Review from HomeOwner Review left on 30 Oct 2014Rating: 5 out of 5We just took possession of our new townhome at the legacy community, we have been looking for a perfect place with the right community and the perfect people to work with us through this journey, needless to say that I was 5 months in searching and when I was about giving up, my wife asked me to try one more show home. We walked into Trico homes reluctantly, Boy can I say that I was bought in right away just like going to superstore to pick up a gallon of milk and it's all because of the impeccable customer service from the sales team (Erin & Carmen). It takes a lot to impress / make me happy but WOWReview from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Trico homes has met and exceeded all our expectations for a new home build! From the excellent sales team (shout out to Erin and Carmen) to design and construction the whole process has been amazing! For first time homebuilders and hearing some horror stories from other people about building we are truly happy with the quality and hardwork that was put into our home. The sales staff were particularly amazing, Always ready to answer any questions, keeping us up to date weekly with pictures and updates of the house and would bring us through the house any time we wanted! And Chris the site supervisor has been great since we moved in keeping us up to date with the schedule of seasonal items to be finished. Would defiently say this has been one of the best experieces! I would recommend trico homes to anyone looking to build!Answer from pro:

I decided to build a new home and decided to use Trico based on the excellent reviews I read about this company. Unlike every other person I know who has built a new home I have zero complaints. My experience was fantastic. Every deadline was met, every promise kept. Everyone I dealt with at Trico goes above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. Shout out particularly to Crystal who seems to never sleep because she is always available 24/7 to respond to my emails/texts & calls. She has been so supportive throughout this entire building process I cannot say enough good things about her. The site guys (Rino, Derrick & Gary) have also been extremely helpful and always available to address even the littlest concern. The initial walkthrough process with Bill was also so positive. He noticed every little thing, things I would likely not have noticed at all. They truly want you to be over-the-moon pleased with your new home. Highly recommended!!Answer from pro:

We signed for our new home in February of this year and worked with Dan and Suzanne at the Trico Hillcrest show home in Airdrie. Both of them were very helpful from the first meet and we only have the greatest appreciation for their professionalism and customer service. We dealt mostly with Dan and he did an extraordinary job in providing us with all the required information, excellent recommendations, and answering all our questions satisfactorily. He patiently converted almost the entire house measurements from imperial to metric so that we were able to understand it better (Trico, this is the 21st century!) and must have worn his tape measure out, not flinching even once. All our e-mails to him were responded to promptly and he went well beyond his duty in providing sterling service. Dan is an exceptionally good customer-orientated sales manager and we very highly recommend him as a great starting point for a new home purchase.Review from John John

What a monumental disaster! We have been in our new home for one week today and this is how it looks: Photo 1 – Scratches on medicine cabinet. Photo 2 – Appalling workmanship; schluter is flush with the wall at the top and gradually moves away along a widening gap to the bottom. Photo 3 – Damage to all three the bathtubs in the house. Photo 4 – Piping hanging freely in the air and not safely attached. Photo 5 – Left door opens against the wall; no door stoppers on several doors. Photo 6 – We were told by the inspector that the grading around the house is perfect but this is how it looks. Photo 7 and 8 – this is how our en-suite looks after a week, broken tiles and dust and debris everywhere. Photo 9 – Broken window and torn screen. Photo 10 – Scratched countertop. Photo 11 – Scratched closet door. Photo 12 – Missing kitchen cabinet door and still waiting for the crown moulding to be installed. Photo 13 – Multiple scratches on kitchen cladding. Photo 14 – Multiple kitchen surfaces have a white, dull and ugly appearance. Photo 15 – Guest bedroom is storage area for the shower glass. And a long list of other items, including drywall issues, lighting problems, none of the installed Cat5 cables for the internet are functional, etc., way too numerous to list here. On a number of spots the carpet delivers rather nasty painful pricks to our feet when walking on it. We were informed that this is part of the installation and cannot be helped – yeah, like we were born yesterday. The light above the range is installed incorrectly and there are holes beneath one set of the upper kitchen cabinets, but the inspector said we cannot document those errors because we had to bend down to see it – we are only allowed to record errors while standing up straight – even a kid knows that is not right. The inspector responsible for the final inspection before possession, who was in a great rush, noted but did not document half of the deficiencies and we are living in a world of green tape indicating all the shortcomings and flaws. Trico is very casual about all this and we believe they do not care in the least about our insufferable inconveniences, as there was ample time for them to rectify these issues as the majority of it was present long before possession. We were promised that the tiling will be complete today and the shower glass will follow tomorrow, but this will clearly not transpire at all. We were promised no mess in our en-suite, but it looks like a disaster zone when we returned from work today. Our towels, bath mats, sinks and countertop, bath and everything else covered in a thick layer of dust, and debris trailing on the carpet all the way down to the kitchen. We have e-mailed the warranty department twice with photos showing the problems, but sadly have yet to hear back from them. Our first Canadian home turned out to be the most painful experience of our lives! I cannot recommend strongly enough that you steer well clear of this company when it comes to buying a new home; there are much better alternatives available. This is comfortably a 0 out of 10 score so far.Answer from pro:
Hi Rico, Firstly, I would like to apologize for the items that remain outstanding in your home. When reading this review I immediately contacted the Construction and Warranty department. Yasmina Rodesly has been in contact with you and scheduled all trade contractors for a "Trades Day" to complete the remaining work. In addition the Operations Manager has been in touch with you. I have been advised the work is complete and that yourself and Yasmina have been in contacted regularly. Thank you so much for your patience. We sincerely apologize and look forward to working with you during your warranty period. Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Yasmina at anytime. Nicole Walker Customer Relations Manager

We took possession of our Trico home in Airdrie in August of 2013. There were a few bumps during the build process but once we moved in and the Warranty department took over, it was smooth sailing. The workmanship in our house is great. Family members with home building experience have said it's one of the best built homes they've ever been in. Yasmina and Don in the Warranty department have been so great to deal with, making sure that everything is fixed or changed to match with our original design. Don has even given us a few helpful tips for future maintenance or repairs. So helpful.Answer from pro:

We recently moved into our new home in Legacy and just want to say a huge thank you to the Trico Team! Sharon and Carmen are such amazing ladies, they make you feel like family. There were a few concerns/Questions closer to the end, but again Carmen and Sharon were on it, and made sure things were done right and answered all our questions. Chris also was wonderful and helpful... We love our new homeAnswer from pro:

We recently purchased a show home by Trico in the Nolan Hill area. The level of customer service shown by the entire team was absolutely amazing. From the sales to the moving in and the follow-up, everyone we encountered was patient, helpful and efficient. Definitely a very honest builder and will not leave the buyer hanging after the hand over. Whenever we needed some thing looked at, they would send someone over within the week and sometimes even within the day! Would recommend.Answer from pro:

Trico built my wife and I a beautiful home in Airdrie. It was a spec home model that was the same as their show home. Even though it was spec home, changes were made for us even in the middle of framing. They moved walls that were already made and did other upgrades. All the finish design was customizable. I had friends that bought a spec home from Excel in Cochrane. The foundation wasn't even poured in theirs but they couldn't make any changes. The only thing they could pick was their design PACKAGE. I feel like we picked a better builder. Also I was very impressed at their committment to make sure that I had the house I asked for. They proved this when they scraped the stipple off the ceiling to make it knock down 1 week before possession.Answer from pro:
