    Window replacement

I had my windows replaced throughout my home on Chandos lake. Paul and his team were very professional. They cleaned up after their work and always took their shoes off. This was appreciated very much. The work was perfect inside and out. I could not be happier with the job! I would recommend Clera Windows to anyone who asked.

New side door and bathroom window

We had our old wooden side door which had a broken window replaced with a new 6 panel steel door and a new casement windows installed in our bathroom. Frank from Clera provided us with a quote via email for the work based off of dimensions and photos I provided him. Shortly after another rep from Clera came out to confirm the work and sign paperwork. Our estimated install from signing was 8-9 weeks. Frank was good with communicating about the status of our order and providing a timeline, mainly that we need the window installed to finish our bathroom reno. The day the installers came they only had the door, the said they couldn't find the window at their work yard. The window had been misplaced or accidebtly grabbed by another crew as explained by Frank from Clera.Frank apologuzes for the mix up and promised to get the wibdow in befire Christmas. The door got installed that day with no real issues, although it was ALOT if work for the installers getting the door just right in the brick to brick opening. About two weeks later the installers came back on a Sunday to install the bathroom window. Overall the communication was great with Clera (Frank) and the installers did a great job and were very professional. Only inconvience was that the window had to be remade and installed at a later date.

We love to be the best that we can, SM. It's satisfying to know that your home today is a little bit better than it was few weeks back. Thank you for your kind review.

    Still waiting on doors... **UPDATED**

Shortly after writing this review, I heard from Mike, the install manager, and booked our installation. The installers showed up on time and worked efficiently and respectfully. They cleaned up when they left and the doors look and function great! We are quite happy with the final product, though we wish it hadn't taken quite so long for the doors to come in. I have updated my rating to account for the final installation and overall satisfaction with the product and price. I just hope that, in the future, communication to customers is improved when delays happen! (I would recommend the company to a friend with the caveat that they should expect a wait, perhaps significantly longer than the estimated time frame quoted). We were originally impressed by Clera. Bill came for our consult and spent a great deal of time explaining the features of doors without being pushy or trying to upsell us. That was back in mid-September and we signed our sales agreement and paid our deposit that day. It is now January and we still have no doors. We were originally quoted 6-8 weeks and when I called at 8 weeks was told it might be closer to 10 due to delays at the factory. I didn't hear anything again until I emailed in late-December (about 15 weeks after ordering) and was told that the doors had arrived and I should be receiving a call to book the install soon. A week later (even factoring in the holiday) and we're still waiting. The delays themselves would be frustrating alone, but we could get over it. It's the lack of communication that has been the most disappointing! Stacey in London (not Brampton)

    Answer from pro:

Dear Stacey, We understand that your installation date has been scheduled now and we apologize for the delay and inconvenience. We agree that this is a result of lack of communication and we will try to train our branches to get back to the customers in a timely manner. We will really appreciate if you could amend your rating based on the overall experience once your door is installed. Thanks - Clera Admin

The workers showed up on time, and completed the job quickly, while respecting our home. The finished product is beautiful, and their instructions on how to work the mechanisms was appreciated.

    Ongoing concerns/Good customer service

I have had my windows and doors for just less than a year now. After experiencing four seasons with them I have two major concerns with the windows that I have not had with two previous window companies based in the GTA. The two concerns are bug related and thermal efficiency. I have found both ladybugs and flies getting past the screens and getting in a drainage channel that runs under the sash and sill of the sliding windows. If I open the windows the bugs enter the house. Once in the channel there is only a sponge to slow the bugs down from direct entry to the house. As for thermal issues, I get condensation build up and subsequent ice formation on the windows and sash. I contacted my local sales representative and after a conversation, although he was willing to listen and answer several of my questions, other answers did not leave me satisfied. He then passed me on to the VP of Clera. We are currently discussing potential issues. As for the bug problems, we will have to wait until the spring to try and pinpoint the route of entry and the VP has assured me they will look into it when the bugs return. Regarding the thermal issue, the condensation on the windows has been adequately explained but I am still concerned about fresh condensation build up on the sash. I have never seen that before in previous windows. Although I have some unresolved concerns about the windows, I have found the customer service at Clera Windows and Doors to be agreeable when talking on the phone and I have high hopes that come spring all of my concerns will be resolved one way or another. For now, Clera is encouraging frequent communication throughout the winter to try to resolve my thermal concerns.

Clera door and intall not up to par

Well it's been 21 months dince I purchased my door and I'm still unhappy. The first installer came and brought the door upon inspection I noticed that the gasket surrounding the glass was crimped. I was promised a new grasket which came months later. The ins y aller kept promising to come but many times didn't show. Finally he stop responding. I called the office in London and the office in Concord. I had to actually threatened to contact the BBB. When I was finally called I was told that the installer no longer worked there. The trim around the glass on the outside had begun to lift away. Another problem!!! This again took almost 4 months. So now I have new trim which I was told would not let go because it was made of a different material. Howerver to secure that doesnt happen he put an ugly bead of silicone around it. I am so angry because I wanted and paid for a quality door and ended up with a cheap looking door. DON'T BUY FROM CLERA!!###!

Two outdoor doors and a window in an old Toronto home

Everyone we came in contact with on the Clera team was extremely professional and a pleasure to have working on our home. Our home is an old Toronto home and hence the job we needed done wasn't what I would call "standard." But no matter, Eddy got the job done quickly and to a very high standard. Highly recommend!

    Window Replacement

David, the sale rep, was fabulous. He wasn't pushy to have me buy a certain amount of windows as I've heard other sale reps do. David kept me up to date when the windows were ready and if there was change in schedule, he called me to arrange another day which would work for everyone. The installers, Eddy and Leon were great. They were thorough and knowledgeable about the product they were installing and then showed me how to use it when the windows were completed. I would recommend and have recommended them to another neighbor. I have a few more windows to do and will be a repeat customer. I am relieved that I purchased new windows from Clera and happy that it was installed by staff who knew what they were doing.
