    Clogged kitchen sink

I came home one day to a kitchen sink that had never been blocked in the 12 years we have lived at our house. We tried to clear it ourselves with no success. I called Mr. Rooter because we have been very pleased with their work on other occasions. Vadym Badenko arrived to fix the problem. He was professional and courteous. He diagnosed and repaired the sink in no time. For a relatively small job, I was impressed by how he managed every detail - always covered his outdoor shoes in order to protect my floors, laid out mats over my kitchen floor, left the cabinet with the plum, bing cleaner than he found it, explained everything he was going to do bnefore going ahead, explained how to prevent problems in the future, etc., etc. Thank you.

    Answer from pro:

You're welcome Courtney. We're glad that you found the service of Vadym and Mr. Rooter to be professional and courteous. Feel free to contact us in the future if you have additional plumbing or drain needs.

Plumbing. Fixing burst and leaky pipes

I have had Chris over to the place on a couple of occasions. Once to fix some pipes that froze and burst, and again to fix another leaky pipe. He is great. Very helpful and a nice guy. Went beyond what he needed to do. It's great to have someone I can call that I trust. Highly Recommended.

    Answer from pro:

    Drain Blockage

Robert Plantic is the most amazing home service provider I have ever had to deal with. He had to visit us 2 times and each time he left a great impression, not only on himself but on the company. The 1st time he came was just to give us an estimate. Even though the price seemed high, we decided to go ahead since Robert seemed like a very nice guy. The work he did temporarily fixed the problem, but a month later we learned that there was another bigger problem with the main drain. We were happy to have him come over again. This time he used a camera to show us what was in the drain and later snaked the drain. Overall, he's super friendly, takes his time doing the job ensuring everything is working properly. In addition, he explains everything and only does the work if told to do so. Not like other plumbers who do this and that and charge you up. Thanks for a great Job Robert.

    water service replacement

We had a leaking galvanized water service pipe in our basement and called in Mr Rooter based on good reviews on this site. The plumber from Mr Rooter inspected our water service and told us it was lead, and that to repair the leak he would have to replace the whole water service with copper. We went ahead, but as they were finishing up I went and looked around and noticed that the old service pipe they replaced was in fact copper, not lead! I was shocked and spoke to their general manager to try to resolve the situation. He was insisted on being paid almost full price anyway, and would not admit any mistakes. We went to a settlement conference where we felt pressured to pay as in order to take it to court we would have had to find and pay yet another plumber to give evidence on the lead vs copper issue on our behalf. So we ended up paying $1400 for work that should have cost just a few hundred dollars.

    Answer from pro:

Mr. G, it is people like you who try and give reputable companies a bad name. It is unfair that we have to defend ourselves even though at the settlement conference, it was shown that we were not at fault. You mentioned yourself that you had a leaking galvanized water service. No where on the invoice that you signed and authorized for us to do the work does it mention a lead service. It was a leaking galvanized service, which needed to be replaced in order to fixed permanently. We are not a fly-by-night outfit that offers bandages as a solution when in fact stitches are needed; we are Mr. Rooter Plumbing. You now have an upgraded ¾” copper water service, which you received at a great price; has increased the value of your home. Once a water service starts to leak and is disturbed during a repair attempt, it is just a short period of time before pinholes appear throughout the remainder of the line. Being in business for the last 20 years; this fact is based on experience; as we have seen this countless times before. There must be a reason why the City of Toronto is currently undertaking a 9 year water service replacement program throughout the city to upgrade these old services. Do not shoot the messenger; it is not our fault that nothing lasts forever and that your home had an old, galvanized water service. We are the professionals; a full service plumbing company with master plumbers and licensed plumbers on staff that know exactly what needs to be done. We believe in doing things RIGHT; the first time; as can be seen by the many write ups that we have on homestars.com.

Redo plumbing for new bath tub

I had another company (R & G Mechanical in Concord) come in to install a new bath tub into a brand new bathroom. I was told I would get a 60X30X20 bathtub, installed, leveled, polished nickel fittings and a guarantee on the workmanship. We agreed on a price, so far ok. I received a call from the owner Geanpaul that his team of master plumbers were coming over to do the job. When they showed up it was the wrong bathtub completely. I sent them back for the right tub. 1 week later again they come this time with the right tub, wrong faucet. I had to go out and now buy a faucet otherwise I would have had to wait who knows how long for them to come back. Keep in mind during this whole time my bathroom renovations are on hold as nothing can be done with the bathtub in place. They installed the bathtub (not level). When they left I saw that the valve was placed too far back into the wall and would not work properly when completed. I had them back to move it forward. They did, however still not forward enough. I then noticed a leak in one of the solder joints so I had them back again. They fixed the solder, almost burning down my house in the process. Later on that day I filled the tub completely to make sure all is well, when i opened the drain to let the water out it leaked all over the place. I again called R&G, now after hours, Randy called back and started blaming me for the problems. I said I wanted someone there to fix my problems. They continued to blame me. We agreed on someone arriving the next morning to fix all my issues....no one showed up. I decided enough was enough. I called Mr Rooter and they sent Chris Cochrane. Man oh man what a difference. An honest hard worker, you know like the old time workers, a guy who took real pride in his job and doing a great job. I am so glad he came. as it turned out everything other than the bringing of the bathtub was done incorrectly and it all had to be redone; joints were put together with millimeter overlaps (in no time my pipes would have burst), drain wasn't lined up forcing the washer to not sit right as well as being all melted, valves were put in for absolutely no reason (potential for future breakdown), hot and cold water reversed. I couldn't believe it. Chris fixed all my issues, cleaned up after himself, took care to do the job right and it shows. I would recommend him to my friends in a flash. I will not call anyone else in the future. Thank you Chris for doing such a great job.

Installation of toilet and new bathroom faucets

Robert Plantic did a great job. He was here for over 5 hours - till 10 pm - and got everything done on the same day - even though we only called in the afternoon. He spent a while on the toilet intallation, because the floor was uneven - and even though it took him far longer to install than he expected he completed everything for the fixed agreed price. I also appreciate his giving free hints about some small improvements I could carry out myself and doing some small extras not included in the original work. Great work.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Antony for your review of Robert and Mr. Rooter plumbing. We aim to please, and if that takes going the extra mile than so be it. We hope after this experience, you will think of Mr. Rooter for any of your future plumbing or drain needs.

Flooded basement due to broken floor drain

We had the unfortunate experience of returning home to a flooded basement. We contacted Mr. Rooter Plumbing who immediately dispatched Bob Trollope to investigate. He was incredibly helpful in quickly identifying the problem and advising us what immediate actions we needed to make (ie. securing a emergency clean-up/restoration crew and excavation crew to repair the damage). Bob was always available to answer any questions we had including completing necessary paperwork for City Drain Grant program. I would not hesitate to fully recommend their plumbing services. My experience was fantastic!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Trona. The fact that you described your experience as "fantastic" speaks volumes!!! We're happy that Bob and Mr. Rooter could come to your rescue and assist you with your flooded basement. As Bob demonstrated, we are always available if you need answers to your questions.
