    Window installation

John and his crew did a really excellent job. Arrived on time, drop sheeted all window areas and installed windows in five rough openings without leaving a scratch on the existing paintwork. Cleaned up after themselves and were finished in under four hours. I could not be more pleased with efficiency with which the job was done and with the product. Thank you.

Six window replacements under GreenOn program

Windows ordered were fabricated within a reasonable time, and installation crew were terrific. The lead installer, Ranjan, did a really great job on the framing details once the windows were in as well. We are very happy!

    Answer from pro:

We love satisfied customers, Cathie. Thanks for the great review!

    New Windows

I previously had Clera in to replace some old windows on the upper level of the house, and this year I had them replace the remaining windows. While my first experience wasn't ideal, they did work it out with me. This latest install went by completely smoothly without any concerns. It took a little longer to get my windows due to the complete mess caused by the new Ontario government canceling the GreenON program. Clera wanted to make sure as many customers who had ordered the GreenON windows were able to get them installed before the sudden deadline hit. (My windows were not covered by the program, but were within a few hundred of the ones that were after GreenON discount) I'd have been out an extra $2000 if they had been the GreenON windows and we missed the install deadline. In the end, I was relieved that I had opted to use the same model I used upstairs.

    Front Exterior Door Replacement

A good experience involves an informed salesperson, a solid product, and an experienced installer, and we experienced all 3 - Ron was polite, and well educated on his products. The door and hardware are robust. And this past Monday, Diego was careful, meticulous, and precise in his work. Did not rush, which is NOT the norm these days. Overall very pleased, would recommend this team of professionals

    Regrettable choice

It is regrettable to have to write this honest review of my experience with Clera Windows. Over the years I have had many of contractors perform work on my property, while not all have been without flaw, I have always felt there was a two-way communication, and as a customer, I have always been happy with the end result. My experience with Clera has been anything but what I have become accustomed to. Look at the streams of positive reviews, my assessment is that when things go right, the customer is genuinely happy. It is easy to get a 10 when you get it right. When a company lives up to it's marketing material, getting a 10 should also happen when things go wrong. Some perspective. I have a large number of large windows in my home. The entire job would be somewhere between 60k and 70k to complete. Due to the number of custom finishes in my windows (window seats, etc), I planned this as three phases. I decided to go with Clera for a number of reasons: 1. One point-of-contact for sales, install, and service. 2. Commitment to work with me through all three phases over a period of up to 24 months. 3. I felt the sales presentation was honest. I did not feel the same with some other sales pitches. 4. I like the product. I like how it looks both on the exterior and interior when installed correctly. In April of 2017 I had the first phase of the project completed by Clera. There are parts of the installation that are absolutely beautiful and which I could not be happier with. There are some parts, however, that came as an absolute shock. To start with, the previous windows that were installed in my home were flush installed without brick mold as the home is a tudor revival. The new installation was placed directly onto the tudor board (photo attached). This has a number of problems: 1. I can no longer replace the tudor board as planned without complete removal of the windows. 2. If any moisture gets behind the tudor board it has a direct path to the interior as there is no seal. 3. if any moisture gets behind the tudor board and it evaporates the caulk can bubble (as seen in the photo). At no point in time do I feel this install approach clearly communicated to me. The sales rep did commit to make it right - but 100% at my cost. I was willing to chock this issue as a miscommunication, not huge deal, it was caught early and would only entail about an additional $4500 of work to get to a satisfactory resolution. Disappointing that Clera was not willing to work with me yet I could take this as a learning opportunity and move on. That being said, I was VERY disappointed that the sales rep immediately starting positioning himself as having to negotiate with the installer to see how much the labour would be, etc; as a customer of Clera I do not want to know these details, they are not of my concern. This is why I chose a one-stop shop. I also was verbally assured the caulk would never fail. There is no such thing as never. Even a year after the caulk is already failing. There were other more minor issues with the install, nothing that could not be quickly rectified. I attached an example of the finish work where a Imagine garden door (beautiful door) was installed. You can see that the door did not come up to the original finished floor (I installed a piece of still unfinished oak to bridge the gap) and the bottom of the jamb looks like it was cut with a reciprocating saw. There were numerous other issues with I will spare the reader. This should be a sufficient bases of material to make my point. If you are still reading this lengthy review, the following paragraphs is where I hope to really illustrate how bad things can get. I was willing to work with Clera on continuing with the project. As I stated, I am happy with the product itself. I had a number of exchanges with the sales rep to schedule phase two (approx 17k). Unfortunately, there were more exchanges than should have been necessary as the rep appeared to have forgotten the terms of the original agreement. I completely understand he surely has numerous customers and we would get it resolved in a number of interactions. In the final interaction I feel we were in complete alignment - the quote looked good. There was a modest price increase year-over-year (to be expected) but I was shocked at the fact he asserted this cost was entirely due to US trade tariffs. Ironically, I don't care why prices have gone up. We have had a number of domestic/provincial policies come into play the past 12 months that surely must be driving up cost. Oil prices are up, etc. I was tired of how hard it was to just get an updated quote. I felt I was constantly being misdirected, and being subjected to smoke sales tactics. I responded with how I felt. I was tough on him, I respected he was in sales and I appreciate the task of following a playbook. I was fine with the cost but tired of this being so hard. I asked to accelerate the project, and asked the quote be expanded to cover a much larger portion of the remaining install (approx 30k). His response was, in short: he had tried his best, he was insulted, and I was longer a customer Clera is interested in doing business with. So, I find myself out of pocket approx 20k for the existing installed windows, about 10k for an architect to try and work through issues, and having to pause/re-spec a 55k siding project that was completely detailed to work with these windows. I have lost countless nights of sleep. I am really happy for all of the customers with positive reviews. This is how it should be. However, sometimes things do go wrong. We work through issues first by communicating. Sometimes as part of communication people hear things that they do not want to hear. The first time a company and a customer have a disagreement on intent or perception, does not justify all of the companies commitments to that customer are unilaterally dismissed. I did my homework, I did everything I could to attempt to make this project work. This is my story. Thanks for reading. Richard Post response edit: In response to the company response, I do not feel any attempt was made to make the customer happy. I only ever heard a sales rep who shouted at me when I asserted that I was unhappy. There was no attempt by any additional person from the company to have a dialog. What I see is a classic case of 'bury it and move on to the next customer'. Calling out the customers name in response illustrates a complete disregard for the privacy of their customer's. I am still a customer I have 20k worth of the company's product and services installed and not being warranted. It appears to be a continuing effort to deflect all shortcomings entirely onto the customer. I have had some craftsmen out to the house to attempt to move this project forward. I have been assured that my concerns are not unfounded and to quote one gentlemen 'the method the windows are installed are pretty much the worst possible way you can install a window short of putting it in backwards'.

