    Terrible Customer Service!

    **Update: I have been asked several times by this company to change my review. I have given them a 5/10 because once I posted this review online, Head Office contacted me immediately to rectify the situation. What Clera doesn’t seem to realize is that my review was mostly based on the “terrible customer service” I had received up until that point – thus the title of my review, not leaking windows. Yes, we had Clera come out two times to try to find out why two of our four windows are leaking. Unfortunately the first time they came out and sprayed the windows the water didn’t leak until after they had left and the second time they came out the water was not sprayed on the upper windows (specifically right above the window where the drip cap is located). We were told that the leaks must have already been there but now because we have foam insulation around the windows the water has nowhere to go but inside our home. We had our front windows also replaced in 2015 by another company and have had no leaks with them. We will need to personally investigate further on why some of our new windows leak and some don’t.** Wow, where do I begin. I am a first time poster on Home Stars but I felt compelled to share the absolutely terrible experience we have had with Clera Windows. It is unfortunate that we have had such a bad experience when it seems like many people have been quite satisfied. Perhaps it is the sales rep, Steve D. We ordered our windows back in June and had them installed in August. Steve did all the paperwork and measured every window. On our installation date we were told they would be there at 10am and they showed up at 1pm without even calling us to let us know they would be late. My husband took the day off of work and waited around all day for them. Once the windows were installed we noticed that all of our drapes are too short in width for the top of the windows. This was because Steve ordered the wrong size trim, and as a result it did not match our front windows (that were also recently replaced by another company). We called Steve right away and he said he would get back to us…for weeks we did not have any window coverings on our back windows while we waited for Steve to set up an appointment to have this issue fixed. Finally, he called us back and said his installers were only available this one day at 3pm. So, I left work early to be there and waited until 6:30pm for the guy to show up. Steve told me that I should get used to this type of service because all contractors show up late. To make matters even worse, the installer showed up with no tools and said there was nothing he could do about the trim – this is the only size they carry and then he left without doing a thing. So, we had to accept that none of our custom drapes were going to fit our new (and expensive!) windows. Now, two of our brand new windows leak. We came home to puddles of water on our windows sills and we could see the water dripping from the top of the windows. After all the hassles we received with Steve and his installers, we called the Head Office and left a message. A week later we received a phone call from Steve saying that the leak was covered under warranty (I would hope so on 3 month old windows) and they could come by and fix it on Saturday (December 5) at 9:30am give or take a few minutes. So, once again we changed our plans so we could be home and get these windows fixed before winter. 9:30am comes and goes and no one shows up. We try calling Steve and he doesn’t answer. By 11:00am we had to leave the house because we weren’t about to waste our day waiting around. We get a phone call from Steve at 11:30am saying his guy should be there around noon if we are still home otherwise we would have to find another time. Clearly Steve and his installer and not providing the customer service that Clera Windows seems to strive for. I would like to speak with someone other than Steve (preferably a manager) to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible.

    Updated on December 17th - Dear Customer, we sent our Installer again along with branch manager on December 16th and after spraying water on the windows there was no sign of any leaks from the window. I really appreciate if you could please update your review to clarify that we send our technicians two times and both times there was no sign of leaks. You are getting leaks from somewhere else and we only specialize in windows and doors, therefore unable to help you locate where the actual leak is coming. Thanks Clera Admin Dear customer. we apologize for the inconvenience. One of our management team member already spoke to you yesterday and arranged the installer to go and check for the leaks. During his inspection, he sprayed water on the window and there was no sign of leakage. However, you reported later on that you saw some dripping after an hour. We are arranging them to go back next week. They will let you know before coming so you can spray the water before their visit. We already clarified the trim issue with you over the phone and hope that we can rectify the leak issue (if it's related to window installation) by next week. Thanks - Clera Admin

    Windows Replacement (2nd and 3rd floors)

