    Great Service!

    Young family in a quiet North York new home We needed kid, friendly, but high-quality protection solutions. Protection plus came through with flying colours. We are very appreciative for this professional and quality service.

    Locksmith services in basement

    New locks

    Brandon from ProtectionPlus Security installed new Mail-t-locks. He was knowledgeable and service oriented. I would rate him very highly. A nice young man.

    Excellent Locksmith

    Brandon was the best very professional and answered all my question as he installed my Multi locks. I had 2 multi locks commercial grade non Chronos. I also had 1 LSDA installed. Brian my sales guy was super helpful and knowledgeable. He did not try to upsell me on more expensive options. He tried saving me money with different options. I already knew a little about locks so I already knew what I wanted. This company is reputable. Yes to call and have a locksmith is expensive but they have locks not sold in big box stores which are of higher quality. You will only change locks every 25 years maybe you will change only once in your life with quality locks. The extra cost in the quality of lock is worth the safety. Living in the GTA with all the thefts on rise its a little reassurance you have valid protection. Nothing is impenetrable but a deterrent is a little peace of mind.

    Declining service

    Sad to see their service declining over the years. For the record, I have been a customer since 2016 and was really happy with their service. I happily accommodated price increase during COVID since I thought they deserve a price increase. Long story short, years ago, I accidentally triggered the panic alarm, and within 10 mins, both me and my wife received a phone call from the monitoring station. Back then, I felt protected by this company and they were truly an award winning security company to me. Lately I had another accidental trigger of panic alarm, but no one contacted me, so I first reached out on Jan 18th to find out why. Receptionist said she would let their VP Rod Mackie handle this. Sadly he was so hard to get ahold of and I had to follow up three more times (on Feb 1st, Feb 12th and Feb 27th) to get a frustrating reply from him. Never expected getting an answer could be this difficult. What frustrated me further was that he accused me of not providing a premise number/ an emergency number for them to use, so that there wouldn't be a phone call, which was just not a legit excuse. If you could do it years ago, you could do it now. What's worse, when I questioned on what have changed, his reply was "I cant really speak for something that happened a few years back or how it was handled. I can only try to fix things going forward." Rod, you fixed nothing. You just made your company look really bad.

    I would like to clarify a couple of things.  We absolutely have not had a price increase at any time since you became our customer.  You mention declining service over the years and yet your file has no record of any negative feedback or issues until this recent, chargeable Police dispatch. I want to remind you, charges for Police response stem from the municipality, not from Protection Plus. Protection Plus does not absorb these charges.     It did take longer than normal to get answers for you and for that I apologize.  You were made aware that I would not be in the office until after February 5th and on February 12th I sent an update email informing you we were still waiting on answers from the monitoring station. At no time did we forget about your concerns but yes, it took longer than expected.     For your information, I do not lie in people’s faces.  To suggest this is ridiculous and insulting.  I never said you didn’t supply an emergency contact, I said you never had a home phone line for us to call.  As I explained, panic signals are emergency signals. The procedure is to call the premise and then dispatch the police. With no premise number, the monitoring station went right to dispatching the Police.   You compare this dispatch with another dispatch that happened just over five years ago.  I will repeat, I have no way of knowing or finding out the particulars of a dispatch that happened over five years ago.  To expect otherwise is not reasonable.   We are just thankful that this panic button activation was accidental on your part. Our discussion and your perspective would be very different if this were an actual event being that we responded following ULC protocol to notify Police as soon as possible.   Despite the rather personal nature of your comments, I want to thank you for the years of business and I wish you all the best going forward.     Door security upgrade

    Brandon did a great job installing new security devices to our doors to make our home more secure.Workmanship was great and he was very courteous and was carefull to make sure everything was kept clean.Highly recommend to anybody looking to upgrade door security to prevent break ins.

    Replace door locks and security dead bolts and fix and replace alarm system and components

    Great service. Professional and pleasant. Arrived on time and had everything required. Very efficient. Very happy with the end result. Highly recommend this company for anyone who needs security systems and or secure locks. You wont regret it

    Install Alarm or Security System
    I contacted Home Stars because I needed someone to install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. One of their technicians contacted me and we immediately set up an appointment. The technician, I think his name is Ben, came to my house the day he said he was going to come. He arrived and he was polite and a very friendly guy. We just went over what to be installed and where and he immediately went to work. When he was done I realized that he did a very good job. PERFECT. I would definitely use him again for installing home security cameras/alarms and so forth
