    Hot water tank replacement

I chose expressrooter plumbing to upgrade my aging hot water tank. Martin provided number of options and sent us links to websites where we could find more details about products he suggested. Pricing was provided for everything upfront and it gave us confidence to make right decision. Installation was scheduled for the following week and crew arrived as promised and got the job done as planned. They even removed my old tank and didn't charge me for disposal. Their services may not the cheapest but the quality justifies their fees.

    Drain replacement

My wife and I are very impressed with professionalism and response express rooter provided. Having sewage in the basement is not something that can be left for next day service. Company responded immediately to our inquiry and sent technician within hours of our phone call. Unfortunately problem was much bigger than we expected and resulted with pipe replacement which we didn't budget for. However with flexible payment plan company offers we were able to get the problem fixed right away. We are very happy with the work and will definitely recommend these guys to friends and family

    Changed cast iron pipe

We had a sewer pipe break in our crawlspace which resulted in dirty water getting into our basement. To make a long story short, we contacted several companies and felt that Express Rooter was the best option for us. Jason helped us to understand our situation and come up with a solution we approved of. We eventually decided to change the damaged pipe with new piping, which involved lots of digging in the crawlspace and drilling through concrete walls in the basement. Jason was on site to make sure his team was properly instructed before work commenced. He also came by after the job was done to inspect the work and ensure we were satisfied. His crew was efficient and polite, and kept the work area clean at the end of the day.

New Hot Water Line to Dishwasher

Older home with dishwasher two cabinets away from sink area. An old copper line from basement to the dishwasher cavity had to be removed and capped and a new hot water line put in. We were very impressed with the professional work of the plumber and the customer service provided. Awesome customer experience.

Fix shutoff valve for outdoor tap

I moved into a house, and when i turned on the inside value that turns on the outdoor tap, it was leaking quite a bit. Yuri arrived, and assessed the issue. He gave me options -- said he could probably do some maintenance to improve it as it was, or could just replace the whole value. I opted to replace the whole value, but appreciated that he gave me options, and didn't just push me towards the most expensive one. It's been over a year now, and the valve still works flawlessly, with no leaks. He didn't leave a mess behind, and worked quickly. It wasn't the biggest job, but it was done right -- which is what is always most important to me.

    Kitchen sink installation

Very satisfied with ExpressRooter. Appointment was booked within 24hours and installation of new kitchen sink was done within an hour. No hassles, just good, affordable work. Highly recommend them to anyone, no matter how small the job.

    shut-off valves

I was quoted over the phone a price of $200 to replace washing machine shut-off valves and $200 to install valves on the master bathroom sink. The price I was charged for the washing machine valves was double the quoted price, the connectors were left dangling loose and the plumber said to be careful attaching the hoses or the connectors could snap off! I took photos and sent them to the company and they said they will refund the full amount. "We do not believe you should pay for something you are not 100% happy with."

sewage backed up - had to dig down 16 feet in front of house

Filthy water backed up in my tenants' laundry room and Express Rooter was efficient, helpful and solved the problem within a day. They had to dig down 16 feet in front of the house and installed clean-outs so that we would never have the problem inside the house again (there is a huge beautiful tree in front of the house, whose roots had penetrated the clay pipe. Learned many things from this, including that 'snaking' a pipe can damage it and cause problems later, as seems to have happened here. Their communication was excellent, with me and with my tenants, and they left the site very clean and no sign of debris. I recommend them highly.

    Three Small items

I had 3 small items for the Plumbing Company to review. 1) Outdoor garage tap seems to be leaking 2) Upstairs master bathroom sink has a bad poop smell coming out of it 3) Unfinished basement drain seems to be partially clogged with rust. I was charged the minimum service charge for a visit which was $150 + HST. The Company was able to fix item #1 quickly. Item #2 - they said they could change out the pipe but that it would not fix the problem and that the smell would likely come back in 2-3 weeks. So I liked how they were honest and didn't just "hose" me to do work that would not fix the problem and just be a temporary band-aid solution. They recommended that I try baking soda & vinegar as my best bet for a solution. Item #3 - the tech took a picture to send to the Company's drain specialist who called me back later that same day. They said they could come in and excavate to fix, but that it would be too much money for me. They said they see this a lot in new build homes and unfortunately, the builders do not install the basement drain properly. And that's what causes the rust build-up within the drain the eventually blocks the drain. I like instead of trying to get me to sign up for an expensive excavating job, they were honest and gave me a more financially reasonable alternative. The alternative was just trying to chisel out the rust from the old pipe (being careful not to allow any rust to fall down into the pipe by using crumpled newspaper to block the pipe while I was chiseling) and putting in a new drain cover [the one the came from the builder was supposed to be stainless steel, but after 3 years, it's already all rusted and breaking apart]. I bought a new plastic drain cover from Home Depot. I thought the technician was reliable and professional. My only complaint - and it is a small one - is that they told me that they would arrive between 3-5pm on a Friday, but would call me on my cellphone before they started to come to give me a time estimate as to when they would actually arrive. However, on the Friday of my scheduled appointment, they just showed up and I never got a call (no missed calls & no voicemails) on my cell phone to give me the heads up of the timing. Luckily I was home already that day on vacation and was waiting for them. But I can see how it could have been different where timing did not work out since they did not do what they said they were going to do. That is, call before coming.
