I contacted The Appliance Guy to have a leaking water dispenser/ice maker repaired in our refrigerator. In the absence of Joe (who was away for a week), Ross contacted me promptly to discuss our problem and to set a time to examine our fridge and make the necessary repairs. In spite of a raging snowstorm, Ross travelled all the way from Woodbridge to our midtown Toronto condo. I would have gladly forgiven him if he had postponed but he insisted on keeping our appointment, out of consideration for my taking the half-day to be available. Ross quickly diagnosed the problem and in spite some tricky manoeuvring with the tubing running under the fridge, made the necessary repairs and took the time required to test the water flow to ensure that there was no leakage. Polite, considerate, experienced, competent...how many more words can I use to describe Ross and the service he provided? I would not hesitate to recommend The Appliance Guy to anyone who requires appliance repairs.

Joe returned my call promptly and scheduled a service call for the next business day. He showed up on time and diagnosed the problem right away. He had to order a replacement part from the supplier. However, Joe did not stop there; he called around and sourced the part from another supplier, picked it up and returned to complete the repair the same day. All of that at a very reasonable cost. Keep up the great work Joe!

The appliance guy was punctual, friendly and very efficient.Great company. He is good value for money. He will be the first to call if any other appliance needs servicing. Highly recommended.

I contacted The Appliance Guy after reading rave reviews about the company on the HomeStars website. I wasn't disappointed. I spoke with Joe on a Friday and he came out the following Wednesday. After hearing my problem with our Dynasty stove (which it seemed no one would touch) he was honest about his reservations about being able to fix it; however, he was willing to come out and give it a try. Joe called the morning he was scheduled to come out to ask if it was OK for him to do a service call before mine. He told me when he expected to arrive and he was right on time. I have to say, I was totally impressed with him. He was knowledgeable, methodical, personable and best of all, solved the problem! Although the stove will eventually need a new motor, Joe told me I didn't need to replace it now (a part which will need to be specially ordered from the States). He recommended I wait until the problem reoccurred rather than pay for the part, another service call and the labour. He spent an hour at my house and was diligent in his efforts to isolate the problem. I have dealt with a lot of service people over the years and I think Joe is exceptional. He got three calls while he was with me and told one of the callers he would be able to get to her home today. I would strongly recommend Joe to anyone who needs an appliance repaired. I told you I was going to write a review Joe, and I meant it. Thank you!

I contacted Joe via the telephone to review some concerns regarding why my washing machine was always giving me a fault signal and stopping mid cycle. Joe asked me for a couple of days to review the problem and recommended that I call him on Monday to schedule an appointment. He was able to inspect the machine Monday afternoon, ran a preliminary test, had a new circuit board (though expensive) and installed it. Ran the diagnostic tests again and all seems to be in working order. Joe also gave me a packet of Affresh to help eliminate odours in the washing machine. Thanks Joe.

I had an issue with my freezer. Called the Appliance Guy Joe and he was at my house within a few hours on the same day. He assessed the problem and was able to efficiently and cost effectively fix it. On the same service call he also was able to fix a minor diswasher issue. Joe is very professional, knowledgable and focussed on helping his customer's in the most cost effective way. I was very impressed. Rob O

We had dealt once before with this problem that occurred just before Christmas... our gas stove overheated and gave us an error code, and would not turn on again. The stove came with the house, and when we first moved in almost 5 years ago, it gave us this problem, and we had gone through a couple of repair people and quite a bit of money to finally diagnose the problem. We got it fixed, and had not had a problem since. I could not remember the name of the initial repair person, nor was I particularly happy at that time, so I went to Homestars to find a good company to deal with. I called three companies before I called the Appliance Guy, based on one call and a couple of referrals, and they were all too busy to make time to come have a look. Joe was able to fit me in on the same day that I made the call. He came over, diagnosed what he suspected the problem was and gave me an estimate. Its never a happy time when you find out how much an old appliance is going to cost to fix. We weighed the options together of possibly getting a new stove brought in and what the connection and auxiliary costs would be for that, and decided that fixing the old one was going to be our cheapest option. He took a deposit, ordered the part, told me how long it was going to be. The part came in prior to what he told me was possible, and I was pleasantly surprised today to get a call saying that he was going to be able to come over. The part fit, the oven now works, and the cost was almost exactly what he said it was going to be. Joe is extremely friendly, understanding and professional in what he does. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to have an appliance repaired.

Our 10+ year washing machine had been leaking for a couple of months and based on the reviews here I contacted The Appliance Guy via email. Within one day Joe replied and left me a voice message. I spoke to Joe, he asked me a few questions including the make of the machine, the problem, etc. He said that he would be in my neighbourhood the next day and would call at 9:30 in the morning to set a time. He called at promptly 9:30 and said he would be by between 11 and 1. I asked if he could make it closer to 1 and he said that was not a problem as he could shift a few appointments to accommodate me. He called after 12 and said he would be there between 12:45 and 1 and he was. He had a quick look at the machine, diagnosed the problem and even had the right parts (a new motor and belt) in his van. Within 20 minutes, the job was done, and the washing machine was purring along like new. It's been a couple of weeks now and everything is running smoothly. What's more, Joe gave us free advice on how to extend the life of the washing machine and he also had a quick look at our fridge and did the same. Joe certainly knows what he's doing and was able to fix the problem without having to come back. Joe's prepared, professional, on time, and most of all he gets the job done. Thanks Joe!

easy, honest and effective. would definitely recommend to a friend. he came in and fixed the fridge efficiently. also made some suggestions on how to maintain the fridge. a bonus removed shoes before entering.