    Answer from pro:

Dear Richard Duggan, Thank you very much for your honest feedback. We really appreciate the fact that you really liked our product and regardless of issues last year, you wanted to proceed with second phase. We also appreciate that you were honest in writing your review that you were tough on our local rep who is a very reputable senior person and he has done everything possible to please you. Mr. Duggan, from time to time, we encounter customers that are impossible to please and we reach that conclusions after reviewing your emails to our local branch. We are satisfied that we have done our very best, and more than most companies would have, to do a good and workmanlike installation. We wish you good luck with your rest of the project. Thanks - Clera Admin

    Sealed window unit replacement

Clero (FM) windows is under the gun to complete orders before the deadline for Ontario energy rebates closes-an unexpected consequence of the last election. Nevertheless after contacting the head office their service manager stopped on his way home to review what I needed, and I was surprised to learn that the window was not manufactured by them. Nevertheless Ryan the service manager agreed to have a sealed window unit made for the window at a reasonable price, and also found some old parts to address minor problems I've had with casement window hardware.

    Windows and patio doors

After talking to several suppliers, and reading many reviews, we selected Clera Windows and Doors to provide nine brick to brick windows and two patio doors in our 60 year old house. We are extremely satisfied with the entire process. Adam filed the GreenOn rebate claim as promised. The installer, Diego, did an outstanding job, and left our home neat and clean.

    Windows

Hello my name is Melanie cote i purchased windows from your company in 2017 my rep was Andre Tessier and i am very unsatisfied with the service i have received from.him Andre Tessier...However after receiving a call from Ryan and Chris who also came into my house to talk to me in person and make sure mesurements were correct and who is also travelling to Brockville to get my window.so i do.not have to wait any longer I am editing this review for the company itself they would get 5 stars. because of the customer service i received from both Ryan and Chris who are working very hard to rectify the damage Andre has done and from now on I was told to conatct Ryan directly if i need any further help in the future...A huge thank you to both Ryan and Chris... As for the review on Andre Tessier it stands at a 2 star rating.... This is what hapened with Andre Tessier so others will be aware...first of all right from the beginning we had problems....the windows were ordered and we were told 6 to 8 weeks for them.to be reafy and that they would be imstalled a week.or.two after that.....well thats were it all began the windows didnt come.in for months after the 8.weeks i called andre to.see what was happening and he gave me my first set of excuses then told me another week and thats what he kept telling me.for weeks after then finally he said the windows were here and they would be installed next week this was months after and that chris the installer would call me to.set that up well he never did and every week i called Andre and it was another.excuse after another excuse till i finally hot fed up and called head office then finally i head office set up some installers to.come.in from.ottawa to get the windows installed.... I then got a call from Andre who was not pleased and said why would you call head office ext.... I said becaus ethis is ridiculous...i had also received a panflet in the.mail saying i could get 40 percent off the installation so.at that time i asked. andre if i would get that off.my bill since they were not installed yet and i waites so.long he said he would look into it and get back to me which he never did....he showed up the morning the installers.from ottawa came and was not pleasent at all and said he would be back.later for the check amd again i asked about the discount and he said ya ya we will do that later....well guess.whta he never showed back up and had the installers take my check and never gave me the disvount or nothing and then avoided my calls....but since the windows.were here and installed i stopped calling him caus eit was a lost cause....well now this past dec 2018 the 28th to be exact we got real cold weather and my bedroom window.cracked..... So yet again i called Andre and he told me he would have one ordered well i waited and waited calling him several times with no response....leaving message after message....then i called head office talked to them.and finally in april i get a call from.Chris the installer saiying my window is here and he would be here thatweek to instal well he gets here.only to find out the window ordered.was the wrong size so now he has to re order and again i have to.wait....he asked if andre had even came to.mesure.or check which window.it was i said no.he did not he went my his papers.....said he didnt need to.....so chris said he woudl re order and ask them to make it a rush....well in june after numerous calls to andre about the window and were it is and no response i called head office left mutiple messaged then finally i talked to Ryan in.june who.said this was ridiculous and he would have this fixed right away....well we are now at the end.of july and still no window....i.am.completly umsatisfied with this service....i chose this company to avoid this kind.of hassle and because i.was told that if something broke it would be replaced.promptly and without hassle....all i have had is hassle and i am fed up.....you can contact me at 613 362 0663
