    Brickwork and Parging

Satisfaction with A&A began with my estimate meeting with Brad. I had a long list of masonry items needing attention but was asking about only 2 because they were (what I thought) the most expensive and in need of immediate attention. He informed me that I didn't really need the level of repair I had been led to believe and his estimate was below the minimum the company requires ($1200.00) to take on an assignment. I trotted out another larger item that brought me to the minimum which was far below what I had budegeted for the work. As a result I was able to have an estimate for parging my indoor basement wall which was also reasonable. Sign me up! Oh, and no deposit required thank you. I was in no rush to have the work done so was put in the queue. About 3 weeks later Andy called to book the next day. Joe and James showed up bright and early and decided to begin in the basement. It took them 1 full day in cramped and uncomfortable quarters to complete the work. It was done to a much higher specification than I was expecting too. Next day all the exterior work was done. They clearly explained what they were doing and why. Very personable young men. Also extremely tidy. Both indoors and out were cleaner than when they started. Obviously I would recommend A&A to anyone for this sort of work. The company is very commited to customer service and makes a follow-up call to ensure everything is to the customers standards.

    Tuck Pointing and Brick repair.

SERVICE and QUALITY is what these guys are all about. Corrine, Andy Jim, THANK YOU so much for saving the sale of my home. Without your quality and timely work, the buyer's would've have backed out of the sale. Once the work was done they couldnt even notice there was a crack in our exterior wall in the first place. My wife and I would like to personally thank you for how quick and efficient you guys were in coming out and getting the job done. In this day and age where it seems like the consumer always get the short end of the stick, it was an absolute pleasure to have you guys prove that wrong. Once again Thank you Thank you Thank you, and we will be reccomending you to anyone who has any sort of masonary issues. In fact I will be giving you a call, as we may need some brick work done on our new home. Darren & Andra

brick in window, tuck and point

I needed a window filled in with brick for my kitchen as well as minor cracks filled in all around the house. Leo and his helper were polite and very helpful. Leo worked very hard to match the brick colour and was very successful. They did excellent work and cleaned up and left everything as they found it. I would definitely recommend AA and Leo without hesitation.

    Flagstone porch & concrete sidewalk

A big thank you to Andy at A & A for an absolutely perfect job. I had asked for my crumbling porch to be replaced with a larger one in flagstone and for the existing sidewalk to be dug up and replaced with new concrete. The result was outstanding. Andy went out of his way to ensure that I was always aware of the progress of the project. The quality of the workmanship was excellent and my neighbours are still commenting on the beautiful porch and sidewalk. As well, Andy had the wrought iron railing hand-built to accommodate what I had asked for and yet again, another perfect result. A man true to his word, Andy promised to replace the Japanese maple tree that was accidentally run over by a digger and as a matter of fact, I just returned from a shopping trip to Humber Nurseries with Andy, who without hesitation, picked up the bill for the new tree. Thanks, Andy! I would highly recommend A & A for your next project - a professionally run business and everyone who worked on the project was polite, friendly, answered all my questions and all extremely talented.

Rebuild chimney, tuckpointing walls and porch pillars

The whole experience with A&A Masonry was great. From the point at which Brad gave a detailed and competitive quote through to Andy calling me to schedule the work ahead of the promised date to the professionalism of Joe's tuckpointing crew and Renaldo's chimney work, this was a terrific job. The crews did great work, matched replacement bricks, tinted the mortar to match existing, answered all my questions and left the place as clean as they found it. Their price wasn't the cheapest but it wasn't the most expensive either and I felt I got great value in the end. I read the other reviews on Homestars before hiring them and it worked out great.

Thanks Chris! I'll pass this on to my guys. --Andy

    Chimney rebuild; deteriorated bricks replacement

We greately appreciate the work done by A & A Masonry. We needed to have the chimney rebuild and some bricks replaced at the corner of the garage and at the corner of the house. The problem was that we had the deck attached to this corner and it partially blocked the access. A & A Miasonry did great job through the whole process. The estimator was prompt, effective and knowledgable. The quote was very reasonable. And they were ready to find the way to work around the deck (some other companies replied - remove your deck and call us back; we definitely never called them again). Scheduling was also great. They called us to check what dates work for us. They sent one team which checked the deck and the access and recommended to get another team with more suitable equipment. I was afraid it would put us back in line. But other team came the next day and did all the work. They not only did the great job for chimney and brick replacement but were also very careful with the deck. They had to remove one wall, and they install it back so you never say it was even touched. Also the cleaning was great; they didn't leave it till the end but kept the area as clean and debries free as possible during the whole project. Thanks a lot!!!

    Chimney Repair

A&A stood up to their motto "We deliver what we promise". From the first phone call right to completion of the job, I knew what to expect, was kept informed - and the workmanship was perfect. The site was left cleaner than when they started (all the bricks were flaking and falling off). Would have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you A&A

    Answer from pro:

Sometimes it's harder than expected to deliver what we promise, but it's always worth the effort! Thanks. --Andy

Remove corbel and brick top of chimney. Replace cap

Never thought I would get the job done so quickly. Brad who gave me the quote was very knowledgeable and was key to our decision to go with A&A. We thought we would have to wait till May but we got a call in late March and the next day my chimney was fixed before I got home from work. Clean up was excellent and a special request regarding a cemented basketball pole was completed in a very professional manner. I liked the fact that my chimney cap was painted and put on the new chimney rather than thrown away and a new one installed when I really didn't need a new one.
