    Gas Range Hook Up

I contacted George by email on the delivery day of my new gas range to inquire about the range hook up. He replied to my emails promptly. He was able to squeeze me in to his busy schedule and arranged for an late evening appointment. George arrived at my home on time and hooked up the new gas range with a new flex hose. He was very thorough and checked everything professionally. My wife and myself were very happy with the service and really appreciated his flexibility in appointment scheduling; we had the range up and running at the same day of delivery. We are very satisfied with GasGuys.ca service and it's highly recommended.

    Answer from pro:

Hey Michael, I am glad the timing worked out great. I know how it can be a hassle to go a couple days without your range so I try my best to work as flexible hours as possible. Hope you are enjoying your new range! George

    New range connect

George was quick with a response to my email asking for a cost estimate and his availability to do the work once the range had been delivered. On the day, George let me know when he'd be there and he was promptly on time. I had a feeling he would have to update some of the old connection which he did while he explained his work every step of the way. Once the gas line work was done, he then leveled the range and explained some of its features. A thorough job, expert work and reasonably priced. All done in about 45 minutes. At one point, while laying on the floor adjusting the range feet, our dog decided to stand on his back to investigate the work. George laughed it off as an unexpected back massage! I have some other gas line work to be done and I will be calling George when the time comes.

    Answer from pro:

Hey James, thanks for taking the time to write GasGuys.ca a great review! Looking forward to touching base when you are ready for the next project! I am glad everything went well and that you didn't invoice me for the back massage! Merry Christmas to you and your family and may 2014 be filled with health, love and happiness! George

    Gas Leak fix

Had to shut my heat off in freezing temperatures after multiple gas leaks were discovered in my home. Made the call to gas guys and they came quickly to fix the problems. My old gas line was a real mess, but George did an amazing job to streamline everything, setting me up nicely for when I finally finish my basement.

    Answer from pro:

Hey Joe, thank you for taking the time to write us an excellent review! I am glad we were able to get things going for you with a fast turnaround time. It can be really difficult to manage in a home with no heat or hot water, especially with a little one in the house. It was also a great chance to tidy things up some redundant gas lines. Thanks again and have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2014! George

Installing gas line for gas range

After reading a lot of great reviews online, we decided to contact George (GasGuys.ca) about installing a new gas line. We were not too sure of make /model, so I emailed George and to my surprise, George promptly responded explaining differences in the models we were considering. We ended up getting a GE Gas Range and George was able to squeeze us in the afternoon it arrive. George was very pleasant and professional. Explained all of our options (as we were also looking to also put in a gas bbq line). Work was very well done, clean and after everything was completed, George walked me through the installation explain certain points like were the shut off value and tags were located. He also ran over how to use our new gas range. I would highly recommend the GasGuys.ca!

    Answer from pro:

Hey ZH thanks for the great review! I always start up all the appliances I install to make sure that they are in safe working order before I hand it off to my customers. It is equally important to make my customers aware of where the shut off valve is for the gas range should the appliance need to be serviced. Thanks again, George

Run gas line for range Installation

My wife and I are very picky when it comes to hiring contractors, but since natural gas is something that we cannot DIY, we have to hire the best guy in town to do the work. George (the owner of GasGuys.ca) has been very good in responding to my emails and the quote and appointment were done without any phone calls. The bonus part was that George even works in the evening that he can accommodate people like us who have a day time job, so we don't have to take a day off. As promised, George and his Dad team arrived at our house on time, even 5 minutes earlier and they were extremely friendly and professional. Contractors being on time is one of the criteria we look for, regardless of their quality work. Now, let's move to the actual work. If you look at how George made the hole from kitchen to basement, you can tell he is a very detail oriented person. First, he used a small drill bit to make a pilot hole to make sure that's the right position and then enlarged it for the pipe to go through. I have seen inexperienced Rogers cable guy drilled through my neighbors wall to run a cable and then hit the gas meter and the whole street was evacuated. As you can see in one of the photos, he trimmed the baseboard by using oscillating saw, so he could run the pipe as close to the wall. This way, the range can be parked with minimum gap, this is the details that you have to pay attention when you compare to other installers. In the basement, he tapped into the existing incoming gas line and installed the yellow color flex hose as well as the shut off valve. George even gave me the latest gas installation code info on the shut off valve (it used to be installed behind the range, the latest code changed to the basement, simply because in case of fire, you don't really have time to reach the valve behind the range). I also asked him to put a T-connector rough-in for future fire pit. Everything was done in very high quality work. Then, he did the bubble test on leaking as well as the 15 PSI pressure test as you can see in the photos. He even did a demonstration on gas leak on bubble test. During the installation, I asked George many technical questions about gas (flex vs iron), the natural gas code, pressure PSI, pipe size and some other techniques, he didn't hold back like some other technicians and didn't keep his trade secrets at all. That was a really good conversation. When you look for contractors, you need to look for someone who cares about your house. When they do their job, they treat it as if it's their own house and George and his Dad's team did it beyond our expectation. Strongly recommended. I will definitely hire George next year to run the gas line to backyard for our future gas fire pit. Simon

    Answer from pro:

Hey Simon, thank you for taking the time to write us an excellent review! I try to be as punctual as possible however sometimes as a contractor, you will encounter a job that will throw off your schedule. In those situations I try to contact my customers and let them know of the delay. GasGuys.ca treats all of their customer's homes as their own and take the time to ensure all the i 's are dotted and the t's crossed. For GasGuys.ca, pressure tests are standard, even for lengths under 15 ft. Again thank you for the detailed review and looking forward to working again this sprint/summer! Have a great winter! George

Rerouting gas line in basement and removing old lines

I contacted George to reroute the main gas line in our basement to get more headroom and also remove an old capped line. We both had uncertain schedules and he stayed in touch via email to find a time that worked for both of us. I found him to be very thorough and professional and appreciated his detailed explanation of the task. A full 10 for sure!

    Answer from pro:

Hello Shruti and thank you for the excellent review. Your basement had a maze of gas lines and I am glad we were able to eliminate many as well as re-route the main one to allow for more headroom in your basement. Hopefully the renovations are coming along quite well by now!, Thanks again! George
