Hey Sean, thanks again for taking the time to write us an excellent review! Installing the higher end stoves can be quite the task at times. They are very specific for the gas line supply and requirements. In the end I am glad everything worked out for you guys and your range is up and running. Enjoy it and hope you get great use out of it! George

    Gas line installation

GasGuys rating on Homestars matched the service we received. Installed new line for our gas range that was also branched off for a future gas dryer and BBQ. All work was completed in a timely manner; but definately not rushed. Lines were tucked neatly out of the way, pressure tested, checked and tagged. Glad we used GasGuys, will call them back when additional appliances are added and would not hesitate to recommend.

Hey Henry, thanks for taking the time to write us an excellent review. Code mandates we pressure test anything over 15 ft of new line installs, I always pressure test just to be safe. It takes only 15 minutes and we can make use of that time to start packing away our tools. Thanks again for the review and let me know when you are ready to proceed with your next project. George

    Hook up gas stove

Great job on meeting a tight timeline, as I only had a 3 hour window on one particular day and I only called a few days in advance. George also made sure the stove was level and made sure that I knew the basics.

Hey Katy, thank you for taking the time to write us an excellent review. I try to educate all of my customers so that they are left with at least a starting point on their new appliances. Thanks again for your business! George

    Dual fuel range installation

George was able to arrange to install our new dual fuel range on very short notice, which we really appreciated. He was very professional, called ahead to confirm the exact time, did a great job and gave some pointers on the new range. He was very courteous and certainly knows how to run a business, which was very refreshing. We would highly recommend him.

    BBQ gas line install, exterior

I wanted a gas hookup for my BBQ in Sept 2012. George came promptly, at a convenient time. After inspecting the house, he gave us two options: fishing over a bathroom and using a mix of CSST and black pipe pipe (required to go through the two concrete walls) to get the BBQ hookup through the house, or alternately, go 100% external to the house starting at the outside gas meter, around the wall (and up high, due to the driveway), to the BBQ. A rough estimate had both runs at about the same price, so we took the 100% exterior option (George conveniently mentioned that, since we're non-commercial, we are allowed to paint the yellow CSST line if we want it to match the red brick). He lined-up the line with the existing electrical so it looked fairly tidy. We went with a 1/2" connection. We also had an old shutoff valve for our gas dryer. Being paranoid, I prefered a new valve that could be operated without special tools. George installed a new valve here without charge, which was appreciated. Subsequent to George's work, we had new eaves installed by another company. Unfortunately, they punctured the CSST line. My wife called Enbridge to shut-off the gas (the puncture was before the shut-off valve, unfortunately). Aside from the obvious red tag for the puncture, they did tag George's work for two minor items: 1) Missing take to indicate that the connection to the CSST was leak-tested (it was leak-tested: I was talking w/ George while he did it; probably why the tag was forgotten...). 2) The CSST was not properly grounded. The contractor hired by the eaves company also did not properly ground the CSST, so I imagine this is common. The purpose of grounding the CSST is to reduce the risk of arcing and punctures in the case of a lighting event. In the case of external CSST, it's not 100% clear to me that grounding necessarily makes it safer (since the grounded CSST is now more attractive to electrical charge; besides, it's pretty well grounded just by connecting to the metal exterior gas meter). Grounding wouldn't be too hard if I wanted to do it, since the water intake (inside the house, of course) is in the same corner of the house and easy to access; I haven't bothered to do this, since I regard it as a pretty minor issue. Overall, quite happy with the installation. George was friendly and helpful. In terms of the cost, we did not check multiple quotes, so I can't comment. My sense is that it's probably par for a ~68ft of CSST installed ~12' up.

