    New windows and doors

We had all our windows and doors replaced by Clera Windows and we are very happy with their work. There was a few minor issues that came up during the job that was resolved to our satisfaction. Steve our sales rep was extremely professional to deal with along with Chris the service and installation manager.

    windows and doors

THIS REVIEW IS UNDER REVIEW--IT WILL BE UPDATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.I had a new front window installed by Clera when I first purchased my home 9 years ago. I had no complaints about the service or the workmanship so I decided to call them again to install a new front door and patio door. Again, great customer service, but each year come winter time, I couldn't figure out why there was always a draft in my house, no matter what I did to combat it. Never! thought it could be the new products that had been installed in my home. Well, I was WRONG. The sliding portions of my front window, even though closed properly and locked, ARE DRAFTY. Same with the window portion of my front door. I have to unfortunately put plastic on them each winter to keep the heat in my home. Same thing with my sliding glass door in my kitchen. I noticed that the centre of my sliding door allowed the wind to blow freely through it; and that the weather stripping was worn. No wonder I was cold. I finally decided to call and speak with Tim, my rep in the Welland area, who personally came over to check things out. He agreed it should not have worn like that and that I could call to make arrangements to have the door replaced. He informed me I would have to pay the labour cost for the service. I agreed. This is where I was astonished at how lax the customer service dept. at CLERA was. I got the worst customer service possible--the rep never returned my calls; so finallly I had to ask Tim to step in and make the arrangements. A new door was delivered, and installed. Looks good. Works poorly. It does not slide into the opening in the wall correctly, the entire end of the door is warped. It AGAIN has poor weather stripping in the centre, so I am AGAIN having to put plastic on it to keep my house warm. Unfortunately for Tim and his crew, even though they were fine to deal with, I will NEVER recommend Clera windows and doors to anyone. I will be seeking a completely different company that sells a completely different product to ensure I'm actually going to get my money's worth next time.

    Window Installation

We just want to take the time to thank all the Clera crew that made our window installation a great experience. It all started with Gene Morlando, he took the time to explain all the choices and narrow down the best product for our needs. Once our windows were ready Paul and his crew did an excelent job at installing all our 17 windows without creating a mess or disrupting anything! We are so glad that we chose Clera!! We will definitely use Clera for our next project. Sincerely: Marie & Rui Sousa

    Black Grilled Windows Ordered

The first job Clera Windows did for us earlier this year (2 main windows) had a few issues, but my wife and I viewed them as isolated incidents and planned to use them again. Little did we know that our second order of 4 windows would result in dealing with a time consuming domino effect of Clera & FM Industries mistakes. Orders were placed wrong, incorrectly manufactured, measured too small, and broken and damaged on separate occasions. On our own initiative, we were able to get a discount that only compensated for the many hours my wife and I poured into monitoring and following up with these guys – not to mention the ongoing stress of the whole situation. We were very disappointed when even after this point, some of the worst mistakes happened. From order to completion, the job took an alarming 5 months. When the work was finally complete, there was no followup from anyone at the company until over two weeks later when they saw this HomeStars review. I will grant that the windows look good – after all we've been through – which is the only reason I give a rating at all. However, reaching this point was an unpleasant experience that I would not wish on anyone.

    Windows

Great decision to purchase Clera windows. Gary is very knowledgeable with the product. The installer Rob and his helper were neat and timely. The windows look great. Lots of compliments from the neighbours. I would recommend Clera windows.

Eight years ago we had all our windows replaced with Clera Windows and Doors. They did an excellent job . That is why we had no problem calling them to do some work on my fathers house. The job is now complete, and again, we are very happy. Keep up the good work Todd!!

    Windows and Door

We had several windows and the front door installed recently by Clera Windows and Doors at our home. We are very pleased with the quality and the installation of them. The neighbours came over to have a look and they were also very impressed with the door and windows. The installer was polite, explained how to operated the windows and thoroughly cleaned up after the completion of the job. I would recommend Clera Windows and Doors to anyone in the Windsor and Essex County area. They far exceeded our expectations.

    Window replacement

A Clera flyer came to our door just as we were contemplating new windows and based on the great review on Homestars as well as the initial meeting with the salesperson Vick, we decided to go with them. The first clue that things were amiss came when Vick insisted that my husband had to be at the house to sign the contract with me. This struck me as very odd and was a big scheduling pain for us as he travels for his job and wasn't too sure what his presence was required for. Well, it became very clear that Vick wanted to deal with him with respect to anything financial. Alex noticed that whenever financing or money came up Vick look at and spoke only to Alex. I was just stunned during the meeting and wish I had just shut the whole thing down at that point. Vick actually asked if it was "his cheque" that I was giving him for the void cheque required for the financing. I pointed out that there were this things called joint chequing accounts and the cheque as for "our" account. Then came the endless requests for Vick to contact me via email. I would email him a question, like when the heck the installation was going to happen, only to have him call my phone to respond. He didn't respond with the answer, just a request to call him. I run my own business and deal directly with clients so, as I explained to him over and over again, I couldn't pick up the phone when he called. I even resorted to emailing the general address at Clera to complain. They just passed the email on to him. Installation day comes and Vick decides he's going to be at my house all day. By this point I couldn't stand the guy and I had to "entertain" him all day. The windows weren't done the first day so Vick told me the workers had to come back the next. I asked him if they needed access to the house and he told me they didn't. There was a language issue with the installers so I'm not sure if anyone really understood what was going on. Day 2 arrives and the workers need access to the house. I had a couple of appointments that I suddenly had to take my dog with me to. If I had left her locked in a room in the house she would have barked all day and disturbed the neighbours. The windows are installed but recently, less than a year later, I discover a couple won't lock. That starts a more than month long campaign to get the windows fixed. I specifically ask that Vick not contact me, and guess what? Yup, he calls. I found my endless calls to the company were not returned and when at last I ask to escalate to the VP, suddenly someone calls to fix them. I was given 30 minutes notice. It was extremely luck that I was home otherwise I'm sure I'd still be waiting. The windows, according to the repair person, were done incorrectly with parts that are no longer used. And, here's the thing, and the reason I'm finally writing this. I can't believe that the VP did not call personally to apologize and that NO ON at the company has called to confirm that everything is now working and I am satisfied. I honestly find it very difficult to believe these other reviews are legit. Perhaps rather than running a decent business the staff spends their time writing glowing reviews for their own company.
