise, book your improvements in the spring or fall if you can and just call GNI. Their quote was better than Insta too.
