    Sewer back up repaired

We moved into a new house and had a sewer back up in the basement on the second day. After calling the city, they sent several sewer experts to determine if the problem was ours or theirs. It turned out that the problem was on our property and was a job that we had to remedy. After calling the builder, the plumber that he sent was unable to solve the problem to our satisfaction. He was only able to tell us that he was not familiar with drain problems and that his specialty was plumbing. We called three drain companies and the one that I called last, Express Rooter stuck in my head. It was not because I had seen them on Holmes on Homes, it was because a plumber had told me to call them if I ever had a problem with my drains. Not only did they solve the problem with the most sophisticated equipment, they cleared their schedule so that we could resume life as quickly as possible. The job is now finished, without a trace of a mess and we are absolutely thrilled. The employees were polite, respectful and very knowledgeable, since they were all qualified plumbers. The job was explained to us every step of the way and we were able to see the progress as it was being made. We were not talked down to, nor were we told things that were too technical in nature that we would not be able to understand anything. I would like to thank all of the hard working people at Express Rooter for their time and patience, since I did ask a lot of questions. They tolerated me looking over their shoulders on a regular basis and gained my respect for their work ethic. There are a lot of people out there who are able to repair problems, yet they really need to be credible and a specialist in their field. It is true, when you are happy with a company you tend to tell everyone you know, as well as when you are unhappy with a company. I told my neighbor about the company and they are now going to be in contact with them. It takes a lot for me to recommend a company, especially one in the trades, since I deal with them on a daily basis. As a Co-operative education teacher at a technical school, I am in contact with hundreds of companies throughout the year. Ones that are not up to a certain standard are cut from our list, yet that doesn't mean that they are not out there practicing their trade. If you make only one phone call for drain or plumbing problems, call Express Rooter and be assured of a quality job that is without comparison.

    Replace main sewer drain

In Summer 2007, Yuri from Express Router quoted and managed a job to replace about 12' of drain from my foundation wall to the sewer main. After getting 3 quotes, they and another company (large chain) were within a few dollars of each other (and lowest). This job involved digging up the yard, replacing the cracked clay pipe with PVC, installing new cleanouts, and then refilling and surfacing the holes. The job was done on time, to spec, and they did a good job in filling and concreting over the holes. Yuri was accomodating in providing updates and information throughout the project. They even set aside some of the excavated bricks from the yard fill for us. It's been a year, and drains and concrete are in excellent shape. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

    Drain Service

Overall in the past year, we had grief with our Laundry drain overflowing on a consitent basis. We used everything from DrainO,Zep you name it, i flush it down without any satisfaction. Until i called ExpressRooter where i was greeted by a professional staff by the names of Martin and Robert. Martin(consultant) assesed my sitution and recommended a Electric snake. Along came Robert(ServiceSpecialist)who i might add worked diligent and in a matter of time rectified my draining issues. We were plaqued by theese problems for atleast a year called in different Plumbers but it seemed we wouldnt resolve this because they claimed it couldnt be fixed. I cannot thank ExpressRootor enough because Robert did get the job done. Have Plumbing issues? Look no futher, ExpressRooter it! Thanks, Tom G

    Plumbing valves and fixture installation

We hired expressrooter to install a new fixture in our claw foot tub. This is not a typical installation, so we hired a plumber. Rob from express rooter came on a sunday (we work full time during the week). Since there were no shut offs at the tub, we had to turn off the master water valve in our basement. Turns out that it was completely seized in the open position. Hence we had to get the city to come turn off the master valve on the street - UUGH. We talked with Rob and John (also of ExpressRooter) and they helped us to understand the procedure with the city - and were very accommodating. On Monday the city water was shut off - Rob came back and did all the installations, including a new master shut off valve in the basement. He even came back the next day when we detected a leak (in the fixture, not his work). Overall, although plumbing scares us, we found the process with ExpressRooter, Rob - the plumber, and John - the office coordinator, to be very helpful, patient, attentive, and most importantly got the job done. Rob has a high standard for doing the job right. He made sure the work zone was clean and tidy afterwards and even polished up the fixture. Not only did Rob do a great job technically, he showed pride in his work and was very attentive to detail and esthetics. Thanks ExpressRooter - we'll recommend you anytime. Bathroom plumbing upstairs under vanity, and toilet

I first needed shut off valves put in upstairs in the bathroom. Robert came in and did a awesome job, very clean and very concise. Then I called back and needed some plumbing moved because the vanity was a different size which was unexpected, but they sent Robert back that same night to see the problem and he came back the next day and fixed it for me! Great service, great work. I would recommend Robert and this company for any plumbing work you need done. Thank you for helping me with my reno!

