    laundry room, backflow valve

it's such a long painful story...i can only give a few of the lowlites but the general point is that the people who came and did the work were inferior and the company did nothing to remedy the situation. Twice, i left work (unpaid) to meet them only to have them not show up. Shower fixture was installed backwards. (tenants burned themselves twice...but they figured it out eventually). Work was not expected by supervisor when completed as promised. When cutting floor tiles, they didn't cut along the grout lines (which would make repair easy for me). the reason? "it would create a lot of dust". Installed laundry room drain pipe that had no slope and it was unsupported for 5 ft span which obviously means draining was gonna be a problem. When hooking in drain for laundry room, they specifically told me that it would be tied in a few feet past sink drain to avoid backflow issues. this was not done. when I brought it up I was told "oh, that was extra". **** FACTS : - the shower is installed *BACKWARDS*. i invite you anyone to see for yourself. - i did NOT give my approval for job after completion. i voiced my disapproval and finally gave up. i have email trail to prove this. - the laundry drain was *NOT* tied in as it was explained to me. - to be clear, the supervisor did *NOT* come after the laundry job (but they did for the backflow valve).

Hi Derek, Let us start off by saying that we did our due diligence to meet and address your constant-changing plans for this plumbing job. When you contacted our company for this plumbing job, you were un-decisive and unprepared on how you were going to do it. You wanted us to put everything (drain lines and water supply lines) on the wall to avoid framing the wall. After we completed the work, you changed your mind and informed us that you wanted to take everything off the wall. Based on the fact that you did not want to frame the wall, we did our best to work around the pipes that were touching the wall to support it accordingly. Our workmanship including the installation and putting protective sleeves were completed correctly and up to code. Our plumber also installed the shower fixture correctly as it was tested multiple times upon completion of installation. The issue of burning hot water could possibly be that the hot water temperature was adjusted and set too high on the hot water tank. Let us make note here that New Canadian Drain and Plumbing DID NOT charge you for the shower fixture installation due to the volume of work that you were hiring our company to do. Our supervisor was on site multiple times throughout and after the work was completed to do inspections. He also discussed, with you, different ways to run the pipes for the new laundry sink. Overall, our workmanship was completed to code. Again, we did our due diligence in meeting all your plumbing requests and our work was inspected and approved by yourself. You were present during the time that we did work on your property and we always addressed every question and/or concern that you brought to our attention. New Canadian Drain & Plumbing has been in business for a very long time and we are a very reputable company. Your exaggerated feedback will not discourage our company from taking great pride in delivering exceptional service each and every time.

    Kitchen sink faucet repair

Waking up early in the morning and finding out that my kitchen countertop is full of water due to the leaky kitchen faucet sink turned my bright and exciting day into a gloomy one. Getting help is the first thing that came into my mind. I like the power of the "word of the mouth advertising" i find it more convincing and real. I heard a lot about New Canadian Drain and Plumbing from my friends and co-workers. I immediately google their phone number and call them right away. To my amazed the technician arrived at 8:45 in the morning 30 minutes after I called them. The technician looks clean and polite. He assesses the problem; explain that the cartridge needs to be change, I find him knowledgeable in line with his job. He gives pricing upfront of $190+hst to supply and install the cartridge before he starts the work. After 30 minutes or so, he completed the work. I am impressed. Thank you New Canadian Drain and Plumbing for bringing back my bright and exciting day. No need to worry for flood in my kitchen while I was out for work. I absolutely recommend and use this company again if I will have plumbing issues that arises in the future.

