I am planning to finish my basement and I have decided to use a polyurethane injection to fill a non-structural foundation crack even though it did not leak. I have requested several quotes and Dave offered a competitive price. More importantly, he is very knowledgeable and offered advice in other matters as well. He did a great job and was professional throughout. I would hire Dave again and I would recommend him warmly to anyone needing help with foundation repairs.

We hired Dave Marcotte to waterproof our foundation. He was suggested to us by neighbours who had some work done by him and we are really glad that we called him. Dave is a very knowledgable, pleasant, experienced and professional person. He sat down with us to explore all of our options and helped us to decide the most appropriate way to proceed. He and his crew were respectful, careful and hardworking and they finished the job in a timely manner. We were so impressed with his professionalism and work ethic that we would hire him again in a second.

I can only say very good thing about Dave. When I phoned him, he got back to me very quickly and scheduled the work right away. He showed up on time and did the work in a professional manner. I saw Dave's work elsewhere in our neighborhood before asking him for a quote. Dave works on the job himself (he's a master with the digger.) He left the site clean every day. His crew was polite and professional. And Dave went the extra mile to make sure everything was put back together - parging, garden beds, etc. Job was on time and on budget. Could not ask for more!

If we needed this work done again, we’d hire your company without hesitation. We had done our homework in verifying sources to complete our foundation repairs. Most companies we called never even called back. We had one guy come over to look and then he never gave us an estimate. Every time we called, he’d say, oh, just a couple of days. We were most fortunate that your company was by far the best in professionalism, as well as responding to our needs and meeting the dates we had set. I did a bit of checking and I called people for references. Your company checked out and our meetings confirmed our decision so, we decided to go ahead. You booked us in, were here when you said you would be here, and were done within a week. The work was efficiently and expertly done. Your company also does stuff that other companies don’t do, such as using fresh stone to fill the excavation and topping that off with soil (actually great for gardening!). Other companies just dump the old fill back in. They also put insulation around the bottom of our walls, they took care of having our air conditioner professionally disconnected and re-connected when the job was finished. They disassembled a portion of our professionally landscaped retaining wall and put it back exactly as it was. Dave even went to our immediate neighbour to advise what he was doing and let him know any mess would be cleaned to his satisfaction. That is service. Dave's name was given to me by a business acquaintance when my wife and I were looking to have a long outstanding foundation leak fixed in our basement. I received three quotes to undertake the work and Dave was certainly competitive with the others. However, he was by far the most knowledgeable in describing the problem and what it would take to fix it. He gave us a start date and finish date to complete the work and he met both dates as well as completing the work as per his original quote. The horror stories surrounding basement repair work is all too common and we have witnessed it in our own neighborhood. Dave and his team stand out amongst their competition and I would have no hesitation in recommending their services to anyone who needs to have foundation work done. Even our neighbors commented on how clean they kept the job site and how quickly they worked.

We called in a number of foundation specialists to assess our leaky, damp basement. The estimates were all over the place - and so were the suggested project scopes. Dave's price was right in the middle, but his work actually went above and beyond. He and his crew arrived when they said they would (unexpected, considering all the horror stories you hear), and worked every day until the job was done. Dave said it would take three weeks - it took three weeks. He made excellent recommendations (we installed a new water pipe and a frost-free outside tap), and when we decided to expand the project to include new front steps, he connected us with a very good masonry expert (Dalmatian Touch). Now that the basement's waterproofed and dry we look forward to finishing the space. Really good work here.

I contact a few companies to get estimates of the foundation repair. Dave Marcotte provided me with information on what needed to be done, timing and cost of the project. The other companies did the same, but, were excessive in terms of the work that they recommended as well as the price. If you want someone who is honest, hardworking and gives you value for the job that they are doing, Dave Marcotte is the best person for the job.

Dealing with contractors can often be frustrating, but Dave Marcotte makes the entire process a pleasant one. He showed up when he said he would, his price beat out all the competitors, he clearly explained what the issue was & how he was going to correct it, & his price was what he promised it would be without any last minute surprises. If you're looking for someone professional, & one who won't take you for a ride, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Dave today.

I had a musty damp smelling basement for 14 years since I bought my house. It rendered the basement space relatively useless. I also suffered a few sewer backups due to roots interfering with my pipes. I was considering possible adding an extension on my house and called Dave Marcotte as a result of a reference through colleagues at my school board. Discussing options with Dave we decided to make the unused spaces in my house useable and eliminating the need to add on. We ended up excavating the foundation and installing a waterproof membrane around the outside. He replaced the weeping tile, installed a sump pump and dug up the old sewer pipes and replaced them. I worked on stripping, framing and dry walling the interior of the basement. We then redesigned the second floor making a large bedroom suite with a new bathroom and walk in closet instead of a small bedroom and a second room used for storage. I love my house now and feel good that I am using all the space well. I really appreciated working with Dave for a number of reasons. He was a really good communicator. He uses email and phone effectively. Although he is always busy he made me feel my questions and concerns were important to him. I did some of the work myself and Dave was very flexible in coordinating workers to do what I couldn’t. He was also very helpful in advising me on how best to do the work I was doing myself. I agreed to do the landscaping after the job was complete. It seemed overwhelming at first so Dave agreed to come back with his machines to reshape the ground according to my new design. Dave gave good competitive quotes and stuck to them. I had not had experience hiring contractors before and I found him very easy to talk to. Anything that did go wrong, Dave took responsibility for and fixed it without being asked. He was receptive to ideas and had good ones of his own. I also thought all the subcontractors he used were very professional and I liked the way they worked with young people learning the trade. I would positively recommend Dave Marcotte and would hire him again if I needed work done. *Cost above is for foundation work and does not include the remodeling upstairs.