Hey Tim, thank you for taking the time to write us a very thorough and honest review. I really appreciate your feedback and, moving forward, I will add this to my completed job checklist to ensure that it does not get missed. I always perform pressure tests on all my installed gas lines whether it is 2 ft. or 100 ft. Safety is my number one concern which is why I apologize for missing the grounding wire on your line. If the issue has not been rectified, please contact me via email or phone and I will return to the grounding line at no additional cost to you. I stand behind my work and take pride in ensuring that all my customers are 100% satisfied. Thanks again, George

    Cooktop installation

On short notice, George came in to install a gas cooktop. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the cooktop, but he pointed me in the right direction to sort things out and then made a second trip to complete the installation. George also pointed out some problems I was going to have with the installation of a double wall oven, helped remove the old oven and gave me solid advice for resolving my problems. Service above and beyond the call, as they say. Prompt, completely professional and very personable. I would say that you can't go wrong with GasGuys.ca

    Answer from pro:

Hey Jeffrey and thank you for taking the time to write us an excellent review. You had quite the unique situation with the double wall oven and the cook-top. I am glad we were able to at least sort the cook top out for you and get you up and running. Hope everything else works out and you know how to reach us in the future. Thanks again, George

Gas stove line installation and hook up

The Gas Guys where super to work with from start to finish. Excellent communication and fantastic service. I'd received a competitive quote and that's the price I'd paid. When I'd had to reschedule due to the delivery of my stove being delayed they were able to accommodate me no problem. They were punctual, clean and very helpful in every way. I would wish more service companies could follow their professionalism. Thanks!

    Answer from pro:

Hey Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to write us an excellent review. We understand that there are delays on deliveries and we will have to shuffle our schedules a little to accommodate. In the end everything worked out and were able to get your gas line installed in a timely manner and hopefully you are a pro at using the new range by now. We always take pride in our work and from the organization and tidiness of your home, i see you do too. It is a huge compliment for you to point out our job was nice and clean. Thanks again, George

    Interior Gas Leak

We contacted George after seeing all of his great reviews. During my initial phone call with George, I found he was very polite, knowledgeable, and showed great customer service. Due to the nature of our issue, he was able to schedule us in quickly and showed up with his partner promptly on time. He demonstrated skill in troubleshooting our issue (pressure test on whole system) and took the time to explain each step along the way. Also gave me progress reports along the way. We didn't know how much ceiling drywall we’d have to cut to get at the pipes and George was able to pinpoint where the issue was resulting in minimal holes in our ceiling. He also found a few other issues that he was able to fix. I’ve dealt with many contractors in the past, and George was one of the best to deal with. He completed everything to spec, and kept to the budget originally agreed upon. These gentlemen take pride in their work - keep up the good work, guys!

    Answer from pro:

Hey Robert and thank you for the excellent review. Working on a gas leak is never a fun job. There are many steps involved for preparing for the pressure test and finding the leaks. With our extended experience, typically we can identify "common leak locations" Based on these, we start opening up the ceiling and working our way through the gas line one fitting at a time. We were quite fortunate at your home that the holes were kept to a minimum and everything worked out. Thanks again and I am glad everything worked out! George

    Fixed gas leak

One word to describe George - outstanding! Our gas stove was leaking and George managed to squeeze us in at the last minute before the weekend to fix it. He identified the leak (based on the faulty installation from our contractor) and fixed it without a problem. We've had no issues since. In addition, as a courtesy, he looked at our gas fireplace. The following day, our water heater was not working and he stopped by while he was crossing the city. George is highly knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and respectful. I highly recommend GasGuys.ca and would definitely use them again.

    Answer from pro:

Hey Nikki, thank you for the compliment! I stand behind my work and wherever possible assist with other gas related inquiries. If there is an issue after I have left the home, I will stop by to ensure it has not been caused by any work I have done. As we did not have to shut off your main gas line to repair the leak, this was quite the co-incidence with your water tank. Hope everything worked out for you guys, congrats on the beautiful home and thanks again! George

    Gas Range Installation

Excellent service from start to finish. George responded quickly to emails and stayed in touch when a previous job ran a little late. I would definitely hire him again and have no hesitation in recommending his services.

    Answer from pro:

Hey M, thanks for the excellent review! Sometimes jobs do not go as planned and gas lines is something I do not like to rush working on. It was great that you are understanding of this and Accommodated my delay! Thanks again! George
