Review from HomeOwner Review left on 11 Oct 2012Rating: 5 out of 5This was my first experience having a home inspection as I am a new home owner. Alan and his team were amazing! They took their time going through the house explaining everything to me, with great patients I must add. He went above and beyond to find everything that could possibly cause us a problem and figure out how and why it was happening, he even went as far as giving us numbers of reliable contractors to have any work done... Thank you Alan for taking something that was a bit stressful and making it a calm and enjoyable experience!!!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I strongly recommend Alan & his services. Not only is he professional and thorough, he has an easygoing manner which made us a key part of the home inspection AND well-informed buyers. It's a pity that his findings ended up diminishing our desire for the house-in-question, BUT -- that's exactly what home inspections are for (reality). We will definitely be working with Alan again.Answer from pro:
Thanks Chris, easy going is definately key in an already stressfull situation. Unfortunately this place wasnt for you, but I'm confident the next time you will be even more aware of what to look for in your search from having followed me around and learning during the 1st inspection. Best of luck guys. Alan - AllMax

Dealing with Alan was great. Very professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. Although this was my first Inspection, it went better than I expected it to go. He was very thorough, and also gave me a whole bunch of tips for the new home that I wouldn't receive reading a manual or anything. Excellent, I would definitely recommend!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

To Alan we are not just "customers" we are people, people in need of assistance, reassurance, and guidance finding and fighting mold which is a very scary thing when discovered in your home. His recommendations were extremely appreciated and his follow-up and availability the best. Highly recommend!Answer from pro:
Linda, I am completely sympathetic and understanding of how stressful it can be when worrying about the health and safety of your family in your own home. I am glad you called and we got exact results as to what was going on inside your place. It may have been surprising, but now you know exactly what to do about it and move forward with a healthy conscience. Also going forward please feel free to email or call if you feel you are being swindled by a contractor. I hate when they take advantage of situations and will be more than happy to give some free advice, look over a quote or even recommend a few good people. As promised I will be in touch later this week. :) Alan - AllMax

I emailed Alan a few times before booking him, and his communication was excellent. We had the misfortune of water damage into our ceiling, so I wanted to make sure he would take a look at our roof. On the day of the inspection, he showed up on time for our appointment and went through our entire home. Alan went above and beyond (literally!) and scaled our house to inspect and photograph the state of the roof. He also went into our attic to get a view of the roof problem from the inside. Together, we went through the entire house and he explained the other deficiencies and helped to write up the report. I'm happy that we chose AllMax for our one-year warranty inspection.Answer from pro:
Thanks Chi, It certainly was a windy day and a difficult climb up, but you had a very specific problem and I needed to get to the "top" of it (literally) to show you how to get your new builder to rectify the problem. You now know exactly what mistakes were made and how to approach the builder in the required repairs. I find that being a great inspector is only 50% of how good your technical or investigative skills are and the other 50% is good communication. If the message isn't conveyed properly then the point can be confusing or even lost on a home owner, especially if they have no understanding of construction or are first time house owners. I was happy I could help you with this peculiar situation. Best Regards, Alan - AllMax

This was my first experience of a home inspection and I looked into 4-5 companies before I decided on Allmax home inspection. My husband and I decided with Allmax because we were impressed the owner of the company Alan, would conduct the inspection and he was very flexible with arranging the date for us. Alan went through the inspection so thoroughly and understanding! We were so satisfied and confident in our decision of purchasing our new home! We would definitely recommend Allmax home inspection!! The process of buying a house can be a very overwhelming and daunting one. Alan, from Allmax, helped to make this process easier. Alan was punctual, professional, and very knowledgeable. He patiently explained the inspection process and walked me through the results in "lay man" terms. Beyond doing a wonderfully detailed and thorough job of inspecting the house, Alan showed interest in the fact that I was planning on finishing the basement. He provided me with names of trustworthy and reliable contractors and painters. All in all, I am thoroughly impressed and pleased with the service provided to me by Alan, from Allmax. Without any hesitation, I would definitely refer him to anyone that I know who needs a home inspection. Thank you, Alan!!!Answer from pro:
It was my pleasure to help. As you noticed I do enjoy my job very much and take pride in providing exceptional service. I wish you the best in your transition. Regards, Alan

Review left on 24 Sep 2012Rating: 5 out of 5Pre-Sale Inspection
Earlier in the summer, I listed my home and was sold within days upon contingent of home inspection. The buyer brought in their own inspector, and claimed there was a possible issue with my basement - but they were not definitive of their findings. In the next few days, the buyer brought in more "experts" (some of whom were more eager to sell a solution than to really diagnose whether or not there is a problem in the first place). Needless to say, in the end, the buyer got so confused / worried that they backed out of the deal. After the deal fell through, I found myself in the worst situation that could happen to a seller; I was not sure where the buyer's claim was substantiated, I was defenseless because I never knew there could be an issue, and worst of all I was left with a home with a tarnished reputation. To investigate this situation, and to do my due diligence as a seller, I contacted Alan for a pre-sale inspection. (Alan was highly recommended to me by a friend in the real estate business). Alan did a very thorough investigation of the property, and found that there was no issue with the basement. He was able to dispute the buyer's claim, and explained why the buyer's inexperienced inspector may have misinterpreted a very common phenomenon for a sign of trouble in the basement. In the end, Alan provided a very detailed and easy to read report outlining his factual findings before I re-listing my house on the market. Armed with the pre-sale inspection report, I had confidence that I was putting a good house back on the market, and it sold to a new buyer. My agent provided the pre-sale inspection report to the new buyer, and they were satisfied with it that they even waive the home inspection clause. The house is now sold, and I'm thankful that AllMax came to the rescue. Thank you Alan for all your help and expertise!!Answer from pro:
I am glad you waited to write the review after the house sold :) It certainly puts everything into perspective. Some times experts give varying opinions, but if they cant qualify their comments then what is it all worth?? I am so happy that it all worked out, you got some peace of mind and can now focus on your new endeavours abroad. Best of luck on your journey, Alan - AllMax

After reading many of the positive reviews for AllMax, I gave them a call to do the 1 year warranty inspection on our house. Alan arrived right on time. He was very thorough, explained everything he did, and answered all of our questions. The report Alan did was also very easy to understand. I would definitely recommend Alan and AllMax for home inspections.
