We had a really challenging problem with a wet basement in the middle of a 149-year old row unit. We had 5 contractors in and who all said different things and gave us crazy different quotes for different work. We were pretty confused and it took us some time to figure out that what Dave said made the most sense even though the scope of his quote was less than some of the others. Boy are we glad we chose him. He was super helpful and made a number of suggestions that were outside the scope of his work (and even helped us to implement them). He was genuinely motivated to help us, rather than finish his contract and move on. Its been one year and we had a dry basement all spring. We just had a city water main break and pump water into our neighbour's yard all night. Our neighbour has a flooded basement and ours is bone dry. Very very happy we chose Dave!

Top-notch work. Clearly, the repair and installation were done professionally. The quality and extent of work done exceeded expectations. I recommend 100%. Dave and his team dug out the foundation along the back wall of my house (approximately 155 feet), replaced the weeping tile, re-sealed the wall, installed appropriate insulation, installed fabrene membrane, back-filled with new clear-stone. The work was done quickly and cleanly. His team was excellent.

Home located in Merivale area, had been recommended Dave by a friend who had used him for foundation work in their home last year. Outer wall needed sealing and I asked Dave to give me his opinion and a second quote etc. Dave was quick and direct with his assessment, and as I wanted the work completed quickly he fitted this task in around his other work schedules. Workman on the day of work were punctual, did a great job, and left the area where work had been undertaken professionally completed. Very well priced in regard to competitors. After the work had been completed a neighbour told me they watched the foreman and team work and were very impressed with the workmanship they saw, efficient, professional and completed well.. very pleased with the work done and have already referred the company - overall 10 out of 10...

Great job! Foundation wall is bombproof. Quote and work were done quickly and accurately. Meetings were all on time. Different options were presented and discussed, with pros and cons explained. At our request Dave was able to accelerate the job to reduce impact on a landscaping project next door. Thumbs up.

Fast, reliable, excellent repair. Good price. Can't say much more. I'm very satisfied. Total time for the repair was less than two hours and they were able to accommodate my request for a late afternoon start.

Dave was very honest and professional about the work that needed to be done. Had a few cracks that needed to be repaired. He and his crew (Shane) arrived on time and I had no issues with how the work went. He also warranted his work for 10 years in writing. Would easily recommend his company to others.

I received 4 quotes for my foundation repair work. Dave came in at the most comprehensive and detailed yet the cheapest. He was the only one with a realistic proposition to deal with a carport post that left no chance that extra costs may be incurred. He also noted that I could not live in my house as it was and was able to move around his schedule to fit me in sooner. From when he came on site to give the initial estimate til he responded with answers to my questions following the completion of the work, Dave was knowledgeable and professional, always taking the time to make sure that I understood the information. Despite that I had no previous experience in foundation repair, Dave and his team were patient and respectful, and answered every question (and there were many!) that I asked. I had a number of other tradesmen as well as interested neighbours that visited during the work and they all were as impressed as I was as the level of quality of the work and the materials used.

Our home is located in Ottawa’s West Wellington Village. An inspection confirmed moisture problems in the basement so we purchased knowing we had to solve this issue. The house has a ruble foundation that was not properly maintained; the eavestroughing was poorly installed or missing and the grade sloped towards the house in some areas. We contacted three foundation companies and found Dave Marcotte to be the best choice for us for a few reasons. We felt comfortable using Dave’s services because he spoke to our level of knowledge about the work required; we were happy to hear that we wouldn’t have to remove our front porch or the back deck to get the excavation done (his crew dug underneath them); he provided references in the neighbourhood and answered all our questions promptly. Finally, the cost to do the work was in line with the estimates our general contractor has given us as well. The work included the excavation and removal of old soil material around the perimeter of the house down to the foundation base excluding an area at the back of the home where we have an addition; cutting the driveway; patching the exterior walls below grade as required; applying waterproofing materials and a membrane to the walls; installing a weeping system tube with reverse flow valve; putting foam insulation board on the foundation below grade; back filling with crushed stone; topping to grade on one side of the house with river stone. The old parging around the house was removed and redone. Part of our front lawn had been damaged by the excavating equipment; Dave and his crew removed the remaining sod, put down some top soil and sodded the area. We opted to have our weeping system connected to the city storm sewer system rather than using a sump pump. We replaced our sanitary pipe to the street and replace our old lead water service given that all three services were in the same trench leading to the street. A separate contractor and plumber were required to do different parts of the job; the coordination of tasks worked well. Dave offered to cut the driveway in a clean line so that we could put either paving blocks or stones where the asphalt was removed. His crew was onsite as expected and the work progressed well. The perimeter of the house was properly cleaned up when they were done and additional top soil was put in for flower beds. 5 months later, we are pleased with our dry basement. We would not hesitate to recommend Dave Marcotte and his team to other home owners.

Dave Marcotte and his crew did exceptional work. Never having done any below-grade work, I did not know what to expect but Dave outlined the work to be done very clearly. They started and finished the job on schedule. The crew was professional and left the premises clean and safe at the end of each day. I would highly recommend Dave Marcotte.