    Backwater Valve

This company installed a backwater protection valve at my home after our insurance company insisted upon it following a sewer back-up. The plumber who coordinated the work arrived quickly and work began the next day. The crew mostly arrived when they said they would over the next few days and the work passed inspection by the city. However, 3 weeks later we encountered another sewer back-up in our home. Representatives from our Region suggested that this would have been caused by faulty equipment or poor workmanship. New Canadian did attend the scene, fixed a broken flapper (which they said the Region likely caused), charged $80 to replace it and then another sum to put the camera into the drain to ensure there were no additional blocks in the drains into our home. The plumber tried to suggest that we had thrown excess toilet paper or paper towel in our toilets which caused the clog to the valve. This DID NOT happen. I repeatedly asked for advice about how to prevent this from happening again in the future and the answer was not very helpful (check it more often...right...but it had only been 3 weeks since install). After a review on this site, the company had the plumber contact me (vs. the owner of the company) and ask me to remove my review. I insisted I would not because what I wrote was truthful. Rather than continue a hostile discussion, I told him I would contact the company directly. The owner (or any manager of any kind) refused to speak with me despite my repeated requests. Instead, the poor lady who answers the phone was stuck as an intermediary. Ultimately, they did offer me $100 credit on the work but I never received the credit and the company keeps protesting this review. When I finally had another plumber out, they found 2 flappers on the valve (when there should have been just one).

    Answer from pro:

Hi Lisa, when we completed the back water valve installation on your property, the City inspector came to site and inspected the back water valve and passed the inspection. When you contacted our company weeks after we completed the back water valve installation, our technician came to your site and discovered that the flapper was already pulled out from the back water valve and was broken and that an excess amount of toilet paper caused your sewer to back up again based on the camera scope that he did on your drain. Our technician advised you to monitor the valve and contact our office if the issue re-occurs but in the meantime, to not flush excess amounts of toilet paper down the toilet because it will jam and cause your sewer back up again. As well, any knowledgeable and experienced plumber would understand that it is impossible to have two flappers on one back water valve. Our staff displayed astounding customer service and addressed your concerns from your initial interaction with our company and we do not appreciate our reputable Company name being tainted with your review that contains information that is fallacious.

    Toilet replacement

Last night I noticed our toilet was leaking. We called New Canadian this morning and within a few short hours, had a new toilet installed with nary a trace of the previous chaos in sight. Siavash was thorough, efficient and professional, and went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the job was done right. I highly recommend New Canadian Drain and Plumbing and I will certainly call them again should I need their services.... and I might. Our sink now looks sad and outdated next to that sparkly new toilet!

    Shower in the bathroom

Your office sent a technician promptly and he went through step by step cutting through the tiles and replaced the shower liner. When I asked him about retilling he recommended us somebody he knew. This tiler did not do a proper slope for the water and so water stays around the four corners instead of flowing to the drain. Now the tiler does not want to come and rectify the problem. Now I am looking for somebody to fix this problem.

    Drainage system replaced

New Cdn Drain came to my home in February, 2015 to install a sewage backup prevention valve. While doing the work, the crew discovered that our drainage pipes were blocked by tree roots. In spite of driving snow and frigid cold, the New Cdn Drain crew completed the necessary work in the time they estimated and at a fair price. It was a messy job, but the crew took great care to thoroughly clean up the work space after they were finished. They were both reliable and professional. I'd recommend New Canadian Drain to my friends and family.

    Kitchen sink lockage

My kitchen sink had draining problem for days and finally it blocked, so I called a drain and plumbing company to fix it. A guy showed up after about 6 hours, and could not solve the problem spending long time snaking with drill. After searching to find another company, I found " new canadian drain and plumbing company" . Amazingly, it took only one hour for the plumber to show up. Jeff, the plumber, asked me couples of questions related to the problem, and checked the kitchen drain pipes to the main drain pipes. He fixed the problem using a snake machine in a reasonable time. Thanks Jeff for the professionally doing your job, and your advices. This company is just awesome because of the fare service charge and skilled employers. I strongly recommend this company to every one.

A drainage problem in the basement

We had a continual drainage problem when it rained and a few minor floods in the basement. After calling First Canadian, Peter came right out , they were prompt and very efficient and fixed the problem, even calling afterward to ensure we were happy. They also saved us money by finding a city rebate. I would highly recommend these guys, they are top notch!!

    Bathroom Leak Fix

I had a problem with my upstairs bathroom leaking through the ceiling down to the main floor. I was recommended by a friend of this company. I called and the lady on the other side was very nice and polite. She told me she could get a plumbing technician at my home in about 30 minutes. After about 30 minutes a man came and he was very nice and professional. He told me the problem and fixed it in about 45 minutes. The end product was very good, it never leaked again so far and when he finished my bathroom was neat and clean. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a plumbing company.
