Review from HomeOwner Review left on 19 Dec 2014Rating: 5 out of 5My wife and I have lived in our new home for almost a year now, and from the very first day we stepped foot in the showhome to today, we have been provided nothing but respectful and excellent customer service. As an example, we built in the winter and consequently the grading of our lot was delayed due to the ground being frozen. As a result of this, we had water flow issues that resulted in water damage in our basement. I first noticed this late one evening perhaps around 11:00, and I made a call to Trico's emergency contact line. I got through to someone right away who provided me guidance on how to prevent further damage that night, and first thing the next day they had a team in our yard to build a mock-berm to block the additional flow of water. Trico made no arguments or fuss about having to re-do some walls in our finished basement. In fact when the gentleman came to fix our basement, he went above and beyond and fixed scratches on the walls I made when moving the couches. At all steps along they way of owning our first new home, we felt secure knowing that Trico was there to help us, and we never questioned their dedication to us. I would genuinely recommend anyone build with Trico - you will not regret it.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Chalsey in the sales centre was great to work with. She was very helpful with ideas and suggestions. We would recommend working with Chalsey to anyone. The design center was a bit misleading and not as user friendly. We had an idea of what we wanted to upgrade and what was to be left standard. We went with the standard faucet in the bathrooms only to find that they are actually too short for the pedestal sink. It is unfortunate that the standard products chosen by Trico are not actually acceptable when installed. We have lived in our house 4 months and have a few quality concerns. We have had a basement leak, multiple leaking toilets, squeaky floors and unacceptable carpet to name a few issues. Trico has been quick to resolve the leaking issues however it has been very inconvenient to still have workers in our house on a regular basis. Our "Dream House" still has a lot of quality concerns that we hadn't expected with a builder like Trico. We love the design of our house but would be hesitant to recommend them as a builder without making the buyer aware of our quality concerns.Answer from pro:

We had our Trico home built in Mahogany in 2010, and everything was very positive and comforting until we gave them our money. After that point everything has just spiralled down hill. There isn't a single day now that we don't think about how much our family hates our Trico home. Our driveway has crumbled away following their sandblast fix when the issue was first brought up. A very thick layer of ice builds up on all the windows any time the temperature gets close to freezing as well as the patio doors, which has created mould problems. The vent fan lines out the side of the house have leaked causing drywall issues when the ice melts. It is embarrassing to bring company over when the temperatures get cold because of how drafty our home is. I could go on for days about the issues that have been brought up to Trico and bandaid fixed to the point we've given up our fight to keep our own sanity. I would not wish this experience on anyone. The quality of workmanship in our home is truly saddening. Would certainly look elsewhere for our next home.Answer from pro:
Hi Ryan, we are sorry to hear that you are not happy with your Trico Home. The thick layer of ice on your windows is due to condensation in your home. Every home has different levels of condensation due to several factors such as: cooking, showering, fish tanks, plants, laundry use etc. When the cold air from outside meets the interior warm/moist air it is common to see ice build up on the windows. Lifting your blinds 2"-4" will help with air movement. In addition, we recommend that during the cold temperatures you turn on the bathroom fans while showering and let it run for atleast 30 minutes afterwards. Turninig on the furnace ventalation system will also help. We are sincerely sorry that you feel this way about your home. Trico always stands behind our product and will repair and conduct inspections based on Alberta New Home Warranty standards and building codes. Please feel free to contact me at anytime. Sincerely, Nicole Walker Customer Relations Manager

We have recently moved in to our new Trico Home in the community of Heritage Hills, Cochrane. We were fortunate to have dealt with Ryan Campbell the area sales manager in Heritage Hills. He was very knowledgeable on the building process, professional and always available to help when needed. Ryan even helped us mount our TV after we moved in! The one negative part of the process was a very silly issue prior to closing that stressed us out and we were apprehensive it was going to be resolved by Trico management. This issue could have ruined the whole experience but because Ryan the sales person got involved he was able to resolve the issue and everything worked out good. I plan to refer more family to Trico in the area because of our experience. Peter in construction and Yasmina in service and warranty also deserve credit as they made for a great after possession experience. Over all I would highly recommend Trico and the great employees mentioned in this review for your next home.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

We were looking for a new house that will fit the specific needs of our family, We have our top 5 of must have's and as we went on our journey we found this house by Trico. This Trico house we bought have all the things that we needed (open backyard space, big walk-in closet and big bathroom in master's, double sink in common bath for our 2 daughters, granite beautiful kitchen + high ceiling)...jackpot! Also we are aware of Trico's good reputation as a builder and they are very active in community work and projects in AB (Calgary) as well. Those things gave us the confidence and trust that we are investing our time in the right house with the right builder. Everyone in Trico has been helpful and prompt in answering all our questions and requests. Overall, our move to the new house has been awesome.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

At the beginning of the year we started looking for a new home. We must have looked at every show home in South Calgary, nothing feeling right until we walked into the Trico Homes show home in Legacy. We were greeted by Erin and Carmen, who were by far the friendliest associates we encountered in our search. We moved into our home and the end of October and could not be happier! There were a few hiccups along the way, however, Trico took care of everything and were always there to answer our questions. The design centre where you pick all your interior was an incredibly fun experience and virtually stress free thanks to the help of the staff. It can be overwhelming looking at all the samples and putting everything together! Alexandra deserves a shout out because she was awesome at helping us find what we want and bringing it all together! She was really accommodating at our appointment and it was more than appreciated! Our house was built within the time frame Trico stated to us and the quality of their workmanship shows! Chris and Darrel (who took care of the construction of our home) were extremely knowledgeable and on top of everything. Unlike the experiences of some of our friends and family, we have never had a hard time getting in touch with Trico and having our needs addressed. Erin and Carmen looked after us from start to finish and to this day they still keep in touch with us when we cross paths within the community. Legacy has felt like home long before we moved in and we credit that to the awesome sales associates. They kept us in the loop throughout the whole construction process and walked us through our home numerous times as it was being built. Overall, we would recommend Trico Homes to everyone because the staff that works for this company is what makes Trico stand out from the other builders. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond.Answer from pro:

As a first time home builder and first time home owner, trico was very helpful throughout the process. I feel like they did their best to accommodate my wish list and make this house my "home." Chalsey in the sales centre was very knowledgable and a great resource. Upgrades at the design centre are fairly pricey but I think the same holds true for any builder. Things that were not done right the first time were addressed and I didn't have to fight for every little thing. I've been in for a month now and just finished the "trades day" to address outstanding items from possession and that was a bit disappointing. A lot of the items were not crossed off the list, and unfortunately now I'll probably be waiting until the 100 day visit. So far I've been told that everything will be addressed so hopefully that will be more productive than the trades day. Overall I am happy with the house and wouldn't hesitate to build with trico again.Answer from pro:
