installation of furnace and ac unit

Advise wanted ac installed off ground left on floor. Sales and installer lack of communication. Furnace Duct work leaking. Refusing to come and inspection workmanship. Customer service Grant and sales Chris both useless to company. Too busy arguing with customer instead of physical presence of inspection then talk.

    Answer from pro:

Hello Mr. Samson, from your first call to us, we were trying to assess what your issue was, but you felt it more satisfying to just yell at us! You ranted on without any stopping, screaming at us like a crazy man....Grant simply asked you to explain your problem and we promised to have a technician come back to fix it...but you didn't want to tell us your issues! You kept over speaking over Grant, yelling at him. He is a wonderful customer service agent, with amazing patience, but you hung up on Grant - twice! Our only goal was to sort out your complaint and fix it, but you just wouldnt stop yelling at my staff! We told you on each occasion that we'd be more than happy to put the unit on brackets and put a piece of tape over the air leak. We told you Friday july 22nd to call us Monday, july 25th- to book an appointment for our technician to come back, but instead of calling us today like arranged, you decided to do a one sided review on homestars with the only goal of spewing negativity all around, and make us look unprofessional when we are not. This is unfair sir. We told you many times we'd be happy to put it on brackets for you. We never at any point said no. We speak to hundreds of people a day, they are all professional and nice to speak to even when they are stressed, but honestly sir, you didn't allow one word in and spent all conversations ranting and raving at us, speaking over us and yelling. And now it continues through Homestars...what a waste of time. We could have fixed this by now. If you truly want us to help you, call us at 416-503-8188 and we will do everything you originally asked us to, happily. Marnie Amodeo General Manager

    Heating and AC Upgrade

Our very old air conditioner and furnace were in need of updating, and so began our search for a company who could supply and install new ones for us. Having received quotes from several contractors and major suppliers, we chose Convertible Air. The salesman Mike was excellent to work with. He was low pressure, informative, punctual, and responsive. I would gladly do business with him again. The service technician Adam was very good, and it is obvious he is a skilled tradesman. He and his colleague arrived on the day of install on time, and worked in a very organized manner. They cleaned up well afterwards, and were considerate of the property while working. A very professional job was done. Overall I rate Convertible a 10/10 for their service so far.

    Answer from pro:

    Central AIr and Furnace Install

Had a new furnace and central air installed at the beginning of June. Chris was a great help in explaining our options and the price was right. We got a quote from another well known local installer but they couldn't compete with the price and admitted up front that they use sub-contractors, something Convertible does not do. On the day of install the installers were on time and very professional. They explained the entire process and made me feel very comfortable. One of biggest concerns during install keeping our cats inside. When I got home that night after the install was complete they told me that while they were removing the old equipement from the basement they barricaded the basement door to ensure our cats did not get out! How awesome is that. We only ran into one snag. The chimney liner installer was not able to make it. I called Chirs and he immediatley made arrangments for them to come the next weekend, (even though they don't work weekends), in order to fit our schedule. Overall we are thoroughly pleased with Covertible. From the initial consult, to the install, to the price. The whole experience was great and I would highly recommned them.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Jim. Nice to hear back from you and for sharing your positive feedback. I am pleased that you are happy with our services. Yes our installers are awesome and happy that they took care, not to let your cats out during the installation. I would expect nothing less from our crews. We appreciate any future recommendations. Always happy to be of service to you. Sincerely Antoinette

    Air Conditioning unit

I am very pleased with the service. The whole process of removing the old and replacing with a new air-conditioning unit went smoothly. I was in no way pressured by anyone into getting a larger unit or subscribe to some unnecessary service agreement, which is the usual ploy used by other companies into making more money. The technician, Adam, was very professional, considerate, tidy, and unobtrusive. On completing the installation, he made sure the area was cleaned up, leaving no hint that a major unit had been replaced. He was kind and answered all my questions knowledgeably. To his credit and the overall service by Convertible Heating and Air Conditioning, I give a 5 Star and A++++++++ rating.

