Review from Jeff Kerr Review left on 16 Oct 2015Rating: 5 out of 5The drain shared by my bathroom and kitchen was clogged. I tried air pumps and various chemicals, but nothing worked. Moreover the chemicals seemed to eat through the sink! I needed someone to come quickly and Rick from Mr. Rooter was there the next day. It took a while to clear it, but they finally got it and it has been clear ever since! They also replaced the sink for me. I also saved some money by getting a membership. If you are in a pinch, give them a call!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

We had a DIY toilet replacement that went wrong - turning off the water main to the house we btoke off the handle. Brian was great and super-helpful - they don't design these the way they did when the house was built, so he went to 3 different places to find the part and when he couldn't, he figured out a whole new solution so we could get water back on. This Thanksgiving I give thanks for Brian M and Mr Rooter!Review from Customer of Mr. Rooter Plumbing of GTA Customer of Mr. Rooter Plumbing of GTA

Review left on 6 Oct 2015Rating: 5 out of 5Backwater valve installation
We had a backwater valve installed. Mr. Rooter North York's response to my email query was prompt. Travis, the representative, inspired confidence with his knowledge and upbeat personality. He and Dennis, the installer, were both perfect gentlemen. The job was performed on schedule, and for the price quoted. I recommend them highly.Answer from pro:

A slow basement drain and a minor sewage backup led us to go looking for someone to unclog/scope the drain. A quick call to Mr. Rooter and Travis was on the scene in just a few hours. He quickly assessed that we had a broken trap outside the house that was likely original (from the late 1940's). Upon his recommendation we replaced the trap with a backwater valve to help reduce the chances of our basement backing up with sewage from the city line. The crew that ended up doing the digging in our front yard did an amazing job and, now that the job is finished, the only way you can really tell we had any work done is there's a slight hump as the dirt has not settled yet and some cut lines in the sod. They even redistributed the decorative wood chips along the front of our house so it looks undisturbed. Everyone involved in the project was professional, courteous, and very fast (the entire job was finished in 2 days). It even turned out there was a rebate application available for the hardware we had installed and Travis came armed with the application so all we had to do was fill in some basic information and mail it along with a copy of the invoice. We are completely satisfied and cannot recommend this team of people enough.Answer from pro:

I was getting my basement waterproofed when I decided it would be a good idea to check my "clay pipes" and fix them at the same time if the price was right. The first company I called (a referral from a friend) quoted me a ridiculous amount (almost double what I ended up paying Mr. Rooter in the end) and I was so disappointed with the Sales guy’s high pressure tactics that I went to HomeStars (my go to website for home stuff) to get more quotes. Travis with Mr. Rooter showed up and was honest and straight forward with me. With the exception of some invoicing errors, the experience overall was great and the quality of work was fantastic, I’m very pleased. I would highly recommend Travis and Roman to anyone looking for help with their plumbing needs. Thank you Mr. Rooter!Answer from pro:

Mr. Rooter is punctual, fast to come out and the job is great. I always ask for Waqas Ahmad. He is the best. He has been looking after all our plumbing needs for the past couple of years. I would not ask for anyone else.Review from Cheryl Cheryl
Review left on 27 Sep 2015Rating: 1 out of 5slow moving kitchen sink drain
Our drain was emptying the water really slowly on one side of our double sink, but not the other, so the problem had to be either the slope, or an 8" piece of pipe. They got to our house and wanted $320 to look at it, which is ridiculous for 10 minutes of work. He dropped the price to his "minimum" of $224, which we begrudgingly accepted. He couldn't find anything wrong, so figured it might just be the drainer that comes with the garburator not having a large enough opening. Waste of money. I gave a poor survey response for value for money, got a call from head office, to be told that his preloaded ipad app had the wrong amounts for our area, and the price should have been $180. What if I hadn't spoken with them after the call!!!! Others have been happy with the service. I was not. The repair man was very friendly and professional, to their credit. I just don't see how $320 for 10 minutes work is reasonable, as originally quoted. I am glad I didn't accept that quote!!Answer from pro:
Hello Cheryl, We apologize for the less than positive experience you had. We have spoken to our plumber and the manager about what happened. We realize that there was some mistakes that may have been made. However we do feel that there is some things we would like to address. The original quote ($320 tax included) that the technician showed you, was for snaking the drain which would have needed to be done if there was a blockage found in the drain. If the technician had to snake the drain for the $320, this would not have been a “10 minute” job. Our plumber found that the drain was not blocked, but it seemed the water flowed slowly only through the garburator, which was caused by the garburator. The price of $224 (tax included) was the amount charged for the diagnostic work that was completed up to that point (taking apart the drain, testing, etc.) We do apologize again for the issue of the diagnostic fee. We also credited the difference to you, and we thank you for reaching out to us so we could mend this error. Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Greater Toronto
