    Basement

    HPT was recommended by a good friend. I was very happy to have this company to paint my basement apartment for my 3 teens to hangout. I met with Brian to choose colors/finishes and it was very apparent he knows the business well. He made suggestions that I would have not of thought of otherwise and I was very happy with the way everything turned out. The crew was timely and professional, and put my rooms back together carefully and cleanly. No touch-ups were needed and my teen's friends who come over always compliment the colors and clean lines. Thank you for a great job and experience!

    New condo painting

    This is a difficult review for me to write because the company really bent over backwards to address issues we experienced with our painting. I want to be clear that the majority of the painting was excellent and looks beautiful. It was a pleasure dealing with Brian the owner, Rick the manager, Terry the second painter, and Tina, the office manager. They deserve a special shout out. Our job was a hard one because it involved both painting blank rooms and touching up a poor paint job in other rooms that had previously been done by a friend. The painter who did most of the work challenged me on almost every part of the job: - Tried to convince me only one coat of paint was needed which was bizarre given that the brush/roller strokes were obvious and two coats is standard (as confirmed by the manager and the second painter) and was part of the quote. - Complained endlessly after getting a parking ticket to the point where he made me feel like it was my fault. I felt guilty and ended up offering cash for the ticket which he took (the company righted this immediately). - Refused to take home his supplies (including upright ladders and large bins) over a weekend even though I specifically asked the owner during my quote for the supplies to be removed over the weekend because I was hosting an event. My condo is small and the supplies took up a large area in the hallway in front of the door. The painter was adamant that he did not want to have to pack up and move things again because getting from parking to my condo took some effort. Rather than argue with him, I caved because again he made me feel lousy about it. He put a tarp over the supplies and equipment. - Lost one of the screws to a light switch plate in my hallway and shrugged it off when I pointed it out. It was never replaced. A minor thing, but small details like that matter. I mean, where did it go when they removed it? - Complained about my water not getting hot enough when cleaning his supplies and made comments about how expensive my paint was (i.e., that I could get the same colours for a quarter of the price). - Pushed back quite a bit on the touch ups and frankly didn't do a great job on those. I get it. Redoing someone else's work is awful and I'm sure he wanted to only do a modicum of effort on those. But complaining to the homeowner wasn't the way to do it. - Generally made me feel like a huge annoyance throughout the whole project. This was the first time I've ever addressed concerns with management and I debated whether to do so because, as I mentioned, most of the painting was great. They sent a supervisor out to review my concerns and he fixed up some spots in short order. I was very pleased with their immediate response and professionalism. In particular, Rick the manager was fabulous to deal with as was Terry, the painter sent to fix the issues from the first painter.

    Porch, Bathroom and Bedroom Painting

    I selected HPT as they seemed to have a great rapport online and in the media. I was shocked to find out that a $4K paint job was not given the proper guidance and follow-up that I would expect from the sales pitch and company sales materials. HPT needs to look into their communication process. Work was not completed to scope on 3 of 5 days of work. The painter onsite was not clear on all details - sanding, ceiling paint, front porch colour locations, etc. The job was only followed-up on because I was concerned about having our newly built $7K porch painted. Often times I didn't get email responses back from my concerns post-paint day, but they were addressed the following day. They clearly advised the painter, but never followed-up with me. The owner and 2 project managers became my contacts as I would get various responses throughout the beginning of the process. Roles were not clear and no one followed-up to see if I was happy about the service once complete until I inquired about invoicing 5 days after. The work looks good, but the communication, level of professionalism and customer respect was very poor and for these reasons I would not recommend working with this company.

    Interior and exterior painting

    Overall I am satisfied with the job this company provided. After voicing my (numerous) concerns they did follow through and fix the problem areas. The owner of the company is very concerned about customer satisfaction and negative reviews. I am appreciative of his good intentions and follow through. However, I feel that I must be honest about the overall experience. It took a very long time to achieve a satisfactory result. Problems with communication made the process somewhat unpleasant. I am sorry that I cannot give a stellar review, as it would not be honest or helpful to this company nor to future consumers.

However, the paint and wood condition to begin with was in really rough shape and had been painted numerous times. So our standard surface preparation would be to do what we did, which we strongly stand behind with our 2 year warranty.     Exterior painting

    Excellent service and quality performance was impressive. Brian and his team is consideded one of the best and reliable. Especially his quick response and followup was very helpful to make this project very successful.

    A bit pricier but well worth it

    Excellent team to work with... Bryan is arguably one of the most honest contractors I have met. Thumbs up! Showed up on time every single day and did a lovely job overall.

    Commercial storefront paint job

    Very reliable and responsive company from the quote to the finished product. Bryan did a fantastic job painting our storefront and even did a bit extra that we asked him to do and was super nice! Clean, efficient and friendly.

    Exterior carpentry and painting

    I was happy to meet their seasoned professional painters who turned out to also be friendly, respectful and tidy. Their carpenter did an excellent job in replacing some rotten trim and creating some new requested trim. The whole job was very well-done, but best of all is that they aim to please. I would hire them in future.

    Indoor and Outdoor Painting

    Great experience. Painters were punctual, friendly and tidy. Work was done quickly and well. They weren't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. A great experience. I would recommend them!

    Exterior painting of town house complex

    The three gentleman were very courteous and respectful to the residents. Their work was extremely detailed with no obvious signs of over-painting beyond the required areas as outlined prior to the start of the project. During the entire two week period, they were sensitive to the individual residents' time requirements and managed their workload accordingly while accommodating our specific needs. With the job complete, the entire workspace was cleaned and remained as prior to their arrival.
