    Tuckpointing on exterior brick wall

I had some serious crumbling mortar that I had made some very amateur attempts to fix over the last few years, but I finally decided to hire a professional. A&A's quote was exactly the same as the one I received from my general contractor, but for this job, I wanted to hire a specialist. From the initial estimate, through to the timely start and completion of the project, and ending with a follow-up call from the owner, working with A&A was a pleasure. This review is about a month late, so I've forgotten some names. The estimator (Pierre?) was a great, personable guy who took the time to explain, advise, and document the work that would be done. The two guys that arrived to do the job also took the time to answer all my questions, provide their professional opinion on the original brick work and the reasons why they were going to take the approach they did, and even provided a bit of extra repairs beyond what I was expecting from the quote. They finished in two days, and cleaned up so that I never knew they were there. Great job all around and I would not hesitate to recommend A&A--in fact, someone in my neighbourhood, who must have noticed the work when it was being done, asked me who had done the job, and I gave them A&A's name without hesitation. Thanks again!

Dwight and Dwayne just finished some parging and foundation repair work at my house and I must say that I was very impressed. They completed the work in a timely manner and did a great job. chimney repair, tuck pointing

We just can't say enough of the professionalism and expertise that Dwight and Dwane showed while working on our home. Honestly, our chimney looks brand new and the only reason we know there was work done on our bricks was that we knew how terrible they looked before-everything blends so well. Thanks for your impressive work ethic as well - very professional.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Rhonda & Peter! Dwight & Dwayne are definitely upholding the A&A standard, and I'm proud to have them on our team. --Andy

    Tuckpointing and new chimney

Thank you Bill for a very reasonable quote and answering my many e-mails so promptly, even in the evening, and thank you Dwight and Dwayne for being so approachable, courteous, professional, and for working from dawn until dark to finish the tuckpointing and the new chimney on our home. You are A-1. Everything was very well done and the cleanup was better than when you started.

    Answer from pro:

Stress crack in 80 year old brick home

We had several companies come in to quote the job of repairing a large stress fracture and removing two old wall ac's that went through the brick to the exterior of the house. Right away, we knew that Brad was our guy. There was no competition. He and his crew were so respectful of our property and cleaned up so well - there's hardly any evidence that they were here at all. We are totally impressed with their professionalism and would highly recommend them. Thanks so much guys!

Thanks Jodi! By the way, Joe told me that it was a real pleasure working for you and Sid. Thanks for treating the guys so well. --Andy

What a fabulous experience! Our family purchased a century home in downtown Toronto. We had many cracks, and I was worried about water damage and our structure. Thank you Eddie and Augusto for your hard work and experstise. Our home looks great and I feel so much more confident!

    Brick replacement, tuckpointing, parging

Fantastic work and customer service! I had a problem with water seeping into the basement wall and A & A fixed my problem quickly and at an affordable price. They didn't try to talk me into more expensive work, only what was necessary and they did little extras to go beyond that. Joe seems to be a perfectionist so the new brickwork and parging looks just great! Thanks guys!!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you, Rose! And you are right -- Joe is a perfectionist. Good quality for the guy who's going to end up running our delivery one of these days.

    Resizing an existing window opening

We came across A&A Masonry after seeing one of their trucks drive through our area. We live in a century old home and needed to put in a new 4'-0" wide window in place of a much smaller existing window. Brad provided a fair quote, answered every question I had, sourced out a proper rock faced sill to match our other sills, even dropped off brick samples for us so that we can see that it would be a close match. Andy scheduled us immediately given our renovation timeline. From the day Brad made the initial visit to our house to when the job was completed took no more than 10 days! The team that did the work was amazing. Ronaldo, Augusto and Danny were courteous, hardworking and skilled. They arrived on time, did a beautiful job and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. The bricks used to fill in the existing window were so closely matched I can't even tell them apart! We'll definitely keep you in mind for all our future projects and would not hesitate to recommend A&A to our family and friends. Thank you!!

Bricks tuck pointed, fallen brick arch over a window reinforced and re-built

A&A Masonry did a great job with the tuck pointing of our house, but mainly I was so impressed with the brickwork they did over a basement window. It looks amazing, and they matched the brick so well that you can barley tell work was done. As well, they stuck to their quoted price. Thank you!

    Answer from pro:

Thanks Anne! I'll pass this on to Dwight, who did the work. All the best, Andy

    Rebuild and repair chimney

Joe and Kyle took down the section of chimney above the roof and rebuilt it. Joe saved the good bricks from the take-down to repair various sections of the chimney from the roof down. They worked steadily, and efficiently and did an excellent job. Most impressive in 31C weather. They cleaned the work site up. They were courteous. Joe took time to explain what he did and gave us lots of useful information about old chimneys, old brick, and how old chimneys are connected to the double brick wall. From the initial examination and quote with Brad to the end of the job, our experience with A&A Masonry was one of fair pricing, clear communication and information that increased our learning, great clean up, excellent work. Thanks to Brad, Andy, Joe and Kyle.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Gil, Thank you very much! I passed this on to Joe, Kyle and Brad. Best Regards, --Andy
