    Stay away from this company, save your money.

    Here is what happened, my LG top load washer wouldn't power on (since last Friday) so I searched on google and it was suggested that if basic troubleshooting steps as outlined on LG website didn't work then the main controller board needed to be replaced. Then I searched for appliance repair companies in Scarborough and the first google ad showed up for "Express Appliance repair". I called them on Friday evening and specifically told the girl that took my call my LG washer model number and the issue of faulty main controller board that needed replacing. The girl told me that the technician that will visit me will have these parts as they were commonly carried by them. When the technician arrived on Saturday morning, he fiddled around a bit then told me that the main control board needed to be replaced, I told him that this is what I already told the girl when I logged the service call so why he came for the service call when he didn't have the part. Then he called LG (I am not sure where he called but that's what he told me so I believe him), after talking on phone for a bit, he told me that LG doesn't make this part anymore and I need to replace the washer. After that he demanded $89. I asked him to give me a printed copy of the invoice and he said that he can only email me a copy of the invoice after I paid. At that point I had no other choice but to pay the man because my wife / kids / old mother were at home and I didn't want to create a scene in front of them but I told the guy that this was a very unfair practise of deceitfully taking money by coming for a service call and telling me something which I already knew. Even the invoice that was emailed to me had my first name spelled wrong and the tech said that he can't do anything so I should call back the number I called earlier, when I called that number, some guy picked up and he also told me that he will look into the issue and get back to me. It has been 24hrs and I haven't received any callback or email from them. I have therefore written this review so that other people who are looking to engage them will be cautious. Don't waste your money on this company. Look at other companies on Homestar with better reviews for the work that you need to get done.

    subzero fridge, ice maker not work

    I am very regret choosing this company. My ice maker didn't work after I changed the water filter. The service call cost me $90. The technician named Roman took 45 min. to diagnose the ice maker and water valves, then told me the ice maker was broken, need to be changed. The cost will be $434 for part and $195 for labour. I thought the price of part was little pricy. So I found a Factory Certified Parts Distributor from internet. Their price for the original part is $185. I trusted Roman beasuse he looks nice and he told me that he has doing this job for more than 10 years. So I planed to buy part myself and ask him to change for me. But the Parts Distributor told me part can't be refund, they suggest to make sure the ice maker broken. So I spent $192 call the factory certifed repair company to diagnose my ice maker. That technician took 15 min. found out the problem is new water filter doesn't match my fridge. Nothing but filter need to be change. Technician is not qualify, but this is not the only problem of this company. I call Expressrepair ask for the service call fee refund beacuse of the misdiagnose. I was asked to send the invioce of the other company's service. I sent to them and be told I will get refund after they look over the claim. After 3 days, nothing happened. I sent an email asked what is going on, no respond. After a week, I called and be told somebody will contact me the next day. 2 more days past, still nothing happened. I know the customer care person will write the routine respond like them treat customers seriously, and let me call them to get a satisfactory solution. Don't belive it. If they really want treat customers seriously, they will contact customers instead of been contacted. I am regret did not check the Homestars reviews before I call this company.

    Incompetence - inconvenience - overscharged

    They came out same day in a snow storm That’s good - maybe not as the service is so bad - and reviews so poor - that nobody wants them. I was told it was a part that was broken Turns out - a clogged drain pipe. I bought the part - waited over 2 weeks for it to arrive - paid shipping fees - tax Service fees On a bill that should have been no more than the service call at 77.00 or less. Service 101 1. Is power on/0ff 2. Is water on/off 3. Reset the circuit panel board - turn off main power switch. Fuse box - have reset codes from GE or all appliances you service available to the repair staff - have electronic copies available - 4. Check drain pipes and drains for blockages

