Main drain clog - Frustrating experience

I had a backup in my main drain located in my basement after doing laundry. I called Priority plumbing and they gave me a 5-8 appointment and promised to call 30 mins before arrival. At 7:30 no one called so I called them and the message said they are closed and call back during business hours before 8 PM (it was 7:30). I called back the next day and was told another appointment has been made for 8-11 which was also missed. The third appointment was booked and to compensate me for my troubles, they offered to waive the $49 assessment fee. The 3rd appointment the plumber showed up on time and with a call beforehand as promised. Upon his arrival before doing any kind of inspection other then looking around, I was presented with a few options ranging from $800 to $8000. I was uncomfortable with agreeing to start any work without a camera inspection which was the reason I made the appointment in the first place. After hearing about 5 options including him trying to sell me "a beautiful toilet" he has in his truck for $800 which went up to $1,100 after he looked in his book, I requested to just do the job I booked him for which was snake and camera as advertised on the website and confirmed by the lady who took my appointments. He said he would do it but it would cost an additional $400 above what the website stated and what the booking lady confirmed. I was shocked and when i pointed out the site pricing he gave me the excuse that the price I was offered was for emergency cases where water backs up and after I told him my water did back up and showed him, he said I need a cleanout access and I showed him 2 of them and then he said he didn't want to open those cleanouts because its cast iron and instead, he would snake and camera via the toilet. I asked him how long it would take and said about half an hour. He wanted to charge me an additional $400 above the agreed price to take out a toilet that has 2 screws in the ground. I was so frustrated with all his sales tactics and bait and switch techniques I told him I no longer wanted his "services". I called another plumber who came out with in a few hours, opened the cleanout, snaked the main drain and pulled out a toy that the kids managed to flush down with a bunch of toilet paper caught up in it. The second plumber even inspected the entire drain with the camera to confirm all is well. The clog was located outside the house under my front lawn which had nothing to do with any of the $800-$8000 options that priority plumber gave me. He would have known that if he actually used the snake and/or camera. I was made to feel that my plumbing needs were not being addressed but rather just being used as a sales opportunity. Very frustrating experience and I'm really glad the $49 assessment fee was returned because paying that for the kind of service (or lack of) would of added an extra bitter taste.

    Fixed clogged drain

I called Priority Plumbing, after receiving a card in the mail, for a clogged drain in our apartment. Greg came, although a day late due to heavy rains that caused floods, and did a great job in assessing and fixing the clog. My review is lower than Greg deserves due to the pricing. For what was a total of one hour on site, paying over $400 seems much too high, and I will look for a different company next time.

Dear Reg, We appreciate your feedback. We understand that not everyone wishes to pay for the faster and more efficient level of service that we aim to provide. We work hard to keep our costs as low as possible and to provide value for your dollar. This is why we always provide a price upfront before we start any work and there are no surprises at the end of the job. We are pleased that you we're happy with our services and are always available to help when ever you need us. Thank you, Austin Tsakopoulos - Owner.

    Change a shower handle valve

At the end of last year we had some plumbing work at our place of business that needed to be done and we called Priority Plumbing. At the time, I was unhappy with the price and quality of the work and I complained here and to management there. We could not resolve the disagreement at that time. More recently the owner Austin took time to write me and ask if I was open to getting things resolved. Coincidentally, I was having another problem, this time in my home. I invited Austin to come out and make the repair, but without charge. He was quick to accept the opportunity to change my perception of his company and he helped set up an appointment. One of his team arrived at my door. He was polite, professional and took time to fix the issue and test that it was working properly. While he was there, I asked him about another issue and he was glad to look into it. 10 out of 10 on his work and professionalism. Austin then asked if he could send another of his team out to inspect the work done at our business and make any repairs necessary. I agreed and another very professional and competent plumber visited us that same day and made a repair to the work that was previously done. He too gets a 10 out of 10 for his work and professionalism. Austin has made a believer out of me about Priority Plumbing, him and his people. Thumbs up and thank you Austin!

Pipe Replacement - Roots in Pipes

We've used Priority Plumbing multiples times over the last year due to several issues (clogged sink, roots in our pipes in the basement, and then a general house check). I've never seen young men as excited to be plumbers as I have with Priority Plumbing, which is a good sign. When we had some mishaps with our pipe repair in the basement (it's an old house so surprises are a guarantee), our technician made sure to get everything fixed within a day - which was amazing!

    furnace plumbing

During a furnace component leak in January 2014, during a cold snap and right after the ice storm, my usual plumbing company was too busy to service the call, but indicated the repair was urgent. Luckily, Priority Plumbing answered their phone with a live service rep, and put me in their service queue. I was shocked to see Greg arrive within a few hours after being told it may be a day or more - he even called just prior to arriving. Greg immediately diagnosed the problem, patiently explained the solution and pricing. He went to work quickly draining the large old furnace and installed the new part. He was thorough, professional, and took care to thoroughly test all the components of the heating system to ensure the new part and post-install procedures worked. He even looked at some unrelated issues in the building and provided helpful suggestions. He was polite, highly experienced with older boilers, thorough, and knowledgable. Priority's excellent service meant only a minor disruption in heat servicing 11 units in subzero weather which the tenants didn't even notice. Very pleased with the excellent service - and quick response during a very high demand period.

    New shower fixture rough-in

I recently called Priority Plumbing to help install new plumbing rough-ins for my shower renovation. They were very flexible with scheduling which was an important factor for me. My serviceman, Greg, showed up in the given time window and worked out a plan with me for the new piping. He was great to work with and did the work in a timely, professional and friendly manner. One pipe was installed slightly out of position, but he came back right away and made the adjustment. So even though I felt the price was a little heavy I nevertheless felt very taken care of since Greg was a pleasure to work with and did excellent work on the project. Also, the scheduling flexibility was a big plus for me so I was willing to pay a bit more for that luxury.

    Frozen pipes

I have used this company on numerous occasions for different required plumbing services. I have never been disappointed. The service staff are courteous, professional and extremely helpful. Their office staff are understanding of the urgency of certain situations. I highly recommend this company. I was faced. As most during e cold freeze - of frozen pipes. Living in an 1892 Victorian home, I was terrified of a potential burst pipe !!!!! They were quick and efficient and took the time to consult with me on how to address a potential ongoing issue and god forbid - disaster !! Much praise.

    Plumbing

Used twice. Fantastic company! Problem the second time was under warranty. Always punctual, great price and just kind people. The second time we used them, the plumber could not have been more informative. They always make sure to tell you exactly what they are doing and how much it will cost.