    Great Product, great service

It started with the call to this company. Sandy knew by the serial number on the old air conditioner that it was the builder model, but the correct size for my house. He gave me options, and I decided that buying new would be the best course of action in my circumstance, as my house is 13 years old, and this is typically how long a builder grade air conditioner would last. Instead of paying $400 to fix an old, worn out product, I went with a new unit for $2300. The service people who came to our house were great. They answered all my questions and took the extra time needed to ensure that the new unit was working properly. And they arrived an hour before their scheduled visit!!! When does that ever happen with a contractor? I would highly recommend this company for all of your heating and air conditioning needs. They are a family business that has been around for 50 years. This is not some fly by night operation, and their prices are great to boot.

Thank you for this review. I apologize for the dealy, but wanted to ensure you know we got it and are very grateful for it. And I do agree, our Adam Squared team are incredible. We are very proud of them. They both started with Convertible as apprentices almost 15 years ago for Adam 1 and about 9 years ago for Adam 2. They have a bright future with us, as do all our staff who do incredible, safe immaculate installations every day. Thank you once again, Marnie Amodeo, General Manager

Air Condition installation (A/C unit and Install)

This is the second time we have used convertible air systems in a new home install. Their services are professional quick and their prices are very competitive. I highly recommend them for A/C or Heating installations.

Good service but gotta double-check their numbers

UPDATED (and downgraded): See the end for initial review. In the contract I signed, it said I would get a $650 rebate for the A/C & Furnace I chose, turns out it was only $250. When I called in they said it was a typo and apologized (but didn't change anything). I understand, the problem was in the initial quote Chris wrote out (while he was here), he ALSO had a numbers error, which ended up in both the original quote and the final contract showing similar numbers that were both $300-400 less than what I actually paid. Do I believe they were both sincere mistakes? Yes (I hope). But the fact is that Chris made a numbers error in his favour on every quote and contract he gave me. When I called in they were very nice, and I get that mistakes happen it just pays to slow down and be accurate or bite the bullet when you aren't. I'm in the industrial sales sector myself and I understand what it's like to write up a quote wrong so I sympathize but for that reason I would not strongly recommend them. I was satisfied with their final price, and although I haven't yet tested the furnace out, I still have to install the external intake myself. Unfortunate as they're probably a quality company in general, just a few mistakes made it so I can't personally recommend my experience to others. NOTE: I previously posted 10/10 and the description below: These guys did great. The owner's son Chris came out to quote us on a central-air A/C unit. The family coming out means a lot to me because I know he's in it for the long-haul. His quote was simple. straight-forward and it was the cheapest number out there after he gave us an added discount to get the furnace done too. I would say it was a perfect experience except that they installed the intake air for the furnace into the basement instead of outside. This is within code, just not my preference--granted I didn't tell them what I preferred as i thought it was standard practice. I will likely just do it myself as it's literally one hole in the wall and 2 sections of $10 PVC pipe from home depot. Just have to make sure it doesn't void any warranty. It was just installed 2 days ago and we won't be using the furnace until the fall, but if I don't return here and post something negative in the future, you'll know that everything worked out great. Peace!

Andy, please accept my thanks for this review and my apology for the tardiness. I had missed a few reviews come in and wanted to ensure they were all replied to. Yes, my little brother Christoper is a good guy, very honest and always running around like crazy for his customers, but he sometimes needs to slow down! Your are right, and that was the cause for the confusion on the products and rebates. We do not mess around with important issues such as that, and I thank you for your original 10/10 review as well as your follow up comments. We take everything to heart and really work hard every day to fix glitches and never repeat mistakes. Our 50th birthday party is in January, we like to think we did something great to make it this far! We thank you for being a part of it, I am always a phone call away if you need anything in the future. Marnie Amodeo General Manager & Vice President Convertible Heating & AC
