We decided to go with Lifestyle Home Products for a sunroom in front of our home as the sales person was a pleasure to deal with. It went downhill from there.
First of all, we went through the whole winter without a door on our sunroom. Cleaning out the snow that got in was ridiculous.
When the door was finally installed again, we were not satisfied, as it only opened about 2 ft, which made it very inconvenient. Today, we have trouble bringing in the groceries sometimes, especially when carrying bags in both hands. We asked Lifestyle Home Products to move the bracket above the door so that it could open wider, but they said that they could not because they had to follow manufacturer protocols. I asked what protocol are they following and to please provide proof if that was the case. Mike, the manager I believe, not a pleasure to talk to, sent me a picture of the installation with no measurements whatsoever. He says that the diagram “shows limitations”. The diagram tells you nothing with no measurements. In the end, he could not show me any document whatsoever stating any “manufacturer protocols”, but only a diagram that says nothing. He even gave me attitude and said that “it isn’t very complicated” and that we are “over complicating this”. All we want is to get in and out of our door nicely. My guess is that they do not want to put in the extra work to move it and are just saying things with no evidence (at least I never got it – look at the diagram yourself).
I am very surprised that Mike has good reviews at all. I guess we just lucked out on this one. Overall, service was terrible. If you are going to tell your client something, then be prepared to legitimately back it up. In the end, we paid just to not have to deal with Lifestyle Home Products again because that was how unpleasant it was.
Oh, and when city hall came to inspect. We had a chat with him about moving the bracket so that the door would open wider and he said that it was fine, if anything better. If it was his home, he’d ask them to do the same and laughed at the current door, how it only opened 2 ft.
