    A good experience with an excellent outcome

    After much research and speaking with two other companies, we chose Nordik to replace our front door. The salesperson was respectful and honest about a delivery date, the measurer and installer were both very professional and came when they said they would. There was a bit of a glitch with the electronic lock but again it was handled promptly and effectively. We love the look and feel of our new front door!

    Doors and WIndows- TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

    I signed up with this company because they came across as reputable. After my experience, I felt it necessary to at least share the experience for others to make their own decision. My order consisted of 4 windows, a patio door, a side door and a front door. The installation was divided into 2 days due to covid and availability of product - TOTALLY acceptable. Install #1 - Windows and Patio Door The installers came on time and set up. The one installer asked if he could have access to plug outside, so I opened the garage and showed him the location and went inside to work. A few hours passed and I came up to check out the work being done and to my surprise, their mitre saw was setup in my garage. Saw dust was everywhere, in my kids winter clothes, all over my bikes, EVERYWHERE!! Their response - here's a $200 bill credit to get it all cleaned up. 1.5 months later, I am still cleaning it up. In addition, they were doing the install of the windows INSIDE the house with no masks. So the $200 bill credit was also the cost or 'pay off' of possibly infecting my kids of Covid. Install #2 - side and front door Installers showed up on time and less than courteous. Issue#1 - wrong side door brought to the house, the inside was to be white but the whole door was painted with the exterior color. Resolution - they will be replacing the door with the correct color but I have to wait several months again. They also offered me $100 off to paint it myself. Issue#2 they didn't bring the exterior brick mold in the right color. They offered to just use what they brought and again, for me to paint it myself. Resolution: the installers said they would come back next day, it's now 20 days later. As well, there are live (albeit low voltage) wires hanging out in plain site. Completely dangerous hazard. Issue#3 - the side door doesn't seem to be properly sealed as cold air is leaking through causing an increase in my heating bill. On top of all this, I have their finance department continuously calling me for payment. The sales guy said, "Pay us all but $1000 and 'trust' me that we will get this done" - to which I laughed in his face. I have spoken with their head office contact center and Sales guy SEVERAL times and they continue to brush me under the rug. They have had the materials in their warehouse but are reluctant to come and finish the job. Instead they offered me a timeslot 3 weeks into the future and demanded I take the appointment otherwise it would be pushed into the future despite their installer AND sales guy assuring me it would be done sooner. My job wasn't complex, but the lack of attention to detail, lack of professionalism and resting on their 25 year warranty (which I do not trust at all) is why I suggest searching elsewhere!

    Windows and Front Door Install

    STAY AWAY FROM NORDIK!! Six windows and front door ordered in April 2021. Windows installed (3 in basement) July 2021, 4th window in basement installed September 2021. All four were ordered and should have been installed at the same time but the 4th window wasnt ready on time due to whatever excuse Nordik dreamed up. When Nordik did install the 4th window in the basement one of the screens was torn but nobody bothered to tell me until Nordik phoned me to advise someone was coming to install a new screen! The4 window job was finally completed in September 2021--6 months later. Next came the door installation..more incompetence from Nordik. The frame was covered in vinyl the same colour as the door--I wanted my door frame the same colour as the rest of the frame had been NOT the colour of the door but when I asked CHRIS (salesman) his reply was (that is the way Nordik does it...in other words it is not what the customer wants but the cheap way. After the door was installed I noticed a draft at the entire base of the door so once again I called Nordik. the sent someone out to service the problem--he put a bead of caulk at the base of the frame which did NOT work--draft still there. Today they sent install manager who claims weatherstripping has to be moved down to cover space where air is getting in and claims NO DAMAGE will result from such a repair. I believe paint (exterior and interior) will be damaged but install manager claims door will be replaced if paint is damaged!! I do not believe this for one minute as Nordik could care less about customer satisfaction. They are sending another person from service to look at the door draft but I have zero confidence that this will be fixed. I changed 6 windows and a door with Nordik due to drafts and now the new door is drafty (the previous door was NOT drafty) . Once Nordik gets the money they could care less about customers. Their guarantee isnt worth the paper it is written on. They bought out at least two decent companies in hopes of getting a monopoly in this business, no doubt. I regret giving them my business and will not recommend them to anyone.

    Front door

    If you deal with this company, you do so at your peril. It has taken more than 2 years to finally get this door installed properly. Should you decide to deal with them, ask for Tommy. He appears to be very knowledgeable.

    PLEASE READ ....HORRIBLE

    I had a front door and front window replaced. I had many issues with the front window, and they said they would send someone out. Since than they have sent out some 3 times to do the inspection, the 2nd and 3rd time being the same person. After the first person I had to repeatedly call and leave voice mails, send emails and even letters until I finally got a response. Then they said they would send someone out who is a manager, when he arrived he brought laptops and took measurements and reassured that it would be taken care of and fixed. Weeks went by and no contact so I reached out again and they didn't know what was going on so they sent the same guy out again, this time he came with just a tape measure and said the window would have to be replaced. After MONTHS of being jerked around I was frustrated especially because this window was from my daughter's nursery, so we got into a little argument and the man proceeded to WALK AWAY. Who walks away from a custom during a service call? As he walked away I asked when the window would be in he said I know know I have to order it and proceeded to walk to his car. The window is not... - level - squared - 2 window doors are uneven - exterior caulking is botched - interior trim is horrible with nail holes everywhere - parts of the drywall are ripped - handel to open doors keeps popping off.... There were also some minor things on the front door that need to be fixed. So if your looking for a new door or window please don't make the same mistake I did and go the cheap route, spend a little bit more and get the professionals in there and get quality installed.

    Front Exterior Door

    Nordik did an amazing job replacing an old wood door with a new steel one. They were able to keep the existing solid wood frame casing. The new door is gorgeous. The installers were meticulous!

    Door Installation

    Worst Sale Person in Barrie never update on installation, never done on time delay by 3 months, I have contact Headoffice directly and get my installation done, Workman ship is great guys did good job on installation. Girls in Headoffice great to deal with I wish if she was my sale person.

    door installation

    Extremely disappointed with the service from Nordik: - product delivery was delayed by several weeks - installation plagued by several issues (installers forgot hardware ordered, did not finish the door interior properly, etc.) - had to put in several requests for followup service, all of which took several weeks to action. - Our door was ordered in April 2021. Installation will not be complete until January 2022. Absolutely terrible service, and frustrating experience.

    Costs raised 15 weeks after PAID IN FULL

    Quoted $6000 for 2 patio doors back in early Aug 2021, Paid in full hoping to move things along. Only to wait 15 weeks to find they wanted to increase the bill to $8000 (35% increase) because they claim once they sent a tradesman out to re-measure ( final measurements) a month after initial measurements were taken, the doors need to be custom ( which was discussed during initial measurements when the estimate was drawn up and paid for), to be told this only weeks prior to there install timeline spelled out on the contract after they new there may be an issue for 3 months. Their initial quote not being the lowest was agreed upon due to reviews and company reputation, their new estimate far exceeds all other quotes and would never have been agreed upon. I have submitted a response to them asking for full refund if they can not complete the project on the agreed upon price as this is a poor business practice - Very Disappointing UPDATE - Attempt is being been made to make original quoted doors work for the install at no additional cost, and am now waiting to hear when doors will be ready to be installed. Currently already over original estimated timeline due to material shortages

    R8 windows

    I replaced 100 old large wooden bow windows with storm windows, 3 pane dining room window and a large boxed window. I hoped for a less drafty home. But my new R8 windows are not at all what I hoped for. They have allowed me to open my windows which I enjoyed in the summer but my heating costs are just as high and a bit higher.
