The norm is approx 1hr for 1000 sq ft, 2hrs for 2000 sq ft, 3hrs for 3000 sq ft (excluding the basement) etc; sometimes the cleanliness state of a system throws these norms out the window! Other factors that can cause delays include complexity of a home's system etc. In which case, time delays are inevitable.