    Dishonest about repair time and diagnosis

    Predatory practice. Long story short, my mother called this company to come check out our broken dryer. They arrived same day, diagnosed the unit as requiring a sensor and belt. This was only a week before Christmas and my mother asked how long it would take to complete repair, the tech reassured her repairs would be completed before Christmas day, but she had to pay $130 upfront. She was reluctant but didn't want to get stuck without a dryer during the holidays and paid him via machine. While making multiple calls and inquiries about the repair during the week leading up to Christmas day, she was given excuses over and over again, and told the part was delayed in delivery. Evidently, the dryer was never repaired before Christmas as promised. Fast forward to the next week. Despite, again, repeated attempts to get answers regarding when the repairs would be completed. We were dodged and basically ignored. They'd tell us the part should be arriving a certain day, it wouldn't, they wouldn't call to inform of delay. This happened repeatedly. A few of our emails were just straight up ignored. The best part of it all? When Express failed to complete the repair and we had given up on them (at this point after reading more into the company online we didn't even feel comfortable letting them into our house anymore), we brought our dryer to the place we purchased it. They had it fixed same day. And it only required a belt to repair, not an additional sensor as Express had claimed. In addition to all this, the company charges 3% of your total to use their machine. Three per cent of your bill, to use their debit machine. Mom and pop pizza shops don't even charge to use their machines and these guys charge 3% on large bills to use their machine and lump into "Tax" on their invoice. Stay away. Company is very predatory and will take your money and run.

    Dishwasher repair diagnosis

    We called express repair to look at our dishwasher that was not filling with water and washing properly. Technician diagnosed the problem as the water inlet valve. He wanted over $350 to repair it, so we chose to do the repair ourselves. Technician showed us on google what the part was and we purchased the part, brand new, from a reputable appliance parts company. We replaced the water inlet valve and the dishwasher still didn’t work. We did a google search and found that the problem was probably the sump and motor assembly, so we returned the water inlet valve and bought the sump and motor assembly. We installed it and the dishwasher works like new. I contacted Express to request a refund of the service charge, as the technician clearly misdiagnosed the problem. After numerous attempts to get someone to speak to me, and providing them with the receipts to prove I purchased the parts, I was told that the owner is refusing to refund the charge because I can’t prove that the part that I purchased wasn’t faulty and the that their technician may not have misdiagnosed the problem. Absolutely ridiculous. Customers and pride obviously mean nothing to this company. Turning your blatant mistake around on your customers! The technician was clearly wrong and the inconvenience we endured is unacceptable. Keep your $92.00. If this is how you treat your customers, you need it more than I do.

    re-install screws in burner switch (Kenmore stove)

    Company said technician would be here between 3 and 5. He arrived closer to 3. Was here a few minutes. Told him my stove was working just fine so no hassle about "diagnostics" / "stove needs repair" etc. Did what I asked = small repair (re-install screws in burner switch) I couldn't do myself. Total cost (with tax) = 91.00. By contrast, a different appliance repair company (not on Homestars) a year ago charged me $192 ... same problem, same burner. A second company (on Homestars) asked for pictures of what needed to be done! Express Repair is my go-to for stove repairs.

    Great work on our Bosch dishwasher and Samsung Fridge

    What we thought was going to be a major repair to our dishwasher .. ended up being a minor repair. Express also helped fix a broken handle on the fridge.

    Bad service

    I paid $684 to repair my Electrolux stove, three different technicians came with 3 different prices, and after being told this would fix the problem it didn’t, was told the supervisor Micelle would call but I never heard or received an email from anyone. I would recommend staying away from these guys

    Refrigerator

    Their technician came in to diagnose the problem, he spent 15 minutes in cleaning and defrosting the ice build up and said everything was fixed and it was all good. In a week's time the ice build up started again and now we are back to square one. Very much disappointed in this service, I spent $290 for nothing. Now I have to call somebody else and pay more to get my fridge repaired.

    Poor Service. Blomberg Washing machine repair.

    I rarely write reviews unless its exceptionally good or bad. Unfortunately this company falls under exceptionally bad category. First repair of Blomberg washing machine went well. However, it failed after 2 days. Was diagnosed again (for free, which was nice, but considering it failed after 2 days, this should have been standard service) and was told another part was needed. Called every other day to follow up on the status of part ordering. The parts order kept getting pushed back few days here and there. On top of that the wrong part was ordered and or part was no longer manufactured. Seems like no one has a clue working there or the reason why the machine is not working. Was told that a service manager would call to follow up and explain "right away". Have been waiting for over 4+ days now. Regardless of the final outcome, this has been an absolute horrible experience. Waste of money, please stay away. I should have paid attention to the 10 AND 1 star reviews. Absolutely reflective of service, no consistency. Wish you luck if you go with them!
