    Windows and one front door

My husband and I were totally satisfied with our new windows and front door. The service was excellent. The people were very friendly and easy to work with. Barry and Jordan were extremely professional and efficient and on schedule. And the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Clera Windows & Doors to do your next renovation. Emily from Hanover Ontario.

    Warranty not upheld, defective window

We got all 6 windows from Clera, the instalation was good, they did a good job but after 6 months one of our windows was difficult to open. The window is awning style and the weatherstrip is getting caught on the opening mechanism. It took over 6 months for someone to come and take a look at our windows and they did finally offer a new window for us. It took time and patience but the company did agree that there was an issue with our windows and are working on a solution.

Dear customer, We apologize for lack of communication between our local branch and customer service dept. Our local branch has already reached out to you and we have agreed to replace the window in question for you. We will train our staff to be more proactive and take action in a timely manner. We appreciate your feedback as it will help us get better in after sales service. Thanks - Clera Admin

    DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

Update: THEY NEVER FIXED ANY OF THE ISSUES. It has been over 1 yr now. They told me to change my review multiple times and Ryan (manager) ignores my calls and emails. Then finally he answer the last email and told me that I have to change my review and refused to book a time to resolve this until I change my review. I told him that I cannot trust them and when they fix everything, then I will remove my review, but they just refuse to be professional and do the right thing. Beware of this company's claim that they give a lifetime warranty because they did not do it right the first time, damaged my property and have not taken any steps to make this right. Please read about my experience. Please beware of this company!! I ordered windows last year and they took many months to come and install. They did a poor installation and my windows are sticking out of my house and look terrible. They ripped off my vapor barrier and did not attempt to replace it. They left it all over my yard and left nails all over my driveway. I had to call the salesperson to tell him that they must replace the vapor barrier they tore off my house. They were putting the siding back on without putting the vapor barrier back on. They did not use drop cloths inside and had dust all over my kitchen and new oven. The installer ripped the plastic wrap around all my insulation around the walls of the windows and pulled out the pink insulation and threw it on my kitchen counters and floors. I brought the installer a plastic bag to put it in, thinking they didn't have one and he said: We have some. But they never used it. They just threw the insulation on the floor. They broke my drywall when they were cutting around the window opening. They got lots of drywall in my sink. No attempt to clean up either. The dust caused my respiratory condition to worsen and I was so sick the entire summer that I couldn't even go out to enjoy it, I had to stay in and rest and everytime I went to open my windows it was a major struggle. It is so depressing. The two windows have noticable cracks in the sash that the installer tried to cover up with a paste. One of the windows, the largest, came with holes in it (see photos) and with a bad welding at the corners. The windows are extremely difficult to open. Even the installer was complaining about it and he took a whole day for him and his assistanct to install one window because he spent so much time trying to loosen it. All 3 windows are extremely difficult to open. I am disabled and have a serious illness and am barely able to afford these windows, but I put them on credit because I wanted to be able to have new windows to open during the nice weather to make me feel better. Now it is like as if I got old windows and paid all this money for nothing. Now I am left heartbroken at the bad install, and poor windows. I have been so sick and having to deal with this for the past 8 months since install has been devastating and extremely stressful. I contacted Clera multiple times in all these past few months. I also emailed them. Finally the salesperson came to see the windows and he took photos and said sorry about the way they were installed and that they will take care of it. But they didn't from May all the way to now. Then I called and emailed again and again and no response. Finally after months, I called again and emailed and the salesperson kept saying that he passed it on to the manager and that the manager would call. He never did. The 3rd email asking about when the manager was going to call, the salesperson wrote back and promised monday. Monday came and went and I emailed him again and this time he blocked my email. I called Clera and spoke to a rep and she gave me the number of the manager. I called him and he ignored my calls. I kept calling. He called back and asked me to email him photos. I did and he called back and left me a voicemail. I tried calling him back for days and he didn't answer and didn't call me back. Then I emailed him a couple more times and he finally called back and said he would fix it. That was 2 months ago. It is now January 2019 and my windows were installed May 2018. They still have not resolved this. All these months, I have had to sit here with bad looking walls because I couldn't get them painted until they resolve the window issue. This has all been a nightmare. They claim to be a family owned business and they tout their own horn and brag about a lifetime warrranty, yet they won't even resolve an issue the same year that it happened. I am so sick. So heartbroken. I cannot believe how unprofessional they have behaved. I think my next option is to go to the news with this. PLEASE think twice before you use this company. I don't want anyone else to feel so heartbroken and depressed from their terrible "service". After I posted my review here, the salesperson TOM from Wallaceburg called and said they would fix it immediately. I asked him when and he wouldn't say but kept asking me to change my review and give them a high star rating. I told him I will remove my review if they resolve the issues. Then again he called me and asked me to change my review. Then he said that Ryan (service manager) would visit and Ryan visited a couple weeks later and he saw the issues and said he would talk to head office but asked me to change my review. I told him the same that I told the salesperson, and then he called me and asked me again to change my review, saying that head office approved the fixing of the issues and that he would send someone in April. No one came. I repeatedly called Ryan and left messages and sent emails and he ignored them. Finally on the last email, he said to me: "You have to do your part, You cost me a $27,000 job". What part does a customer have to do??? He wanted me to change my review. He refused to send someone to fix it. It is not the customer who cost them a 27K job, it is because they have been unprofessional throughout and refuse to remedy this whole thing. I have been having to deal with this in between medical and hospital appointments and have suffered greatly because of this. I am left with windows that enable water to drip through to the back behind my siding and they won't keep their word to remedy it.

