I contacted AtlasCare for an estimate to replace my existing central AC unit. My central AC unit was no longer working. AtlasCare was one of 4 companies that I received estimates from. Each company recommended that I replace my furnace and central AC together as my furnace was nearing the end of its life. Estimate/Quote - I completed the service request form on the AtlasCare website and within 2 hours I was contacted by a customer service rep to set up an in-home appointment with one of their sales reps. I was able to get an appointment for the next day. The sales rep, Daniel, arrived on time, unlike the other companies' sales reps who were all 10-15 mins late. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of my questions. He even contradicted some of the points/issues that the other companies' sales reps had mentioned (i.e. Furnace size & AC size vs the size of ducts in my home) and provided further information to support his position. Daniel provided some general advice on how to improve the airflow in my homes HVAC system as well which was greatly appreciated. Daniel/AtlasCare was the only company out of the 4 to provide me with a written quote outlining all of the work that they would be performing along with the brand/size/model of equipment that would be installed, etc. The other companies provided vague quotes (scribbles on product brochures, no equipment brand name mentioned in the quote, etc.) and their quotes did not clearly indicate what was included in their services. Out of the 4 companies I received quotes from, AtlasCare's price was the 2nd lowest. I was able to negotiate the price a few hundred dollars lower and decided to go ahead with AtlasCare. Daniel was very courteous and we spoke on the phone several times to ensure that my concerns were addressed. He also emailed me copies of the quote/contract as changes/updates were made. Installation - I was able to get an appointment for the install in a reasonable timeframe (called on a Tuesday and installed on the Thursday). On the day of the install, the technicians, Gary and 2 other gentlemen, arrived a few minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment time. I showed them the areas that they needed access to (furnace room, backyard, etc.). They wore covers on their shoes when walking inside my home, and they also laid out protective carpets/sheets on the floor to protect the tiles/carpets. The replacement of the Furnace & AC took from 8:30am to about 4pm. The new AC unit was re-located about 10 feet from where the old unit was located. As such, the techs had to drill new holes for the new venting/pipes, remove the old pipes/vents and patch the holes with cement. My old AC sat on metal brackets, and they even cut and removed the brackets. Once the installation was completed, they cleaned the entire work area (interior & exterior). The techs showed me how to use the system and mentioned the maintenance procedures that should be followed. I was given a binder containing the Home Owner's package which has all of the documentation that is needed in relation to the new HVAC system. The techs explained about the rebates and warranties and that I would be receiving further information in the mail in the coming weeks.
Overall, I was very impressed with AtlasCare. The fact that they provide everything in writing is very important. The contract was clear, concise and outlined all of the work that would be performed. I have peace of mind knowing that if I have any problems with my HVAC system, that I am covered because I selected a company that guarantees their work and stands by the brands they support. They are a company that has been around for a long time and that was also important in my decision on which company to select. All of their staff were professional and courteous in all of my dealings with them.
I would recommend AtlasCare to my friends and family. If you are looking for peace of mind at a reasonable price, then I would definitely recommend AtlasCare.
