    Freezer Service

    I was really happy with the service I received from Modern Appliance. The freezer on my fridge was acting up, fluctuating in temperature and making my food unsafe to eat. I called a few companies, and most said I would need to replace the electronic board (not a technician so I'm sure that's not the right name!) and to arrange for a service call. Only Peter suggested to try and clean the condenser coils first - advice that didn't cost me anything. I cleaned the coils and the freezer didn't respond right away, so I asked Peter come and take a look anyway. He did and really couldn't find anything wrong, so gave me something to try and said he would come back. He didn't ask me to pay for the call right away, and said he would charge me when he came back. Turns out my freezer just took a while to re-adjust and has been working perfectly ever since, so all I paid was for one service call. It is so great to find a sincere, honest and helpful person like Peter. I would definitely use Modern Appliance again.

    Kenmore Stove

    When my mom's stove stopped working I called Peter from Modern Appliance. My experience dealing with him was great! He responded quickly, came prepared with the part needed and completed the repair professionally. He is efficient and pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended. Thanks for the great service Peter!!

    Jenn-Air Oven

    Broiler and thermostat broke on our oven. Reached out to Modern Appliances based on these reviews and were very happy we did. Peter was very straight forward about the costs of parts and estimated time to repair. Our oven is on the higher end of the Jenn-air lineup and so parts itself were around $700. Great customer service and work! Thanks Peter!

    Honest Dude in a sad ripoff industry

    After an expensive non-repair from Appliance Repair Guys that did not fix the problem and made matters worse than before they came, we called Modern because we saw these positive reviews. Good call. Peter was great: he diagnosed the problem over the phone and within 15 minutes we fixed it ourselves. Peter deserves ALL of your appliance repair business.

    dryer

    I work in the building industry but when my dryer broke down, I was desperate to get it fixed properly. I called a few rating "10" people from homestar with no luck; one actually came and decided it was too much work and left, even when I offered more money. I had doubts about what that guy said and did some research online and it ended up not really a big deal at all. Having absolutely no experience in appliance repair and completely hogged at work, I was willing to pay ridicules money to have it done. Just when I was about to give up, I came across Peter of Modern Appliance. Peter was very thorough when I talked to him on the phone and gave me very honest breakdown of how much it could cost (material/labour).He also suggested that because it didn't seem that it could be so complicated, I could do it myself and he was willing to guide me through it with no charge! He was so patient and genuine that I trusted him completely. At the end, I did exactly what he suggested (he even gave details like what the part number would be for ordering and youtube instructions) I ended up fixing the dryer with minimal cost and I learned a whole lot about appliances. I appreciate Peter being genuinely someone that is trying to help, and not just a person wanting to make as much profit out of it as possible. I always thought good repairmen in modern times are a dying breed. I have to say I'm so lucky to have found one. I'll 100% recommend Peter and modern appliance!

    Dryer repair

    Peter responded to my voicemail within the hour and he made an appointment for the next day. He showed up within the scheduled time. He is very professional and knows his stuff. He properly diagnosed the problem and had the parts with him to repair the dryer. He also fixed our ice maker. It was a quick fix without any additional costs. I would highly recommend Modern Appliance

    stove & dryer repair & washer install

    My washer & dryer died on me, and my stove was on the fritz. I was referred to homestars by a friend. I found Modern Appliance, read the reviews and decided to give them a call. Peter responded with haste. He was very thorough over the phone asking for make and model numbers and the problems with the appliances. I'm guessing so he could come prepared with all the proper parts for the repair so he wouldn't be putting me out in having to wait longer for the repair. He gave me all possible scenarios and quotes to accompany them. When he showed, he was on time, efficient and did a great job. All of my appliances are now up and running and nothing had to be replaced (except my washer which I knew was on it's last leg anyway). Peter is now my go to guy for all of my appliances and my friends as well. Great guy, great service! Keep up the great work Peter!

    Fridge Repair

    Peter is an honest and diligent guy. He could have charged me for a new defroster sensor but instead noticed on inspection that there was just a loose wire. He fixed it so it wouldn't happen again and charged me the minimum. I will definitely call him if I ever need another appliance repaired.

    Dryer

    Peter is great. From the very first point of contact, I received very prompt and friendly responses. He definitely knew what he was talking about. He was up front about all the costs (parts + labour). He was even able to order the parts beforehand without having to return for a second visit. It was all fixed during the first time (just what I wanted!) After the visit, he followed up immediately with what he found and the reasons for breakdown. It sounded like he went to investigate possible problems with my condo building. He informed me on what my tenant could do to maintain the unit and to avoid future problems. Thanks again Peter!

    fridge stopped working

    Our fridge stopped working.Peter had our fridge up and running very fast. It seems to be working even better than before. Our fridge had made klinking or knocking sounds since we first got it. GE said that was normal. Well it isn't. Now it is running smoothly and quietly!
