    Repair damaged cinder block wall

The previous owners had removed half a supporting cinder block wall. Contractors did not want to give a firm quote because unusual situation. Marcotte invoice was lower than the estimate because fewer issues uncovered. He is honest, knowledgeable and his staff are excellent. They got the job done faster than we thought possible, courteous and cleaned up! We are very satisfied with the results.

    Foundation repair

A wonderful end to a bad situation. Finding out we had three cracks in the foundation of our older home was, to say the least, not something my wife and I wanted to hear but it was something we had to address, and quickly., We invited several companies out to bid on the project but after talking to Dave, with his no nonsense approach convinced us that he was the man for the job. To begin with Dave showed up on time ( a big plus in my evaluation as many of the others did not), took one look at the situation and reassured us that the damage was not nearly as severe as we were told by the other companies we had out.(He did qualify his statements by saying we wold need to excavate before making a final determination, but his approach was by far the best we experienced. Once we had our end of things ironed out, Dave was out quickly to perform the exploratory excavation, and had his engineer out the next morning to confirm the works that had to be done. Within two days after getting the engineer's report, Dave and his crew were on site getting the full excavation done filling the cracks and waterproofing the exposed foundation. The next day his crew was out to finish the job of insulating the foundation, back-filling and cleaning up the site. He and his crew were very professional while still being friendly and accommodating throughout the whole process and the end result is a fully repaired foundation. Dave handled the entire job, getting the dig site marked for gas and sewer lines, fixing the cracks, and finishing up the foundation waterproofing and insulation, cleaning up afterwards, and even hauled away the old dirt and asphalt. I highly recommend him and his crew.,

    Repair leaks in foundation walls

We hired Dave Marcotte to repair a number of problem areas on our older home, which has both stone and cinder block foundation (house built in three sections 1920-1970). Dave and his crew did an excellent job, were very professional and restored the site exactly as described in the original quote. He did extra work both at my request and due to unexpected probems exposed by the excavations, but was very reasonable in the extra charges. He was also very cautious with one area of our stone foundation which required a poured concrete wall to avoid collapse. I would certainly hire Dave again and highly recommend his company for foundation repairs.

Foundation waterproofing and basement floor lowering

Dave Marcotte and his crew did outstanding work at our home. I would recommend him without hesitation for any size project of any technical complexity. This was a relatively large-scale project with a basement surface area of over 1700 sq ft of very thick concrete that needed to be broken-up and removed by hand in order to lower the floor. The foundation then needed to be waterproofed from the outside, most of which was also dug-out by hand. Dave has very high work ethics and values work being done properly. His enthusiastic 'fluorescent' crew was in early consistently everyday to start the work with Dave onsite to supervise and help out. (Yes, the old man can still haul a wheelbarrow full of concrete!). When the work was done, the site was left tidy and a special attention was dedicated to repair signs of the unavoidable wear and tear to the landscape. In the end, Dave's initial quote reflected perfectly the work that was actually done with no surprises. Thanks Dave to you and your crew for this outstanding result! Kind regards, Marc and Kristin

    Foundation repair

Dave Marcotte of Dave Marcotte Foundations repaired a cracked foundation and revamped drainage around our 1960s home. Dave is very responsive and completely service oriented; he wants you to understand the scope of the work and wants you to be happy with the job. Dave had his work crew arrive when he said they would and they finished when he said they would. His crew worked tirelessly and never complained about the clay they were digging by hand. My questions were always answered and details were explained which gave me the confidence that the job was being done properly. Without hesitation I would recommend Dave and his crew. Thanks Dave!

foundation waterproofing and sewer line upgrade

Dave did the full-scale foundation waterproofing and sewer work for our 85 year old Rockcliffe home. It was an excellent and uncommon experience, as his company was on time, on estimate, very flexible with my on-the-fly adjustments, and meticulous not only in the work itself, but with the associated activities around our property. The outcome was excellent, and reflected exactly what we had planned and discussed the previous fall. Moreover, he was always a pleasure to deal with, and always immediately responsive to contact. I can recommend him without reservation.

Repair of cement block garage foundation

Our cement block garage foundation was failing - causing cracks and holes to develop inside and the outside walls to bow out. Last year we had several companies come to provide estimates for the repair work - the estimated costs varied tremendously and some were outrageous. Dave Marcotte was willing to talk to us about various options and to consider ways to possibly reduce costs. He was knowledgeable and forthcoming about the planned work and what would be involved. He booked our work for early this spring and showed up on the day as promised. The work carried out was excellent and completed efficiently and in good time, the crew all pleasant and courteous, the work site cleaned up and tidied every day, and the whole area left in good shape on completion of the work including with topsoil and grass seed laid down where excavations and heavy machinery had been working. We were very pleased and impressed with the work and feel confident in recommending Dave Marcotte Foundations to others. We would definitely hire this company again.

    basement flooding fix

the weekend after we moved into our new house we found puddles and cracks all over the basement floor. A contractor told us we would probably be looking at a very expensive foundation treatment. We called a wet basement company that made several appointments and did not show up, simply wasting our time. I called Dave after reading all the great reviews here and he did not disappoint. He phoned back within 12 hours and came to assess the problem within a day. He gave us great advice and put our minds at ease that the problem was not our whole foundation leaking, but our sump was failing. He gave us an estimate and planned to get back that week even though he was very booked up. The next day he was proven correct when we woke to discover the sump had failed again and the basement was covered in water. I called Dave and even though it was Easter, he was there within an hour, he replaced the sump and said he would return to put a backup in that week. He was back to put in the backup within a couple of days and we have had a dry basement ever since. Thank goodness the other fellow never showed up! Dave is an outstanding contractor and boy does he know his stuff! He made a few other recommendations and pointed out some obvious flaws in drainage in our house that the building inspecor missed and I have absolute faith that he will get them sorted efficiently and for an excellent price. I wish all contractors were as reliable, friendly, efficient, concerned and reasonably priced! Hire this guy if you want exemplary service at the right price. You will not regret it.

    Foundation Crack Repair/Waterproofing

Spring thaw brought water into our basement; not a lot but enough to know it should not be there. I started to take the finished walls down and could not find the source so I started pulling up the tile on the basement floor and found a long crack. Easy enough fix I thought; fill the crack and put a sump pump in. Called Dave and he came to look and as we were talking sump pump locations he said he was not convinced that was the issue and started to methodically go through his process and asked me to take other sections of the wall down. Low and behold an 8 foot crack exactly where he thought it would be. I was lucky, the ground was only frozen about 1.5 feet so his team came out to repair and waterproof the area. His team was thorough, kept me involved in all the steps, and left my property exactly as is minus the leak! Lets face it, foundation repairs can be costly due to the amount of labor involved, however I would say what you are really paying for is Dave’s expertise to identify and solve your problem. In the end my basement is dry and I have peace of mind that the foundation was repaired and waterproofed and this issue will not be coming back to this area again. I am cautious with internet reviews but this one paid off and I would definitely recommend Dave Marcotte Foundations.

    4 cracks in basement foundation

The reviews on this site helped us to choose Dave Marcotte to help solve our leaky basement problem. We sought three quotes but found that Dave was the most helpful and the least expensive. His common sense approach to explaining our situation relieved my fears that our house was sinking (as suggested by another contractor). Dave also replaced a leaky downspout at no additional cost which saved us time and effort. He was timely, efficient, and left his workspace immaculate. Thank you, Dave!
