Over the years I have had the pleasure of having Peter do repairs for my refrigerator, my washer and my son's washer. He always gives prompt professional service and above all, he is a great diagnostician. Most recently he was able to give telephone advice which solved the problem, saving me $$$$$$! Peter is the one to call.

The bake element on my GE oven fizzled last week. I called a few of the highly rated companies on Homestars for a quote to replace it. It's not a high end appliance and I am planning to renovate my kitchen shortly so I didn't want to spend a lot of money repairing it. Peter returned my call promptly even though it was a Saturday. He then convinced me it was an easy fix I could do myself if I was prepared to source the part in Toronto. He kindly proceeded to give me all the information I needed so I gave it a try. And with a few minor setbacks (as I'm no professional at this) succeeded! How astonishingly generous of him. It's rare to find such honesty and helpfulness. Modern Appliance will be the first company I call the next time I need appliance repair. Thanks so much Peter.

Our GE washing machine wouldn't drain. Called Peter and described the problem and we arranged a time. He called a day before to say he had sourced a pump to bring if that was the problem, but it was more expensive than he expected. I appreciated the heads up and said he should come anyway. He showed up on time, removed his shoes and came up to the 2nd floor where the washer was located. We hadn't discussed it being in a closet and with the dryer stacked on top, so initially we weren't sure if he could fix it without some more equipment. He started working with what he could access, used wet vac and tools to suction out some of the stopped up materials and was able to get it cleared. He took the time to run several different cycles, had me bring up some vinegar to put in one cycle and made sure that the work he had done fixed the problem. Very nice guy, knowledgeable and was able to fix our washer problem. He's been in the business for a long time, with his own company for a number of years and he seems very trust-worthy and competent. I took his cards and will definitely refer him to friends and use him again.

Peter is a true professional and we are very satisfied with his work. He was punctual and thorough and it is evident that he takes pride in his work. He was tidy and left no mess at all. I will definitely recommend him and will not hesitate to contact him should we require his services in the future.

Peter understood and diagnosed my fridge over the phone. He setup the initial confirming diagnosis appointment and follow up appointment to install parts ordered. He was experienced, honest and prompt. He solved the problem so many other technicians from Homestars couldn't.

7 yr old washer died unexpectedly 2 wks ago. Narrowed down potential repairmen to a couple from Homestar reviews. Choose Modern Appliance as they (Peter) were the only one to respond in a timely manner. Appt was scheduled and part ordered. Thru no fault of Modern Appliance, the part was delayed due to their parts supplier. As time passed and the situation of no functioning washer became more desperate, I was able to source and install the potential defective part myself and cancelled my appt with short notice. Throughout, Peter ,not only, always answered returned my calls quickly, but provided suggestions and alternate courses of action. Ultimately the initial probable defective part was not the cause of failure and I did require Peter to come in to diagnose definitively the root cause of the issue. He was not only able to do this quickly but luckily also had the spare part in hand. The cost was lower than expected and I could not be happier. I would recommend Peter without hesitation. I only wish other companies could learn the concept of managing customer expectations thru effective communication, especially in time sensitive situations. Two big thumbs up to Peter and Modern Appliances.

I had Peter replace the heating element in my dryer as well as a door kit on my dishwasher. He was extremely organized, got back to me promptly, ordered the appropriate parts in advance, and made a convenient appointment. When the parts didn't arrive on time, he actually called to let me know and rescheduled for later that week. Sounds obvious, but very few people offer this minimal level of service these days. He made the repairs quickly and efficiently and was on his way. Very good service!

Peter came to my condo and assessed the issue after others had told me the built in fridge( vintage 1999) probably had to be replaced... I chose him because he does NOT have a throw away mentality. He determined it was only a Switch ...got the fridge going but we had to get the part because it was cutting out . The job took less than an hour and the fridge works perfectly.