    Meet with Chris Larock from Clera Windows and Doors for the Hamilton Area. Chris was great, a very straight forward and personable guy. He was prompt, professional and really took the time to explain the options available and made suggestions as to what would work best for our home and answered the many questions we had. We meet with a second company who were competitive on the pricing but not the same commitment to timing around the project, nor did they take the same time or put in the same effort. there was not that sense they they were the right team to go with. So we were convinced that we wanted to go with Clera and Chris Larock. Cleara being a Ontario manufacturer of there own products really was a selling point for us as well. Chris had his lead installer over within a couple days to get the detailed measurements who was also a great guy friendly and professional. Windows were ordered and Chris advised ~6 weeks which would put the install date at the end of Oct or early November. Sure enough on November 2nd got a call first thing in the morning advising the windows had arrived and they were ready to proceed with the install, we scheduled for Nov 4th and 5th. The install went quickly and with minimal disruption or mess, the install team was courteous, professional and skilled at what they were doing. They cleaned up after themselves well and we are very pleased with the result. Our windows look beautiful, are so much warmer and the sound is cut down considerably over the very old windows. Chris followed up the day after the install to make sure everything went well, that were were happy with the product and the work. He asked if we had any question or concerns and advised not to hesitate to contact him if anything came up. I recommend Clera Windows and Doors for having a high quality, attractive product that is manufacture locally in Ontario. I also highly recommend Chris Larock and his team for taking the stress and worry out of the project and delivering what they said they would when they said they would for a very competitive price.

    Windows installation

    We were very happy with the service we received from Ken and his installation crew. He was very professional and thorough when he came to provide the quote and the windows and doors were exactly as described. The installation was completed within the timeframe that was provided. The old windows and doors were removed and the house was left just as clean as before the installation. We were also pleased that Clera had a flexible payment option which was an added incentive to make the investment.

    Commercial Building Window Installation

    Excellent friendly, efficient customer service. Frank from Clera Windows and Doors was more than accommodation with our specific time line and requirements. We had to custom make and install 8 x large Windows at a property on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto and I am very satisfied with the work from start to finish. Thank you Frank and the rest of the guys on the team for working with us under unique circumstances. We look forward to doing a lot more business with you in the near future.

    Poor Customer Service

    I booked an appointment for Clera to come out and quote new windows for my home a week ago Friday. We scheduled an appointment window between 10-2 for them to come out. I get a call at 2:45 saying they were 45 minutes away. After waiting around for four hours I wasn't waiting around any longer... The manager, who I could tell was annoyed that I wouldn't wait around for him said he would call me next week to reschedule... It's been a week and no call... Note: This probably the first time I have ever posted my comments online but I had to voice my displeasure in this situation. Others had to know. Customer service is so important to any business. The complete lack of it in this situation was just bad... I won't be following up with Clera to reschedule and will be calling one of the many other window companies out there to give them my business. Word of mouth...

    Dining Room, Living Room and Master Bedroom Windows

    I searched for windows online. I requested information and Clera was one of only two that responded - with a phone call. John came to our house and helped us modify our windows to casements from double hung on our main floor- custom fits. His idea to change our bedroom window to a picture window with vents either end looks amazing. Aftercare followup - I called John with a difficulty in getting a screen back in on the second floor. He dropped by within a couple of hours and gave me some pointers and fixed a clip that I had pulled out doing it wrong. Excellent service and selection - and so far - the windows are exactly what we asked for.

    WINDOWS

    I chose to order 7 windows and 1 door from Clera after meeting Clera representative Bob Tessier. Bob took the time to explain the products and even brought samples of the windows so we could see the quality and how to operate them. When installation time came, we were really impressed by the work done by the installer Chris Flaro. Chris worked diligently with attention to details and ensured that we were satisfied with our new windows and door. We are very pleased with Clera's work.

    window and door replacement

    What a great experience this is one of the best companies that I have had to deal with from Todd in helping me choose my new front and back doors and my living room window and last year helping me choose the other windows. Vladimier and Shawn were so courtious and did such a great job with the installation they arrived when they said they would and left the place spotless. Thank you Todd, Vladimier and Shawn I love my new window and my doors. I will gladly recommend Clera Windows and Doors to family and friends. Job well done.

    New windows

    Comments Cleara's sales team was excellent and the windows look great. But...one of my windows has an issue. I've called cleara 3 times over 2 months each time being promised that someone would call me back and I haven't received a return call. I was promised by the sales rep that their follow up service was excellent but that has not been my experience. Extremely disappointed in their follow-up and customer service. Once they received their money they were gone!

    Windows

    I recently had 3 basement windows installed. The installation went superbly, just as I had expected. My son had referred me to Terry, as he had dealt with him on many occasions at his home. The pricing was great and the product wonderful. Will be contacting Terry in the spring for a new patio door.
