    Washer/Dryer broken 5 months now

Three techs were sent out, each diagnosing a problem and ordering parts. The parts took months to come. Once they were installed, none of my issues were fixed, as the tech never checked the machine, only installed a new label and control knob. I called back and a new tech was sent out. He said I needed to replace the parts that were just replaced. I waited patiently for parts to arrive and now 1 month later I called the manager, Raj, and he said they switched systems and there was no record of my parts order. He said he could send a fifth tech out; I said one was just here, I need the parts! This has been the most infuriating experience of all-around inadequacy I've ever experienced from a repair service.

    Gas cooktop installation

Our old gas cooktop was having problems, so we called ARS to look into it. Peter, the gas technician, was friendly and also clearly very competent; he explained the various tests he was performing and what they indicated. It turns out that repairing it would have been quite costly -- so Peter put the cooktop back together for us (it was still working, though inconsistently), and didn't pressure us at all to make a decision or commit to a repair, which we really appreciated. In the end, we decided to purchase a new cooktop and had ARS do the installation. Thankfully, they sent Peter again, and he worked efficiently and also explained the safety checks he'd performed for us. If it were all about Peter, this review would have been a 10. On the customer service side, there were some scheduling issues and I had to call more than once to get my receipt. But overall, we were happy with the work done.

No services rendered; charged 3 times quoted price

LG contracts out to these guys. Issues right from the first call we had with them. I am beyond irritated with the service, or lack thereof, from ARS (Appliances Repair Service). Their employees are incompetent, unprofessional and lack customer service skills. Their computer software is outdated, it cannot keep track of client orders, calls, references, ordering parts, opening and closing tickets, or keeping accurate accounting. Service guy named Edgar came. He diagnosed the problem. We told him to hold off on ordering parts as we had to discuss between husband and wife before going ahead with it. Either way, we decided to go ahead with the ordering parts. They said they would charge us 50% of the cost upfront in order to order the parts and 50% of the cost at time of the fix. We were charged almost 3 times the amount. No one called us to tell us parts had come in. No one called us to tell us to reschedule and have the service guy come in to install. No service has been performed by anyone. We have a dead fridge. It has been 2 weeks since the initial call. The parts were supposed to arrive 3-5 business days. Nothing has happened. They argue that the service technician's side of the story is correct and ours is incorrect. They do not want to refund our total money. They do not want to negotiate a new price. They have inconvenienced us. They have not told us the truth. We also do not have anything in writing. No invoices. They claim there is nothing in the system to track any of our conversations, yet I have everything in writing, because I took the time to write all the notes down so I can take time off of work to be at home when the service tech does come to do the work. This has been the MOST unpleasant experience I have EVER had with any service to date. LG Canada really needs to re-evaluate doing business with a third party service company like ARS. Totally unprofessional, no customer service skills, outdated technology, and no financial accounting skills whatsoever. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company.

Worst service we have every receives and out $1300!

Double ovens broken. 1st repair man misdiagnosed. 2nd call was cancelled 2 hours into the 4 hr window they gave us and we took day off work! 3rd call they call to say someone mixed up appointment and couldn't come. Took day off for this too. Part comes and still doesn't work. 4th call they send different guy who says we need same part due to fault. It comes and IT doesn't work. Tell us it's a connector wire issue. 6th call, senior technician finds troubleshooting paper IN the oven electrical board and says it's the wrong diagnosis. Owner wants ANOTHER $1300 for proper part. Wont return any of our calls!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

    appliance repairs

Prompt service for three appliances in need of repair. Only two appliances needed parts and the service man was back to complete the repairs within a couple of days. I would recommend ARS.

    Overpriced Simple Oven Repair

Our gas oven quit working so we called this company. The service person arrived a few hours later and quickly diagnosed the ingnitor was no longer working as we suspected. After waiting for a longer time to get a quote than to diagnose the problem we were told it would cost over $325 to spend five minutes replacing a new ignitor. After we quit laughing in astonishment we discovered the flat rate repair fee of $160 plus the replacement ignitor was marked up to almost twice the price available through a Canadian appliance parts provider. Needless to say we thanked the pleasant but equally astonished repair person and paid the $80 'diagnostic' fee. This company needs to publish their flat rate fee prior to suckering in people on minor repairs with overpriced replacement parts. I paid $80 to find out the problem and $85 to order my own replacement part which I will have delivered in two days. I will be making a point of not recommending these bandits.
