Basement waterproofing, chimney repair & tuckpointing

I can't say enough good things about this company, and the people I interacted with throughout the process of waterproofing our crumbling brick foundation. They get a 10 out of 10 and here is why: 1. Responsiveness: I never, never waited for a response - not just when pricing the job with Brad during downpour season when most contractors wouldn't even call back, but during the job, when we had questions, and even afterwards when we needed a bit more backfill. No matter the time of day or night, the basement foreman Domenic was quick to respond via text or call. 2. Professionalism: Domenic and his team of a father & sons (Eugene, Alex and Vlad) doing our excavation and waterproofing were knowledgable, professional, and courteous throughout. I had no concerns that they knew exactly what they were doing and how to fix our issues. Same goes for the great team on our tuckpointing and chimney. 3. Results: our basement is dry for the first time in probably 90 years. Our chimney is beautifully rebuilt. And our bricks have never looked better. We got a lot of quotes. These guys are the ones we picked - they were head and shoulders above the rest. If we could give them 11 out of ten, we would.

    Masonry Repair

Andy and team did an excellent job. They were able to repair all of the masonry within a one day period, much less than the 2 - 3 days original expected. Brad was a pleasure to deal with and quickly identified exactly what was required. Andy's team delivered exactly what was contract.

Thanks Sheryl! When Ronaldo brings his full team to a job it is astonishing what they can do in one day. --Andy

    Brick work, parging, interlock

I would highly recommend A&A masonry for any brickwork, parging, and interlock work you need done. Brad in Sales was very diligent and patient and made sure all the work was documented properly and communicated to me when I would receive a call to schedule the work. Shortly thereafter, Andy called and scheduled the work. Andy was extremely pleasant and helpful and accommodated my busy schedule. Dwight showed up on time and expertly did the work. He was very diligent and inspected his work thoroughly before asking me to take a look. I give A&A Masonry a 10 out of 10 and I would definitely recommend and call them again. Thanks guys! Jennifer

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Jennifer! Dwight told me the other day that he stays with us (he is very much in demand) because we are organized, something which is somewhat unusual in our trade. --Andy

    Front porch

A & A Masonry did a beautiful job on the stone for our front porch. It was a large and complicated job involving both masonry and metal work (including supporting posts and metal railings) and they handled it all very professionally. They were very professional, efficient and friendly and we are completely satisfied with their work. We would definitely recommend A & A Masonry to anyone who would like to have some beautiful stone work done.

    Answer from pro:

    Parging and Brick Repair

A & A Masonry lived up to the reviews on Homestars. We had crumbling parge and many cracked bricks and mortar in need of repair. We dealt with Steve who provided a fair quote and he was always available when a question needed to be answered or a concern needed to be addressed. Andy was a pleasure to deal with and made me feel very confident in choosing this company to complete the work at our home. Dwight completed the work in a very quick and timely fashion. His attention to detail was impressive. His friendly and professional manner was by far the best I have encountered to date. He is a genuine guy who takes pride in his craft. I have no issues whatsoever recommending A &A Masonry and would use them again without any hesitation.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Scott! Running this busy company is fun for me, because I have a great team, and somehow this seems to attract great customers. --Andy

    Foundation Repair and Waterproofing

After the winter of 13/14 we suffered numerous leaks to our foundation that resulted in flooding to our recently renovated basement. The work required a great deal of foundation repair (hydraulic cement), waterproofing and installation of a sump-pump. The work was completed on-time with minimal disruption. I was particularly impressed with the company's straightforward, no short-cut approach. One minor issue post-completion was fixed even though it was stated in the contract that it was not their responsibility.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Richard! Dominic is particularly strict about upholding our standards, and that is vital when it comes to waterproofing. --Andy

    Tuckpointing

We hired A&A to fill in the mortar where there was none between the bricks around the whole exterior of our house. Not only did they do the job very quickly and beautifully, they were able to pull out 3 vents and a large pipe that were not being used anymore, replace the areas with the same colour brick and it looks like the vents were never there! We would recommend A&A to anyone!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Liz! Sometimes I go to Joe's jobs and have a hard time spotting his work because it so perfectly matches the existing masonry. --Andy
