    Repair

    I found it to be too expensive for such a brief assessment. Money wasted and now still stuck with a broken appliance I don’t know what to do with. Would recommend others out there that are half the price.

    Oven FIXED

    Qaiser came by today, fixed our oven within 30 minutes. This was easy to book with ARS and I was happy they stayed committed to the agreed upon time COVID cautious and respected our space and time. We're Very Happy!

    Bad Experience

    I have never been so incensed with an appliance repair service as I have here. SO MANY things are open ended. Apparently, I am the only customer who does not receive emails from them! I have had to call and ASK for invoices to see what is going on. From the tech who came and left nothing other than a slip from his mobile payment system and my having to badger their people for answers and receipts.... I am also made to feel like the email issues are mine. I can send emails to them but they cannot send they cannot send one to me. I would NEVER recommend this company. BUT I am glad that others had good experiences. No wonder I cannot rate them with stars from here. It makes me wonder who gave them the other stars. The initial service call was Sept 16 and today, Sept 28 I STILL have no idea when my dryer will be fixed. NOW my only hope is my drier gets fixed so I can dry my clothes. To date, I have spent approx $165.00 and ONLY have 2 pieces of paper showing $100.57 AND my drier is STILL broken!!!! BOOOO!!!

    LG Refrigerator / Freezer Issue

    Just had Adi and Raoul here to fix our LG Fridge. The freezer was not working. FANTASTIC experience. Extremely knowledgeable. Diagnosed the issue quickly, had all the right parts on hand and fixed the unit. Both were experienced technicians, Adi was teaching Raoul how to do a compressor replacement. Excellent instructor as he walked him through the whole process, explaining all the steps. Would highly recommend ARS for any appliance repairs.

    Ripped off

    I called Samsung customer service and they recommended ARS to repair my 4 years old range. One of the burner was not working. I Got scheduled an appointment today for a technician to diagnose my range burner. After only 30 second checked up and the technician told me to replace a burner plus labour fee is around $700 plus. But I told him Samsung told me the burner is under warranty so I just have to pay for labour fee. The technician told me Samsung never warranty any part after one year and he refused to follow up with Samsung and charged me $135.60 and left my door. What a rip off !

    Service for LG washer

    Smell recurring in the tub. The technician noted immediately an installation error. He also gave good advice for ongoing maintenance. He followed up with a documentation email. Wore mask as per Covid protocol and had shoe coverings. Knowledgeable, helpful and respectful.

    Unprofessional and unreliable technician and service

    The technician came to repair my Samsung refrigeration. He just stayed for less than 15 minutes and only based on my explanation of what's wrong with my fridge without removed a screw to check. He said a new control board for display panel should be replaced, but the parts is no longer available since my fridge is more than 7 years. I asked him to check with Samsung Parts department and their parts suppliers. He said he will ask ARS to check and call me later. No reply from ARS for the later days. I checked with Samsung Parts and other parts supply companies, they said that the parts for my fridge model is available. So I called ARS to see whether they found the parts or not. They have not done this until I called and said they will check and call me later. Two days later, they called me and said the parts was available and told me the total cost (labor + parts) will be C$460. I knew from Samsung that the parts cost C$150, so ARS labor charge will be $310. It is so high to my expectation, so I refused to let them to do the repair as they are dishonest from the beginning to find parts for customer. I don't know how frequent they just send technician to customer and saying that there is no parts or cannot be repaired and charge customer the diagnosis fee $120 without doing anything. Their service makes customers feel very disappointed and not reliable.

    Poor service, poor communication, zero accountability

    Before writing a negative review, I always give a company the opportunity to rectify the situation. Despite several attempts on my end to come to an amicable resolution, ARS refused to compensate me for inadequate service or even take accountability. Seemed more inclined to give excuses than empathize with the customer. So here we are ... Hired ARS to come check out our tenants' gas stove as the pilot light was going off in the oven mid cook. The tech never called me to explain his diagnosis. Instead, just received a terse invoice indicating that the "ignition" was working properly. As I had never reported a problem with the ignition, I immediately requested more info on the invoice and confirmation that the thermocouple and its connection to gas valve was looked at. This email was never responded to. I called a week later and spoke to a customer service agent and explained I was unhappy with the service and annoyed that more information had yet to be provided. I requested to speak to a supervisor. A supervisor never called me. Six days later, and only after I had filled in a company online survey, a customer service rep called me and left me a VM. Two days later, I finally connected with the rep (they are having very long hold times). She explained that if I was unhappy with the service, ARS could send another tech out to look at the problem free of charge. At this point several weeks had passed and I needed to hire another company ($100 service fee) to come out and look at the situation as the tenants were still experiencing the problem. This company tech did call me and explained his diagnosis and provided further detail on the invoice. I appreciate that a tech does not always find "the" problem on a service call. But either a phone call to the home owner or a more detailed description of the diagnosis is warranted. And if they are willing to come out again for free for another diagnosis, that should be relayed to the customer. I gather ARS is quite busy at the moment and I suspect overworked. Fair enough. But that is not the fault of the customer. If they provide poor service, they should address that in some way. At the very least, respond to the customer when they reach out. To this day, I still don't know if the technician did a full diagnosis or just focussed incorrectly focussed on the ignition. I have spent way too much time on this!!

    Washer Initial Service Appointment

    We had an issue with our washer, called the service rep who gave us two companies with whom to follow up. We checked Homestars reviews and went with the higher rated company, ARS. Setting the appointment was easy. We selected a date, and the week ahead received a call with a service window. On the day of service, we received a call 10 minutes ahead of the technician's arrival with his name and ETA. The service technician arrived as scheduled, took appropriate COVID-related safety precautions, was clean, friendly, efficient and effective. He assessed the issue quickly and gave us a quote on repair. We paid for the visit, and received the receipt promptly. This was as smoothly as such an event can go. I will not hesitate to reach out to ARS again!

    Beyond Disappointed

    Called them out to fix the fan in our Samsung fridge. I was told the part was no longer in production and there was a lot of hesitation before the technician agreed to defrost and fix the fridge. The same day, after a $325 service fee, the ice machine broke. ARS will not send out a technician to check the problem, wants to charge a second call-out fee, and says it's a total coincidence that the ice dispenser broke on the same day that the technician came (after 10 years of working fine). I am very disappointed after reading such great reviews that this company has actually made our fridge issue worse.
