Late Tues. night we noticed that the food in the freezer was starting to thaw. We have had this issue before and called the Appliance Guy after reading reviews on Homestars. I called him at 9:30am on Wednesday am and inquired about his ability to complete a service call in the next few days. I informed him that we have a second fridge in the basement so it was not an urgent request. He insisted that he service the appliance today and was willing to squeeze me into his schedule for the same day. To my disbelief he was at my home one hour later. He fixed the problem promptly and explained his repair in detail. He improved and upgraded the broken heater and we were up and running perfectly in less than 12 hours from the time we discovered the problem. We will have him on speed dial from now on. It is so wonderful to discover someone so friendly and reliable. His excellent customer service and attention to detail will make us return customers in the future. We are so appreciative and thankful to have found such a great guy on Homestars. He has our highest recommendation.

We had an emergency need to fix a washing machine in my mum's house while she was overseas, and with a disabled brother, a washing machine that works daily is so important. Joe made room in his schedule to make sure to get to the house before the end of that day (I talked to him at 1pm, he was at the house by 4), and he was prepared, professional and simply a delight. I have just called Joe to come and fix my own machine! Thanks, Joe, for your great work and friendliness. I'm glad to have you in my life!

Old Maytag dishwasher finally broke down. We were ready to chuck it out but thought we might just take a chance on a repairman although not looking forward to the usual "keep you waiting" types and "not sure what to do" types who occasionally inhabit the repair field. Joe arrived on schedule, figured the problem out in minutes. Had the necessary parts in his van and had it fixed it in a few more minutes. Joe knows his stuff!

My 15 year old over-the-range microwave stopped heating and I knew that replacing it would be a major expense. Joe came shortly after I called him. He found that the microwave had not been installed properly and with my permission, he knocked off one of the panels so that he could service the unit. He replaced the door switch and tested it thoroughly to make sure it was the correct fix. Everything is fine more than one year later, saving me a significant expenditure. Joe is your man if you have an appliance problem!

The appliance guy is great, called, told him the brand and what the problem appeared to be, he seemed to already know what is the most likely part that is broken and what needed to be done. Set up an appointment a few days later, he came over and fixed both the fridge and the washer. Will happily recommend and call again in the future.

My oven's bake function wasn't working - after talking to the people at KitchenAid, and determining that they could narrow down a service window to about 5 hours, at an obscene rate, I decided I could do better. I didn't know how much better until Joe, the appliance guy came by. I called late on a thursday night and received a phone call first thing Friday and arranged to have The Appliance Guy come in at lunch that day! He came evaluated the problem and went to work fixing it. He was very careful and considerate ensuring that my floor didn't get scratched when he needed to move my stove. After he fixed the problem and verified that it worked, I casually mentioned some other items I was having with my dishwasher, fridge and washer. Joe took a quick look, performed some preventative maintenance on my dishwasher (which has turned a pathetic tired old machine into a spirited helper that actually cleans dishes) and provided suggestions to make my fridge work better and reposition my washer. Joe was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend his work and he made booking an appointment easy.

After a week of house guests I was busily trying to get through a pile of laundry when my washing machine stopped working. I checked on-line for an appliance repair person and came across "Homestars". I read the reviews of Joe's work and make an early call. Within an hour I had a call back from Joe and an appointment for early afternoon. Joe diagnosed the problen within seconds of opening up the front of the machine. He had all the replacement parts in his vehicle so there was no ordering and waiting for parts to arrive. The entire "visit" took about 30 minutes and the machine is working like new. In addition, Joe is a very pleasant man with a very professional manner. I certainly will call him if I have other appliance concerns and will definitely recommend him to my friends. Thanks Joe.

My washing machine broke on Sunday. Not having a repair man I used the Homestars website for the first time and read about Jo. Though the last person who wrote a review about Jo wasn’t happy I read the other reviews and they all seemed very happy with his work. I called Jo this morning and he was able to come over within a few hours. Like others have said he was professional and personable. He was able to repair my machine straight away as he had parts in his truck and the final price was very reasonable. It turns out his has serviced my neighbours appliances for years. I will definitely call Jo if another appliance breaks and recommend his services to friends and neighbours.

Well, everybody seems to love this guy, but I beg to differ. My Kenmore dishwasher failed to drain intermittently. Joe came promptly, cleaned it out, checked things, ran a diagnostic. He was polite & friendly, said it was now fine, left. The next day the dishwasher again wouldn't drain. I called Joe, he seemed really sorry, but said he couldn't help, must be the timer, told me I had to call Kenmore. {WTF? He knew it was a Kenmore before he came, if he can't get parts for Kenmore he should have warned me.} Anyway, I called Kenmore, they replaced the DRAIN PUMP (not the timer) and the dishwasher now runs fine. (They explained the pump was overheating, which was why the problem was intermittent.) On top of all that, Kenmore's service call cost less than Joe's! I won't be calling the Appliance Guy again. Sorry to rain on the parade....

Our refrigerator died on Sunday night and we were desparate to have it fixed first thing Monday morning to save all of the food. Joe rearranged his day to take care of us and was fast at the repair once he got on site. Also fixed our dishwasher while he was here. This is our second great experience with Joe the Appliance Guy - we will refer Joe without hesitation.
