    Sewer drainage Pipes

We were having dirty water coming up through our basement tub drain every time we flushed a toilet. So at 8PM at night we called Express Rooter and they had a guy to our house in 45 Mins. Jay Gibson, the Technician showed up and quickly took off our toilet and stuck a camera snake down our pipe and saw that there was a blockage 40 feet down our pipe which was causing dirty water to backup into our tub. We decided we wanted to replace that pipe with new PVC pipe (our house is 100 years old). They had a guy show up the next morning at 10am and dig down 3 feet in our furnace room to replace the old pipe. They then found that the pipe was in really bad shape and needed we needed to replace a lot more of the pipe then expected. The pipe was clogged a lot more then the camera was able to see. This was on New Years eve day. They then had 2 guys come in on Jan. 2nd at 8 am to dig a 9 foot hole under our porch without doing anything to our porch in -15 degree weather and replace about 5-7 feet of pipe. This job was finished by 4 PM that day. Pipe replaced, both holes inside and out filled back in and our furnace room floored filled back in with concrete. All done the same day in -15 degrees! Jay Gibson was the technician that was overseeing the whole thing and he was really helpful and gave us endless info. about all this stuff. He walked me through everything showing me the screen from the camera as he did it. This is our first house so he was really helpful. The whole thing costed $4200. He didn't try and swindel us into anything. He was just honest with things. Hes our plumber from now on! Great company, great workers.

I had a backed up drain in the basement

I called late in the evening and gave my name and number for a call back. I received a call the next morning, saying that someone would be there by 11am. When the representative arrived, I told him of the problem. He said he could use the camera to have a better look. I was charged for him to put the camera down the drain. He advised me that the drain needed to be replaced, and that it would cost approx $4000.00. This was my first experience with a plumber wasn't sure what to expect. It was very pricey for 15mins, considering that nothing was really done and that I was told that estimates are free.

    Repair Blocked Main Drain Line

I live in an old house in mid-town, and recently my main drain line became blocked. After reading the reviews here I decided to call ExpressRooter. They were very professional on the phone and "Bob" arrived within three hours to do a video inspection which revealed the line itself was fine but the main trap was blocked which we later discovered was due to infiltration of city tree roots. The work to dig down 7 feet and replace the trap and install new access vents started at 9 AM the next day. Bob returned once the hole was dug to verify the drain pipe was in good shape on both sides of the blocked trap. Finishing the job took the rest of the day. Everything about this otherwise stressful experience - the initial phone call, Bob's demeanor, the very hard working and pleasant work crew was positive. I'll be using this company in future whenever I need plumbing services.

    Main water valve replacement

On Sunday our main water valve inside the house started leaking. So we turned it off and called Express Roooter. We looked on Homestars and decided to call after we called other companies that wouldn't perform the repair because the City had to be involved to turn off the water to the house. Vlad was sent from Express Rooter the next day, and he assessed the situation and explained what had to be done. He told us the cost and then gave me the number to call for the city to shut off the water. He completed the job in less than one hour. The longest part of the whole affair was waiting for the city to come back and turn on the water so he could test the new valve. Everything was cleaned up and Vlad was on his way. We had a new valve and we could use our water in the house again. Thanks so much Vlad. You will be the first we call if we have another problem.

Cast Iron Stack and Roots in Outdoor Pipe

Everything about them was professional. They were polite and courteous. They called to confirm times and give more exact times to when their staff would arrive. Staff arrived early and were educational and helpful. I really got the sense they were looking at for me. They were flexible in pricing and the proposed work. They arrived on time, they worked really hard and went over and beyond what they promised. I'm very happy and would recommend them.

    Floor drain video Inspection

I had the technician doing the video camera test and provided a report which could have had more detailed information. It was useful to know how big was the city's part of the pipe versus ours. No recording was provided. He offered no alternative to 'doing it right' (which came with a huge price tag), when asked if we can clean the roots in our clay pipes instead of changing them. He said that we should move if we don't like to have roots in our pipes. Technician came earlier than scheduled. At the end of the job he thrown the used surgical gloves in my yard waste bin. Overall I thought the attitude was far from courteous, and he seemed to be interested just in the money, with no concern for us and our needs. I am going to work with a different plumbing company as a result of my experience.

Replacement of cast iron sewage stack and ceramic sewage pipe under house

Great company to work with. Robert and his team were able to start the next day, worked very quickly, respected the rest of the house, and threw in a few plumbing improvements for free. I'm relieved that the job is done quickly and done right.

    Pre-purchase Plumbing Inspection

I am currently house hunting and found a place that we love - but there was a massive tree in the front yard. Our Realtor had never heard of anyone getting a video inspection done of the plumbing, but when it only cost $150 it seemed like a good idea. The man who came was friendly and professional, made sure to keep the carpets clean when taking equipment into the basement, and gave what I believe was a very honest and frank assessment of the property. We're putting in the offer tonight and feel much more comfortable knowing that we are aware of one of the major repairs that needs to happen. If we get the house we will call them right away to do the work. Additionally, when we were given a 2 hour window when they would come and do the work, they called us in advance and were right on time. You don't see that all the time!

    drain pipe replacement

The summer of '09 was exceptionally wet and the basement drain in my century home was backing up. I called ExpressRooter because of the Mike Holmes connection and was not disappointed. Pleasantly surprised to find no additional charges for coming out on weekends, Jason, the technician, responded immediately and was able to fix the problem in no time. Using a camera within the drainpipes, I was also alerted to potential future problems due to blockage by tree roots. Although I was not pressured to do so, I opted to get this repaired as well and the timing couldn't have been better, as the tree roots in question were also completely blocking parts of my line, my neighbour's line and the city sewer pipes, and would have caused major problems in no time. The contractors doing this work were super fast (job completed within a few hours) and returned my front garden to its original state despite having had to dig a hole 9' deep to access the pipes. The original cost was only a few hundred; the final cost, including excavation and complete drain replacement was $4000 and well worth it.

Second floor toilet replacement and sink repair.

As I had seen ExpressRooter on the TV show HolmesonHomes I felt confident in calling them re my plumbing problems. I was not disappointed as Robert made a quick and accurate call on all my concerns. He was able to repair the sink and replace the toilet with no mess and in excellent time. Robert also went the extra mile in finding the toilet in the same colour as the other fixtures and it looks just great. I appreciated the quality of service from start to finish, will call again and recommend this company.
