    Stove Repair

    Peter serviced our stove the other day and he was fantastic. So friendly and professional. He even saved me money on the service by finding alternate solutions. I was very impressed and would highly recommend Modern Appliance.

    Clothes dryer repair

    Professional, punctual, offered an accurate estimate. Suggested some follow-up on a dryer vent issue. He was unable to repair but recommended another well-reviewed service here on Homestars.

    Dishwasher Installation

    I asked Peter over to install a new dishwasher. As always, he was kind, courteous and did a great job. There's a reason I keep calling Peter again and again whenever I need help with my appliances.

    Fridge repair

    Peter was wonderful to deal with and did a great job fixing our fridge. He came to assess the problem and returned when the part came in. Reasonable charges and efficient job. I would recommend highly.

    Stove (induction) Repair

    Peter promptly responded when I had requested a quote via HomeStars. He was generous with his time, his advice and was reachable via text, phone and email (yes I had used all 3). He even suggested that it might not be worth repairing the stove, given the estimated cost to replace an electronic circuit board. Further to that, he took the time to research the actual costs and shared it with me. He advised me that the repair would not guarantee that something won't go wrong with the other board. I felt very comfortable making the decision to spring for a new unit vs. repairing - all because Peter took the time to lay out the costs and options. Business is about relationships and trust. Peter has my trust and if I ever need repairs, he'll get the call AND my $$$ because his approach is about the long term relationship not the quick buck. I wish there were more people like him in this world! Oh....and if you're looking for a stove, don't choose an Induction stove - they're so costly to repair and you need special cookware that is also relatively expensive.

    Dishwasher and Microwave

    Called two companies and never returned my call. Looked further and found Modern Appliances and decided to give a call based on the good ratings. Talked to Peter same day almost right away he gave me some instructions as in sending the images of the issues and model numbers of the appliances. He basically troubled shoot over the phone!!! Friendly and knowledgeable what a relief it was. I had two broken appliances and my family was in distress. That same day I sent the pictures to Peter and he did the rest. Ordered the parts and came to my home a few days later. Fixed the microwave and the dishwasher no problem. Peter is very very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I can't wait to have something else broken so I can see him again! IoI thank you so so much for helping my family we really appreciated your work. We need people like you in our community, people that are not out there only for the money but are willing to help others. Keep it up Peter. What a great pleasure was to meet you. God bless...

    Tumble dryer repair

    Peter arrived on time, with the parts he thought he'd need based on my description and the short video I sent him complete with audio of the rubbing noise problem. He took the dryer apart and found that the parts weren't needed as there was a zipper jammed in the dryer. Only charges were for labour. There was a minor issue with my belt switch failing and he could only tell after he had reassembled and reinstalled the gas dryer. The machine wouldn't run and Peter just thought it through and said the switch must have failed in disassembly. He just said "these things happen" with a rueful grin, shook his head and proceeded to take the machine back out, apart, confirm and bypass the problem. He then reinstalled the dryer. It works great. Nice guy, knows what he's doing and does it well. Honest and professional. Someone with less ethics might have just gone ahead and installed the parts he'd brought especially for my dryer as we would not have known, but not Peter. He just explained what he'd done and the bill reflected time spent. Peter is now our first call for appliance repair.

    Bosch Washer Repair

    Our Bosch NEXXT Premium washer was acting up & after calling and emailing another repair company with no call back, I called the second on my list and left a message for Peter Petrou. He called me back within a few hours and I outlined the symptoms of our problem. As suspected, he agreed that the controller needed replacing and told me that he would locate the part and call me back when he had an idea of cost and delivery time. Peter called back next day, told me the part was $750 and with labour and Tax I was looking at over a $900 bill. We both agreed that a new washer was in order and I asked him if I owed him anything for his time. Peter said no thanks, and good luck. An honest man who keeps his promises is rare enough these days that he is worthy of praise. I will call Peter Petrou of Modern Appliance in a heartbeat should I need an appliance repaired in future.

    Fixed my dishwasher over the phone!

    I called to make an appointment since my dishwasher wasn't draining. Peter called me back shortly after and suggested something that I could do to fix it myself. It turns out it worked perfectly. While I didn't have to book Peter to come and fix anything today I now know which person I'm going to call for any appliance repairs in the future. Fantastic experience.

    Fixed dishwasher

    Peter is an honest, fair and extremely knowledgable person. He has so much experience that he fixed my dishwasher without changing the part and it works better than it did before. I would highly recommend his services.