Connecting our septic sewers to city sewers

Very recently, I had my septic sewers connected to the city sewers. The contractors I had the opportunity to work with were, Martin and Adam from Express Rooter. From the initial meeting, Martin W. was very courteous and took care to explain technical issues that we were not familiar with. Martin went out of his way to accomodate our requests, and he also provided us with an estimate and a time plan. We were very, very, pleased when they were both met. I would also like to metion that the crew from Express Rooter showed up on time and had the job done in 4 days even when they had to hand dig the trench; (due to a hydro cable being in the same vicinity) I would definitely recommend this contractor to my friends and family and would hire them again for any other plumbing work

    'FORCED' Master Bathroom Reno

We had recently purchased / moved to a home in Ajax. Late March, an old leak (pointed out by previous 1-yr owner and supposedly had never occurred with them) had re-appeared. We had to open up the beam to expose the water damage (finding a temendous amount of black mold). We had contacted a previous plumber we had dealt with once in our previous home even though had charged us $2000 for a 'snake' drain work. We didn't know any better but trusted the only one we had dealt with regarding any plumbing issues... After a couple of visits from the guy, costing $420 on replacing a spout, almost charged another $1000 for working on a pipe 'assumed' to be the problem... AND STILL problem not fixed.... we were provided another quote of at least $4000 to replace jacuzzi tub with regular tub to supposedly fix the problem... I simply had enough with hours of stressful tears (being at home with 2 kids on mat leave)....I am a big fan of HGTV & Holmes on Homes that I checked out his website and found ExpressRooter. I've contacted the company and immediately received an exceptional CUSTOMER SERVICE from Melissa... Due to the lateness of the call, a technician (Jeremy) was scheduled to arrive early next morning to assess the situation and provide me my options. Let me tell you this, whatever I had to do does not cost $4000. I was provided several options and given a thorough explanation of my choices so that I can make a sound decision... Some people might doubt the sincerety of those people on TV giving Mike Holmes a hug after reparing the damages... BUT... I can tell you this, I now know the feeling... I (too) had the emotional desire to give Jeremy a hug on our first meeting after his assessment. During the job, Jeremy had also uncovered tile work that was not properly done... WRONG CEMENT. Again, I was provided options and thorough explanations so that I can make a comfortable decision on what to do. Even after the fact, Jeremy had personally spoken with Martin about my situation and I was informed that Martin (will personally feel comfortable) of speaking and referring me to an official Holmes contractor for the tile work to ensure that the job is done right... THE FIRST TIME. Right now, we're just waiting for a call from the tile people to assess the situation, but the bathtub has been replaced. Our FORCED renovation is not yet complete but we know, there is a light at the end of the tunnel... AND LET ME TELL YOU, if it's anything related to plumbing, that light is EXPRESSROOTER!.... POST REVIEW (MAY13): Finally got tiles done 1 wk later. Getting Jeremy back to finish installing the faucet fixtures was excrutiating. I had been informed (Melissa) that he's extremely busy hence his earliest availability will be a week later. After 2 weeks of several cancelations / postponed appts, he finally showed up only to inform me that he will have to come back since (apparently) the tile guy did not leave appropriate spacing to do the job. After addt'l 2wks of cancelations, I am happy to say that the job is completed to my expectations. The delays were very disappointing... at first, I was the one who had to call to find out the appt is rescheduled. However, towards the end, I believe they sensed my frustration and are deeply apologetic that Melissa began to call me to inform me of the cancellation AND in turn, a personal call from Jeremy. I've been quoted a $500 job to finally put the fixtures in, which I thought was part of the whole cost already paid, BUT I'm glad that they didn't charge me due to my wait. My 4 toilets were also visually inspected as promised, due to some problems we've been experiencing, at no extra charge. I am sad to say I was also told that, due to my frustration, he offered to install a new fixture in my sink for no charge BUT it was not done. Still, ExpressRooter is the way to go!

    Sum Pump problems

I just had Yuri from Express Rooter come by and look at my sum pump. Talk about polite professional and courteous. He explained everything in terms that I understood and was impressed with his ability to do so. I would most definitely recommend this person and the business he represents in the future to any and all......M.Mknight
