    Dryer Repair

    Peter once again provided excellent service. Last year he was able to acquire a part for my 15 year old refrigerator and bring it back to life. This time he offered prompt service repairing the blown heating element on my dryer. I contacted him Monday with my problem. He got back to me with a quote for the parts and labour, notified me when the part arrived, scheduled the service call and was here today (Thursday) repairing the dryer and completing a thorough check on the appliance. Excellent service Peter.

    Dishwasher install

    Peter removed and old and installed new dishwasher. Did everything he said he would and also answered questions and gave us advice. Great person to work with - would use him again for sure.

    Property Install Washer/Dryer

    I one hundred percent recommend Peter. He is detail-oriented, knowledgeable, honest and professional. I recently got a new washer and dryer installed and then learned I had to have a water cut off valve replaced in my unit. The plumbers who came by to fix it had to take the machine out and, well, they failed to re-install it properly. Imagine my frustration. Thank goodness for Peter!! He came to the rescue! I emailed Peter and within hours he let me know he could drop by the next day. He gave me an accurate quote for the job and really, truly went above and beyond in terms of his work. He fixed the stacking unit, moved the machine to give me more access to the shut off valve, levelled the machine, reinstalled the drain tube (correctly this time), and tested the machine - something the plumber never did. All I have to say is THANK GOODNESS for Peter. He truly saved the day and my machine/unit!!! Thank you!!

    dishwasher fix

    Peter fixed the dishwasher not draining properly. He didn't try and tell us of other problems with the unit and didn't try and sell us unnecessary parts. This is second time we have them do work for us.

    Fridge Repair

    In summary my experience was very positive and consistent with most stories I read here. Firstly, Peter responded promptly to my online enquiry despite the fact it was on a Sunday. He showed up the next day and instantly knew what the issue was. He ordered the parts and replaced them a couple of days later but unfortunately one of the replacement parts was also defective, which we only found out about it a few days later. Peter reordered the parts and returned as soon as the new parts arrived and this time the issue was fixed. I found Modern Appliance to be a reliable company and Peter to be a friendly, responsive and knowledgeable professional. I would certainly use their services again in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

    Dishwasher and Oven Repair

    Peter was extremely helpful , returning several times with additional parts. While waiting for a new pump for my dishwasher, my oven element died. I was able to contact Peter on the weekend, and he brought the new oven part along with the dishwasher pump and installed them both at the same time. We really appreciate his availability, helpfulness, and expertise. We'd definitely recommend him!

    Dishwasher

    This was our 2nd time using Modern Appliance and with great service the first time we used them again. We had a leak with our dishwasher, my husband called Modern Appliance, and explained to Peter exactly what was happening and Peter told us right over the phone what the problem was; it needed a part. Peter ordered our part, and within 2 days it had arrived and Peter was at our house the next day to replace the part. Very quick service. He gave us an hour window, and he even called 20 minutes before hand to let us know he is on his way (just in case we have an errand to run) - that was great. We find Modern Appliance to be professional and trust worthy - they didn't try to up sell us on other part. We would use them again.

    Stove Repair

    Electronic Board that operates Oven burned out and had to be replaced Peter was very professional and knowledgeable and completed the job in no time. He answered all pertinent questions and was very honest.

    Washing Machine

    Repaired my older, much-loved, washing machine, and showed me how to fix it if the problem re-occurs! Did not charge for labour tho he spent at least an hour taking apart my washer, figuring out why it wasn't working, getting it put back together, testing it to make sure it works - Everything! Did NOT try to sell me something I didn't need (or want).. Peter was great - personable and efficient. I highly recommend Modern Appliance! (in fact I recommended the company to friend this afternoon!)

    Bosch Dishwasher

    Peter came to repair the door handle, which had broken off. (Boo Bosch - poor quality parts!). Unfortunately, the part that needed replacement was attached to the inside part of the control panel, so it was a rather pricey part. In any case, that's not Modern Appliance's fault. Peter came on time, and replaced the part, which was a rather fiddly operation, I could see. After he left, I noticed that the detergent dispenser had stopped working ... the little door wasn't opening to release the detergent during the wash cycle. I figured that with all of the unplugging of wires and connectors that had to be done as part of the last repair, something was loose. I contacted Peter, and he arranged to come out a few days later. Sure enough, one of the fiddly connectors didn't connect as well as it should have (again, I chalk this up to the design of the part itself, rather than Peter's fault). He managed to get things working again, and he didn't charge me for the service call. (Which seemed reasonable, since the problem had been introduced during the earlier repair). Other services might have tried to charge me, or would have been grudging about doing the work for free; Peter was quite happy to fix this problem, and apologised for the inconvenience the problem had caused, and went on his way. So, hats off to MA for their great customer service.