    Replacement of Doors and Windows

Almost all doors and windows are the same. The only thing that sets them apart is the quality of the installation. For us the crew at FM Clera in Kingston are the best. Its a shame that FM CLera does not employ there own installers. We had a seriously bad install by their crew in Keswick. This crew out of Kingston came up to make it right. Although considering it took us over two years to get resolve from FM Clera with regards to the Keswick issue. In retrospect FM Clera should have rebated us money for all the lost dollars in heating costs. Most of the windows and doors were installed in Keswick without proper insulation. Hans and his crew out of Kingston are the best and their installation work is beyond reproach. Their cleaning of the yard not so much. I have found and continue to find small pieces of aluminum flashing and any number of screws. I am only concerned about this as our lawn guy could be launching projectiles next summer. A more rigourous cleanup or tarping under windows that are being worked on would negate this. I would have no problem reccomending Hans and his crew out of Kingston.

    Replaced Builder Windows

We took advantage of the GreenOn program to replace 10 original builder windows (20 years old) in the hopes of decreasing our energy bill and reducing the noise from the outside. Both the Sales Rep, Greg Gainham and the installer, Trevor were very personable, professional and knowledgeable. We got immediate customer service responses from both when we had some trouble with the latches. We are extemely happy with the DECREASE in our energy bill! And the noise reduction overall was much better than we expected...finally good night sleeps for the whole family!! We are second time customers of Clera and we trust their product and professionalism.

    New windows

We had a very positive experience from beginning to end with Greg Gainham (Clera rep) who explained in full and answered all our questions about our new window purchases. The installation of our 4 new windows was completed in one day by Trevor Wells and companion to our satisfaction, very professional job. The cleanup was done very quickly and to our satisfaction. Great job Trevor!! Oakville, Ontario.

New windows in living room and kitchen

Clera installed 3 new custom windows in total for us. Two large ones, and one fixed. The work was done on time and without issues. The problem however, is that one of the windows lets in cold air, and is therefore not of the expected quality considering the price. I called clera numerous times (over 10 times) over a few months. They always say that they will come, but never actually did so. Would not recommend.

    Window upgrades

We upgraded our kids' bedroom windows in 2011 with Clera products because the builder installed windows were absolute garbage (condensation between the glass, drafts, etc) and we loved Clera's lifetime warranty and the initial customer service. The new windows were a huge improvement and we were initially very happy. However, shortly after, the newly installed frames started to warp in some areas where rain had made contact for brief periods (on the odd occasion that a storm caught us off guard) and other areas (like at the top of the frame) that threw us for a loop. We called our customer service rep for our area (Georgetown) but unfortunately we never heard back...this left us with a bad impression. Slowly, over the next several years, the locks on the casement windows were getting increasingly difficult to engage, but since we believed that we couldn't rely on our rep to help us, we figured we had just been ripped off and just dealt with it. At this point in time, we were not going to recommend Clera Windows to anyone because the customer service after the purchase and installation was clearly lacking in our opinion. Fast forward to the end of 2018... by this time the frames were more warped (I came to the conclusion that MDF frames were used) and we couldn't even lock two out of our three of our casement windows. We were disgruntled customers, so when I saw a local Facebook post asking for opinions on Clera windows, I stated that our personal experience hadn't been the greatest. This is when I was put in contact with the current Georgetown rep (Adam) and my faith in customer service was renewed!!! Adam promptly came to assess the situation, and assured me that everything would be taken care of...and boy, he wasn't kidding! I quickly came to learn that my previous experience was merely a reflection of the prior customer service rep, and not the actual company. Paul, the installer, came to install new wood frames that would stand up to Canadian weather and the occasional rainstorm (I mean, we have Windows so that we can open them, after all), and he fixed our locking mechanisms to be just like new, and took the time to give us tips on how to maintain them as such. We are now happier than ever with our Clera Windows and we owe it all to Adam and Paul's 5+ star customer service! Our windows are now seven years old and still look and work like new with a few minor repairs. We know that we can rely on them if we ever have any issues at all (Paul even came back a few days later when we realized that our California shutters didn't fit into the tighter new frames!) but I doubt that we will!
